Heat warnings issued for southwest Saskatchewan
Heat warnings were issued for the province's southwest on July 7, 2025. (Courtesy: Environment and Climate Change Canada) Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has issued a heat warning for southwest Saskatchewan, as daily high temperatures are expected to reach 32 C. The warning covers most of the province's southwest corner including but not limited to Swift Current, Shaunavon, Maple Creek, Richmound and Leader. The heat is expected to move into the area on Tuesday – and last until Wednesday afternoon. 'Extreme heat can affect everyone's health,' the warning read. ECCC reminds residents that symptoms of heat exhaustion include headaches, nausea, dizziness, thirst, dark urine and intense fatigue. The heat warnings come as much of Saskatchewan's southeast and east central regions are under funnel cloud advisories. The area surrounding La Ronge also falls under an air quality warning due to wildfire activity. Current alerts can be found here.
