Former school resource officer at Bloomington North accused of child seduction

A former Bloomington High School North school resource officer is accused of sexual misconduct with a female student on a fishing trip in June last year. The former officer, Jason Tatlock, 46 of Owen County, is now charged with child seduction as a child care worker, battery, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and furnishing alcohol to a minor. His initial hearing was Thursday, June 26. An officer with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources began investigating after the student's sister reported to police that, on a fishing trip to Cataract Falls, Tatlock kissed the student, touched her inappropriately and confessed his attraction to her. The student told police in an interview that on the fishing trip, Tatlock 'assaulted' her and she was 'scared to death,' the probable cause affidavit said. The student told police he had inappropriately touched her and kissed her several times on the trip. "I haven't been the same person since what he did to me,' the student told police, the affidavit said. 'I haven't been the same person. I've had trouble sleeping. ... I've been traumatized." She told police that two days after the incident on the boat, she asked how many women he had cheated on his wife with. He responded, she told investigators, by saying 'she was the youngest.' In an interview with police, Tatlock said he had touched her inappropriately and made sexually explicit comments but did not recall kissing her. He and the female student continually met in his office throughout the school year, according to the affidavit. The student told police he had looked her name up on the first day of school. She told police he would buy her snacks and coffee, the affidavit said, and continued to email after the school year ended. She and Tatlock both told police that on the day of the outing he bought her a bottle of vodka. She described feeling drunk on the trip. Bloomington North families and employees received a message about the incident on June 24, after law enforcement concluded its investigation. The message said the Monroe County Community School Corp. received a report on June 18, 2024, from the guardian of a now-graduated Bloomington North student alleging Tatlock had sexually assaulted the student. The district immediately contacted the Indiana Department of Child Services. Tatlock was placed on administrative leave that day. According to the affidavit, he told police that school officials called him multiple times and took his school vehicle. He resigned June 19, last year, the district said. He joined MCCSC in July 2023 after 20 years working at the Monroe County Sheriff's Office and the Owen County Sheriff's Office, the email said. The affidavit said he told police he also had worked for the Seymour Police Department. 'The safety and security of our students is the highest priority to the MCCSC,' the email said. 'We will continue to work cooperatively with our law enforcement partners and the prosecutor's office in this matter." Just for Laughs's Gilbert Rozon says rumours of sexual misconduct cost company $30M

Just for Laughs founder Gilbert Rozon is seen at the courthouse during a break in his civil trial in Montreal on Monday, June 2, 2025. (Christinne Muschi/The Canadian Press) Just for Laughs founder Gilbert Rozon says rumours of sexual misconduct allegations against him cost the company $30 million in a matter of hours. Rozon says governments froze subsidies and sponsors followed suit in the hours before the allegations were made public in Quebec media in 2017. He says the effects of the allegations caused 'carnage' around him, adding that his sons and several colleagues fell into depression. Rozon stepped down from Just for Laughs after the investigation was published, and the company was eventually sold. The disgraced former comedy mogul testified for the third day at his civil trial, in which he is being sued by nine women for a total of nearly $14 million in damages over alleged sexual abuse. Rozon maintains he had consensual relations with three of the women, and he has denied the other allegations against him. This report by The Canadian Press was first published June 25, 2025. Lawsuit alleges Michigan school district covered up sexual abuse between former teacher, student

A new lawsuit has surfaced involving Bedford Public Schools in Monroe County, Michigan, accusing the district of covering up sexual misconduct by a former teacher with a student in 2022. It details disturbing incidents of sexual abuse between Christopher Wilhelm, a former teacher and football coach at Bedford High School, and a then-17-year-old female student. CBS Detroit The complaint alleges the abuse took place from May 2022 until December 2022 during school hours, on school property and off school grounds. Wilhelm is accused of grooming the student, sending inappropriate text messages and videos and having sex with the student multiple times in his classroom, including at his home in Toledo, Ohio, where she was his alleged babysitter. "He did grooming techniques. Initially, it began in the beginning of the summer. They had some text messages and emails. They used Snapchat and Instagram, and it moved into how predators do this. They try to gain the confidence and then they introduce their subject to discussions about playfulness about sex, and they move them right along that continuum," said plaintiff attorney Terry Cochran. Wilhelm is currently behind bars, charged with third and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct related to this case. This lawsuit accuses Bedford Public Schools of violating the student's civil rights. It alleges the school district had the opportunity to report the misconduct and launch an investigation, but allegedly did not. "Her homeroom teacher brought it to the attention of the assistant principal and the principal that there was conduct going on here that wasn't correct. And the assistant principal and principal really didn't do much of an investigation," Cochran said. CBS Detroit The suit also claims the district failed to train staff on identifying and reporting concerns of red flag behaviors between a teacher and student, which created a hostile environment for this teenager. "The signs were there. The red flags were there, and the administration, the principal and the assistant principal failed to act. This is about civil rights. Her rights to be free to attend a public education without fear of sexual harassment," said Cochran. CBS News Detroit reached out to Bedford Public Schools for comment. We received the following statement from Superintendent Carl Shultz: "The safety and well-being of our students is—and always will be—our highest priority. We take any allegation involving the harm of a student with the utmost seriousness and are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and respectful environment in every school building. While we understand there may be questions regarding the recently filed lawsuit, the district cannot comment on pending legal matters. We remain focused on supporting our students, staff, and school community during this time." The lawsuit is seeking at least $25,000 in damages. Attorneys are also encouraging any victims to come forward as they feel this isn't the first case of sexual misconduct Wilhelm was involved. Read the full lawsuit below

Benton County employee fired after sexual misconduct investigation

BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — An investigation of sexual misconduct in a Benton County detention center has led to the arrest of a jail employee, according to a news release. Matthew Lockard, 42, is facing a charge of sexual assault in the fourth degree. 'Sheriff Holloway is deeply troubled by the actions of this individual and emphasizes that such behavior will not be tolerated,' the press release states. 'He remains proud of the many dedicated men and women of the Benton County Sheriff's Office who continue to serve the citizens of Benton County with integrity and professionalism.' Holloway was notified of alleged inappropriate behavior between Lockard and an inmate on June 17. Sheriff Holloway immediately ordered both an internal and criminal investigation into the matter, the release states. A probable cause affidavit filed on June 20 said a BCSO detective was asked to investigate possible charges associated with a professional standards investigation. The affidfavit listed three incidents where Lockard allegedly touched the inmate inappropriately. Notes were reportedly passed from Lockard to the inmate. The inmate told the detective that they did not give Lockard any notes. Lockard was interviewed and denied the allegations against him. When authorities mentioned the notes, he said they were not from him. After seeing samples of his handwriting, he said it looked 'identical'. He then admitted to passing the notes. Lockard also admitted to kissing the inmate for around three seconds. Lockard was terminated on June 19. He had been employed since Nov. 16, 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
