How to watch the USWNT vs. Canada in the Americans' latest international tune-up
Summertime, and the living is easy; players are jumpin' and the goal count is high. The top-ranked women's soccer team in the world continues its round of exhibitions with a Canadian friendly in the U.S. capital. The U.S. women's national team has not allowed a goal across its last four outings.
The Americans have won by a 4-0 final score in three straight friendlies. Last week, they put a combined 8-0 hurting on the Republic of Ireland. Dynamic forward Alyssa Thompson found the back of the net in both matches, while Rose Lavelle took a bow in her first USWNT showing since ankle surgery:

Head coach Emma Hayes said that she'd use the summer to test new call-ups and grant breathers to her players in European leagues. Hayes completely scrambled the starting lineup between the Ireland friendlies, and will all but certainly try more configurations in D.C.
The former Chelsea manager has prioritized the U.S. youth pipeline in her nascent tenure — after Sunday's action in Cincinnati, her first 24 matches at the helm have yielded 24 debut caps. Izzy Rodriguez, a fullback for the NWSL's Kansas City Current, scored in her very first USWNT look on Sunday.
In 66 total matches, the Americans have an absurd plus-147 goal differential versus Canada. This year's Canadian crew is led by goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan, a standout stopper with the San Diego Wave. Her domestic teammate Adriana Leon plays forward and leads the active roster with 44 international goals. Jessie Fleming is Canada's captain; she was forever enshrined in the country's sports history after her gold medal goal in 2020. Fleming also played under Hayes with Chelsea from 2020-24.

2008: 'Angela Hucles scored the game's only goal in second-half injury time as the United States women's national team defeated Canada, 1-0, to win the Peace Queen Cup on Saturday in Suwon, South Korea. Hucles, a midfielder, won the golden ball as the tournament's most valuable player.'
2012: 'The game was more than two hours old. Over the first 122 minutes of the United States women's soccer team's Olympic semifinal with Canada, the Americans had been shocked by three goals from their opponent's best player, boosted by three separate rallies to tie the score, and helped by a referee's call so unusual even their own players admitted they had never seen it before. But now it was the 123rd minute — and most likely the last minute of extra time in overtime — and one final hopeful cross was floating into the area in front of the Canadian goal. Suddenly, a pink headband rose high in the air and Alex Morgan, the speedy American star forward, used her head to send the ball on a perfect arc, just over the goalkeeper's hand and just under the crossbar, for a 4-3 victory. Old Trafford, the venerable stadium here, exploded for one final time on a chilly English night as the United States prevailed.'
