We Want To Knight Gary Oldman All Over Again After These Exciting Slow Horses Updates
Some of us are still reeling from the many twists of Slow Horses season four, but in a new interview with Deadline, its leading man Sir Gary Oldman gave fans three major reasons to be excited about the future of the show. First off, there's the fact that season five will premiere on Apple TV+ later this year. Season six, meanwhile, has already been shot, with Deadline's interview with the newly-knighted British actor claiming that the Emmy-winning spy drama has already been renewed for a seventh run. They said that the new batch of episodes is due to begin filming in London this autumn. HuffPost UK has contacted Apple TV+ for comment. Sir Gary described Slow Horses as 'truly the wonderful gift that keeps on giving'. The Oscar winner enthused: 'I just adore the hell out of it, and the people. It is just such a wonderful thing really to be part of.' 'We are so sort of contaminated with the idea of the spy world being and casinos and Aston Marti's that I think it connects with people because the people in it are ordinary people who do heroic things, without any gizmos,' he added. In an interview with BBC News last year, Sir Gary insisted that he is 'in it for the long run' and would continue playing Jackson Lamb as long as he's able. Since it began airing in 2022, Slow Horses has become one of Apple TV+'s flagship shows, winning near-unanimous critical acclaim as well as an Emmy and several TV Baftas. Based on the books by Mick Herron, the show also features Jack Lowden, Kristin Scott Thomas, Hugo Weaving, Jonathan Pryce and Sophie Okonedo among its current main cast. The first four seasons of Slow Horses are now streaming on Apple TV+, with the next instalments set to premiere later this year.
