Egypt: Al Safy Group invests $80mln to expand factory in 6th of October City
Egypt - Al Safy Group is investing $80m to expand its factory in 6th of October City, aiming to increase production capacity and meet rising demand for its high-tech product lines. Global tech giant Xiaomi has chosen the facility to manufacture its smartphones and smart screens—reflecting confidence in Al Safy's industrial capabilities and Egypt's growing competitiveness in the technology sector. Through this strategic partnership, Xiaomi is not only producing its devices in Egypt but also contributing to the country's technological advancement, leveraging Egypt's strategic location and ambitions as a regional hub. Utilising one of the most advanced manufacturing infrastructures in the Middle East and Africa, Xiaomi is integrating global expertise with Egyptian efficiency at the Al Safy factory to produce a range of smart devices. Diaa El Shaarawy, Chief Operating Officer of Al Safy Group, stated: 'Our factory is aligned with the latest global manufacturing technologies through advanced infrastructure and diverse production lines. It currently operates 25 specialised lines, 19 of which are dedicated to Xiaomi. These include six lines for television screens with an annual capacity of 500,000 units, and 12 lines for smartphones with an annual output of up to 3 million units. We also operate a packaging line and are adding new lines for smartwatches, routers, advanced cameras, and headphones—further diversifying our production and responding to growing market needs.' Islam Adel, General Manager of the Al Safy factory, said: 'Al Safy not only keeps pace with global manufacturing standards—it surpasses them in many areas. We adhere to rigorous international quality benchmarks, supported by ORT labs for durability testing, precision testing of components and final products, and compliance with ISO certifications 9001, 14001, and 45001. These all reflect our commitment to excellence.' As Xiaomi's primary manufacturing partner in Egypt and the wider region, Al Safy produces smartphones and smart screens to the same quality standards as those manufactured in China. According to Adel, this localisation strategy has reduced import costs, enhanced the competitiveness of Egyptian-made tech products, and opened up new export markets across Africa and the Arab world through Egypt's trade agreements. Al Safy Group aims to position its facility as a regional industrial hub, capitalising on Egypt's strategic geographic location and broad network of preferential trade agreements. The group continues to increase its investments and expand production lines—reinforcing Egypt's role as a rising force in electronics manufacturing and advanced industries in the region.

Eufy's Omni C20 mopping robovac is $300 off for a limited time
After a long week, the last thing I want to do is clean my floors (they're seriously overdue for a cleaning). Busting out the vacuum and mopping can be tiring. That's why I'm a big fan of robot vacuums, especially ones with built-in mops that can handle all the cleaning on their own. Speaking of, you can pick up the Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni C20 at Amazon and Eufy for $399.98 ($300 off), matching its all-time low. This deal may be around for just a matter of hours. The Omni C20 is one of Eufy's newer vacuum and mopping combo units that offers several automated cleaning features to make your life easier. The all-in-one station can empty, wash, dry, and refill the C20 between cleanings. It can also wash then dry the mop, so the robovac doesn't wind up smelling like a gym locker while it roams your house. A transparent water tank allows you to easily monitor water levels without having to open the all-in-one station. It features two sweeping and mopping modules, each capable of 180 rotations per minute. That should be enough to remove most tough stains on your floors. Additionally, the Omni C20 features adequate suction (7,000Pa), a rolling brush, and a side brush, all of which allow it to tackle dirt, crumbs, and pet hair. Speaking of hair, the robovac includes a 'pro-detangle comb,' which can loosen and remove tangled hair from the brush. That said, anti-tangle brushes can be hit or miss, so it's always a good idea to clean it manually. While we haven't had the opportunity to test the Omni C20, our experience with Eufy robovacs has been generally positive. We chose the Eufy X10 Pro Omni as the best midrange robot vacuum / mop combo, and the Omni C20 offers a similar suite of features. However, the Omni C20 doesn't support obstacle avoidance, which means it may run over wires, socks, toys, and even pet messes. So, looks like you'll still have a little bit of pre-cleaning to do. Hisense's latest smart air conditioner is on sale for just $249.99
Staying cool during the summer is about more than comfort; being overly hot can accelerate the aging process and be the difference between life and death. The NIH has guidance on how to handle hot weather, including a recommendation to stay in a place with air conditioning, if possible. Luckily for those in warmer climates, Hisense's BTUWC08W25A, its latest smart air conditioner, is on sale for $249.99 ($50 off) at Amazon, which is its lowest price ever. I've tested a previous-gen window air conditioner from Hisense, and was impressed at how easy it was to set up and use. The 8,000 BTU WC08W25A can fit into windows that are at least 13.6 inches high and between 24.5 and 39 inches wide. It cools down your entire room more evenly by pushing air in four directions simultaneously, which can help you feel cooler faster, given the way warm air rises. You can control the four-mode air conditioner with a remote, touch-sensitive buttons, or the ConnectLife App, assuming it's connected to your Wi-Fi network. Using the mobile app allows you to manage your air conditioner from anywhere. You can turn it on when you're returning home, which can help reduce your utility bill and ensure the room is cool when you enter. If you have a regular schedule, you can also set it to automatically turn on and off at specific times. The WC08W25A is designed to cool rooms up to 350 square feet, but Hisense offers similar models with the same features that are appropriate for areas double that size.
