Fire breaks out at Smiths Snackfood Co Limited warehouse in Adelaide
Australians have avoided some of their favourite snacks going into short supply after a fire broke out at the Smiths Snackfood Co Limited warehouse in Adelaide. Seven fire trucks were dispatched to the fire at the warehouse in Regency Park late on Monday night. Four firefighters donning respirators and wielding high-pressure hose lines were able to contain the blaze. The warehouse is responsible for the manufacturing of several iconic Aussie and American snackfoods including Smith's chips, Doritos, Twisties, Red Rock Deli chips, Burger Rings and Nobby's pub food snacks. A spokesperson from Pepsico said the small fire was 'quickly contained'. 'All team members are safe and the site is now operational,' they said. 'We thank local emergency services for their fast and effective response. 'Supply will not be impacted.'

PepsiCo Stock Popped Last Week After Earnings—Watch These Key Price Levels
Key Takeaways PepsiCo shares could remain on watchlists after surging last week following a better-than-expected earnings report and outlook from the beverage and snack food giant. The stock consolidated above the 50-day moving average in a pennant before breaking out from the pattern on above-average volume in Thursday's trading session, potentially paving the way for a longer-term bullish trend reversal. Investors should watch key overhead areas on PepsiCo's chart around $156, $168 and $180, while also monitoring a major support level near $ (PEP) shares could remain on watchlists after after surging last week following a better-than-expected earnings report and outlook from the beverage and snack food giant. The company attributed its results to steady demand for its lineup of sodas and strength in its international markets, which represent about 40% of the company's net revenue. PepsiCo said it expects full year core earnings to fall 1.5%, less than its prior forecast of a 3% decline. PepsiCo shares jumped more than 7% on Thursday following the release of the quarterly results, before slipping 1.5% on Friday to close the week at around $143. Despite the post-earnings surge, the stock is down 6% since the start of the year Below, we take a closer look at PepsiCo's chart and use technical analysis to identify key price levels worth watching out for. Pennant Pattern Breakout PepsiCo shares consolidated above the 50-day moving average (MA) in a pennant before breaking out from the pattern on above-average volume in Thursday's trading session, potentially paving the way for a longer-term bullish trend reversal. Moreover, the relative strength index confirms accelerating price momentum, through the post-earnings jump coincided with the indicator crossing into overbought territory. Let's point out three key overhead areas on PepsiCo's chart to watch if the shares trend higher and also identify a major support level worth monitoring during future retracements in the stock. Key Overhead Areas to Watch Following-through buying could see the shares climb to around $156. This area may provide overhead selling pressure near the November swing low and three closely aligned countertrend peaks that formed on the chart earlier this year. A successful close above this level may propel a move toward $168. The shares could run into resistance in this area near several peaks and troughs that developed on the chart between June and November. Further buying sets the stage for a rally to the $180 area. Investors who have accumulated shares at lower prices may decide to lock in profits in this region near a series of peaks that formed on the chart from April to September last year just below the stock's 2024 high. Major Support Level Worth Monitoring During pullbacks in PepsiCo's share price, it's worth monitoring the $132 level. This location on the chart finds a confluence of support near the 50-day MA, the base of the recent pennant pattern, and a period of sideways drift on the chart between mid-May and mid-June. Start your week smart: Zohran Mamdani, Vehicle strikes crowd, Texas floods, Tourist boat capsizes, ‘Shark Week'
It's been said that Britain and America are two nations divided by a common language. While that may be true, there is one thing both countries can agree on: Our shared love of a particular snack food. Care to guess which one it is? Here's what else you need to know to start your week smart. 🔦 Zohran Mamdani's stunning victory in the Democratic primary for New York City mayor sent shockwaves across the country. In short order, he went from nearly unknown outside NYC's five boroughs to a new national face of progressive challengers to both President Donald Trump and the Democratic Party establishment. If Mamdani wins November's general election, the 33-year-old state assemblyman and democratic socialist would make history as the city's first Muslim mayor. Mamdani has ambitious plans to tackle the city's housing crisis. He wants to freeze the rent for nearly 1 million New Yorkers living in rent-stabilized apartments and provide free bus service, universal child care and subsidized grocery stores — in part by raising taxes on people making more than $1 million. New Yorkers aren't the only ones trying to wrap their heads around Mamdani's victory. Democrats are inspired by his success, and they're embracing his energy, though not necessarily his ideas. Mamdani's creative advertisements, buzzy public appearances and viral videos garnered plenty of attention. Some think his strategy could be a model for other Democrats worried they're losing the battle for younger voters. CNN senior reporter and NYC native Edward-Isaac Dovere explains what Democrats can learn from this. Some have questioned Mamdani's criticism of Israel, and he's adjusting his tone to appeal to a broader swath of voters, including Jewish New Yorkers who might be hesitant to support him. Sen. Bernie Sanders offered some advice. Andrew Cuomo jumped back into the running as an independent and ramped up his efforts to push embattled incumbent Eric Adams out of the race. President Trump, meanwhile, threatened to arrest Mamdani.
