It is difficult to overstate how much money the Leitch family — me, my parents, their parents, their parents and a seemingly infinite gaggle of cousins — has given the St. Louis Cardinals in our lifetimes. Tickets. Jerseys. Hats. Bobbleheads. Ballpark beers. A red Cardinals dog bowl that currently sits outside my back door (I do not have a dog). It has not been a conscious decision to give so much of our collective income to the Cardinals. It just sort of happened.
