M9 AITO Review: The New Executive Standard in Smart Luxury
In today's business world, where agility, efficiency, and sustainability are as valuable as profit margins, the tools executives rely on—including their vehicles—are evolving rapidly. Enter AITO, the new luxury mobility brand disrupting conventional standards with a blend of intelligent engineering, performance, and pure design language. As part of my recent participation in AITO's Cyber Media Tour in Chongqing, I had the opportunity to see firsthand how it is, powered by SERES' groundbreaking super factory, carving out a future where mobility is not just about transportation, but about intelligent lifestyle enablement for the executive class. Beyond Luxury: A New Class of Business Mobility AITO stands for 'Adding Intelligence to Auto," and the name isn't just marketing fluff. It reflects a bold ambition: to merge technological leadership with luxury design. What impressed me most was how AITO is not content with simply following the Tesla or Mercedes-Benz playbook. It is creating its own category—the "executive smart vehicle"—defined not just by premium finishes, but by software-defined intelligence, adaptable comfort, and full-scenario driving support. This is not a brand chasing luxury for luxury's sake. It's defining it through intelligence, efficiency, and responsibility. In an age where business meetings are held over Zoom while on the move, and executives need restful, productive time between airports and boardrooms, AITO provides not just a ride—but a mobile sanctuary. AITO 9: A Flagship Fit for Executives The standout model during the tour was the AITO 9, a full-size flagship SUV engineered to impress at every level. It boasts a drag coefficient of 0.279 Cd, seamlessly marrying aerodynamics with design elegance. Inside, the level of detail is staggering—SURFLEX multi-layer cushions, Zero Gravity Seats 2.0 with 10 massage air bags, a 7.1.4 surround sound system powered by 2080W and 23 speakers, and a planetoid speaker with crystal dome lights that feel more suited to a luxury suite than a vehicle. Yet, the real genius of the AITO 9 lies in how it leverages technology to optimize driver and passenger experience. From adaptive chassis control, to multi-zone intelligent screens, to rear comfort functions like heating, massaging, and privacy controls, this is a vehicle built not just for motion but for mindfulness. On the test track, the AITO 9 accelerated from 0–100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, all while using LiDAR and camera-assisted dynamic response systems to manage S-curves with uncanny grace. It felt more like driving an intelligent assistant than a machine. The SERES Super Factory: Where Smart Mobility Is Born What truly elevates AITO beyond the spec sheet is its birthplace—the SERES Super Factory in Chongqing. This is not your average car assembly line. Spanning one million square meters, it's an ecosystem of 3,000+ intelligent robots, 9800-ton integrated die-casting systems, 100 percent automated critical production, and artificial intelligence (AI) vision inspection capable of analyzing 84 bolts per vehicle in a second. It's here where precision meets sustainability, powered by low-emission processes and smart logistics guided by automated guided vehicles (AGVs). Walking through the factory was like stepping into the future of manufacturing. Every step of the production process is digitized, monitored, and optimized for real-time decision-making. What does this mean for executives? Vehicles produced with millimeter-level assembly precision, AI-driven quality control, and real-time software updates ensure reliability at scale. AITO M5 and M7: Redefining Everyday Executive Utility Not every executive needs a full-size SUV like the AITO 9. For agile city dwellers and startup leaders, the AITO 5 and AITO 7 offer equally compelling options. The AITO 5 is a mid-size sport SUV with a futuristic design—think Falcon Eye LED headlights, dual-motor AWD, and a 1210 km range thanks to a pioneering range extender platform. Inside, its minimal yet opulent interior includes 12-way massage seating, a 128-color ambient lighting system, and a smart 15.6-inch central display that syncs across the digital ecosystem. Paired with seven driving assist features and an advanced surround camera system, the AITO 5 is the ultimate tool for urban executives who need both function and presence. Meanwhile, the AITO 7 delivers a family-meets-business solution with zero-gravity seats, tri-zone climate control, and flexible seating layouts. It caters to those who merge work and life seamlessly, offering enough space to turn the vehicle into a mobile conference room, a child-friendly lounge, or a retreat after a long day. Executive-Grade Intelligence Across the range, what truly differentiates AITO is its full-stack intelligence platform—hardware, software, and AI fused into every drive. Features include: Valet Parking Assist that memorizes and navigates parking locations autonomously Over-the-air (OTA) updates for performance and feature expansion 360-degree perception with 27+ sensors, LiDAR, and radar Four-zone voice interaction for hands-free control Driver monitoring systems to prevent fatigue-induced accidents These are not optional luxuries. They are now essential tools for executives navigating unpredictable schedules, long hours, and relentless demands. AITO enables safer, smarter driving with systems that think ahead, adapt in real time, and reduce decision fatigue—freeing up cognitive energy for what matters most. Why the World Needs Executive Smart Vehicles We are at an inflection point. Business mobility is no longer about horsepower or leather trims—it's about how a vehicle integrates with the executive's life. From productivity on-the-go to stress-reduction features, from sustainable range-extending technology to full-spectrum safety, AITO delivers a solution tailored to the speed, complexity, and pressure of the modern work environment. In an age of economic volatility, climate urgency, and digital transformation, the executive vehicle must be more than transportation—it must be a smart, reliable, and luxurious enabler of movement, wellness, and confidence. This is exactly the void AITO fills. Final Thoughts AITO may be a newcomer on the global stage, but it is already outpacing traditional players in innovation, delivery speed, and future readiness. What I experienced in Chongqing was more than a car review—it was a glimpse into the next era of intelligent executive mobility. With its intelligent design, precision engineering, and user-centric luxury, AITO doesn't just belong in the same sentence as the world's most elite car brands—it may very well be setting the new sentence. For executives, decision-makers, and innovators on the move, AITO is not just a smart choice. It's the new standard. My Thoughts as a CEO: For executives and CEOs, the AITO M9 isn't just a luxury SUV—it's a high-tech executive suite on wheels. While there are many advanced features, I am sharing five exclusive features that make it the ultimate "executive smart vehicle": 1. Private Cinema Office on the Move The M9 turns travel time into productive or relaxing time: A 32-inch retractable projector screen and ceiling-mounted projector let you run presentations or enjoy after-hours entertainment. Coupled with a 25-speaker HiFi system and multi-zone ambient lighting, it's ideal for boardroom briefings or winding down after investor meetings. 2. HarmonyOS Cockpit with Multi-Screen Collaboration A tri-screen dashboard (driver display, central touchscreen, passenger screen) and additional rear displays powered by Huawei's HarmonyOS offer seamless connectivity: Sync your calendar, video call the board, or mirror your Huawei phone effortlessly. Passenger screen can privately run presentations or control media—perfect for an assistant or client in the front seat. 3. Executive Seating Experience with Zero-Gravity Comfort The second-row "boss seats" are designed for senior leadership: Zero-gravity reclining seats with leg rests, massage, heating/cooling, and fold-out tables. Executive-level comfort, whether it's a 10-minute commute or a 2-hour cross-city drive. 4. Discreet Power with Extended Range & Autonomous Tech Choose between Extended Range (EREV) up to 1,400+ km or Full EV, both whisper-quiet and stress-free. Huawei ADS 2.0/3.0 autonomous features offer valet parking, intelligent route planning, and semi-autonomous driving—freeing up mental bandwidth for more strategic matters. 5. 75" AR Head-Up Display & Command Control A massive AR HUD overlays navigation, safety alerts, and calls right onto the windshield. You're always informed—without distraction. Paired with smart voice control, satellite communication, and remote access (even up to 30m from the vehicle), the M9 puts command in your voice and gestures. Why It's Built for the Boardroom Class The AITO M9 isn't just luxury—it's efficiency, privacy, and presence. It's the vehicle for leaders who want to: Work while moving, without compromise. Arrive in understated power, not ostentatious flash. Stay connected across meetings, regions, or even terrain. The AITO M9 merges show‑stopping luxury and next‑generation automotive tech: dazzling headlights, cinematic cabin, immersive AR, semi‑autonomous smarts, and 'zero‑gravity' comfort—all in a sleek aluminum-bodied SUV. If you're seeking a car that's more like a moving lounge-meets-smartphone, the M9 is truly unique.

Omoda: smart tech makes cars ‘luxury' now, not engine performance
Tech TG gets the lowdown on what makes a fancy car from Omoda Jaecoo UK chief, Gary Tan Skip 1 photos in the image carousel and continue reading Gary Tan, UK boss of the Omoda Jaecoo outfit, reckons luxury isn't about horses under bonnets or the smell of polished burr walnut anymore. It's about gadgets, glowing things, and digitised comfort. Fancier car brands might roll their quilted-leather armrests and shagpile car mats at that, but speaking to Tan said: 'Nowadays, especially the younger generation, they want a vehicle to be as smart as their phone, so we feel that making a car very smart is another way of luxury.' Advertisement - Page continues below Air purification for your hayfever? Check. Acoustic glass? Check. Fragrance patterns? Sure, why not. Once the domain of fancy six-figure saloons, now such features are available in cars costing less than £30k, alongside karaoke kit, of course. Tan says dealer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. 'Because the cars are so well specced and priced a segment below, customers have experienced features they never knew they needed. And once they've had them, it's quite hard to go back.' You might like Omoda has two trim choices to keep things simple, but shrewdly, it's also offering 70,000 miles' worth of RAC breakdown cover to build trust... and for those times you accidentally change the interface language into Turkish. Smart enough to drive itself? Not yet. Tan says there's more work to be done locally, highlighting roundabouts, potholes and poor data connectivity as critical obstacles to this development; 'The UK has very unique road conditions so we don't feel ready. Plus, in the UK, the internet speed is different from other countries.' Advertisement - Page continues below And by different, we presume he means 'slower'. What do you reckon? China's Hesai Group , the world's largest maker of automotive lidar sensors, plans to open its first plant outside the mainland in Southeast Asia next year. Chief financial officer Andrew Fan said on Wednesday the Shanghai-based company recently signed a land lease for the factory, with construction set to start later this year and production in late 2026. He did not give details. The factory will supply light detection and ranging sensors – which employ laser beams to measure distances to objects – to international marques that design and assemble smart vehicles, he added. 'From the end of 2026 or early 2027, Hesai will rely on the plant in Southeast Asia to serve some of our international clients,' Fan said. 'We are building overseas plants to implement our go-global strategy.' Hesai's AT128 long-range automotive lidar.
