Man seriously hurt and XL Bully dies in Aberdeen attempted murder
A man has been seriously injured in an attempted murder bid in Aberdeen which left an XL Bully dog 51-year-old was hurt in the incident at Eric Hendrie Park in the Deveron Road area of the city at about 20:30 on were called to the scene following reports of a "disturbance" and a vehicle in the man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where his condition is described as "serious but stable", however his dog died. Det Sgt Emma Low said inquiries into the incident were at an early asked anyone with information to contact officers.

One seriously injured after early morning hit-and-run near Stittsville
One person was seriously injured in a hit-and-run near Stittsville early Saturday. According to the Ottawa Police Service, officers responded to a single-vehicle collision on Fallowfield Road east of Woodroffe Avenue at around 4:30 a.m. Police said the driver, who had been alone in the vehicle, was hit by another vehicle after exiting their own. The person in the second vehicle drove away westbound towards Woodroffe Avenue. The first driver was sent to hospital with serious injuries, police said. Fallowfield Road was closed for several hours on Saturday while police investigated the incident, according to a post on the Ottawa Police Operations social media account. It was re-opened at around 10:30 a.m. Anyone with information about the hit-and-run was asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service at 613-236-1222 ext. 2666. Pedestrian seriously hurt in Langley crash: police
Langley RCMP cruisers are shown in this CTV News Vancouver file photo. Mounties in Langley say a pedestrian was seriously hurt in a vehicle crash Wednesday evening. Police were called to the area of 208 Street and 44 Avenue just after 8 p.m., according to a news release from the detachment. The Langley RCMP asked drivers to avoid the area as they investigated. Meanwhile, the victim was taken to a local hospital with injuries police described as serious. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dash camera video is asked to call the detachment at 604 -532-3200.

Woman seriously injured in hit-and-run crash on Chicago's West Side
A 58-year-old woman was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash on Chicago's West Side on Monday night. According to Chicago police, the woman was walking on the side of the street, in the 500 block of North Pulaski Road, when she was hit by a car around 10:50 p.m. Police said the victim sustained trauma to her body and was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where she was listed in serious condition. Police have not released details on the vehicle wanted in connection with the crash. No arrests have been made. Area Four detectives are investigating.

Bus driver arrested after 20 people injured in Manchester crash
The driver of a double-decker bus that crashed into a bridge in Manchester, injuring 20 people, has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving. The bus had collided with the Bridgewater Canal Aqueduct on Barton Lane in Eccles, Greater Manchester, on Monday. A passenger was ejected from the top deck of the bus during the incident, which also tore off the top level of the vehicle. Greater Manchester Police said in a statement that the driver, a man in his 50s, has since been bailed pending further investigations. It added that three people - a 19-year-old female and two men, aged 20 and 40 - who sustained serious injuries remain in hospital in a stable condition. Seventeen others were treated at the scene for injuries. Officers believe the bus had come off its expected route, and that the driver failed to comply with height restriction warnings, including hanging chains and signage. A major incident was declared by North West Ambulance Service after the incident, with 10 emergency ambulances, advanced paramedics, the Hazard Area Response Team and North West Air Ambulance dispatched. Read more from Sky News: Transport for Greater Manchester said the bus was a 100 service and was in operation at the time of the incident. The service departs from Shudehill and travels to Salford, Trafford Centre, and Warrington. The location where the incident took place did not appear to be on the Bee Network Route map for the 100 service.
