Heatwave hits water, electricity supplies across much of Iran
A severe heatwave sweeping Iran has disrupted water and electricity supplies in much of the country, with reservoir levels dropping to their lowest point in a century, state media said Tuesday. At least 18 of the country's 31 provinces -- including Tehran -- have been affected by the extreme temperatures, which began on Friday and are expected to ease gradually by Thursday, according to meteorological authorities cited by state television. Vietnam tour boat survivor describes his escape
HA LONG BAY, Vietnam — A Vietnamese man who survived the capsizing of a tour boat in Ha Long Bay described his escape from the overturned vessel. At least 35 people were killed in the accident and a search is continuing for four who are still missing, according to Vietnamese state media. Authorities said that an earlier report of 38 dead and five missing was incorrect.
