Shotgun fired at pub injuring four people

A shotgun was fired at a pub injuring four people before armed police descended on the area. Two men, aged in their 20s and 40s, and two women, aged in their 20s and 50s, were injured in the incident. Armed police were called to the Dunkirk Hall in Leyland at 10.19pm last night, July 18, with police describing it as an isolated incident. An investigation has since been launched to find the gunman. A Lancashire Police spokesperson said: "At 10.19pm on Friday 18th July we were called to reports of a shotgun being discharged on Dunkirk Lane, Leyland. An investigation is underway, and enquiries are ongoing. "This is being treated as an isolated incident, and we have increased reassurance patrols in the area as a precaution." Lancs Live reports that the pub posted on Facebook: "To all customers: Following an incident last night, both the pub and Smokies will be closed for a while today - certainly early afternoon whilst the police carry out further forensic investigations. "We hope to be open by late afternoon, but please watch this space for further information. Just to quell any rumours no one has been seriously injured and all staff and customers are fine." The Dunkirk Hall was originally a manor house but was used as an office building for most of the twentieth century before being converted into a pub in 1983. Transit police say man tried to sell loaded shotgun along a SkyTrain route

Metro Vancouver Transit Police shared this photo of the shotgun and ammunition they seized. (MVTP) Transit police in Metro Vancouver say a man has been charged with firearms offences after allegedly trying to sell a loaded shotgun along a SkyTrain route. Transit and Surrey Police Service officers were on patrol between Gateway and Surrey Central SkyTrain stations in Surrey when they arrested the 37-year-old man of no fixed address on Tuesday, just after 5 p.m. Police say the man was trying to sell a loaded 12-gauge sawed-off shotgun. The man has been charged with four offences including unauthorized possession of a firearm and possession of a loaded unauthorized or restricted firearm. Police say the man will remain in custody until his next court appearance. Sgt. Sergeant Dustin Szakacs says transit police work collaboratively with other agencies to ensure the safety of transit users. 'Deadly' SHOTGUN and cartridges of ammunition found in woodland in Oldham

A huge shotgun and rounds of ammunition were found during a police search of a woodland in Oldham on Wednesday (July 9). Officers from Operation Vulcan discovered and seized the firearm following a search of the area, located on Oldham Edge, at the top of Henshaw Street. A sawn-off shotgun with eleven cartridges of ammunition was discovered. It was safely recovered and has been sent for expert forensic analysis as part of the investigation. Dozens of arrests have been made along with hundreds of stop-searches. Detective Inspector Lee Newburn, from GMP's Vulcan team, said: 'This successful find has meant a deadly weapon is off the streets of Oldham and is a further example of the work the Vulcan team is doing in keeping Derker and the wider community safe. 'We have already taken countless weapons off the streets and will continue to do this, while pursuing those who are responsible and bringing them to justice.
