Natalie Portman's $1,150 Sneakers Prove Her Footwear Budget Knows No Bounds

This year, the writer-director released Too Much, a new Netflix series that follows ad producer Jessica "Jess" Salmon on a post-breakup move to London. Then there's Good Sex, Dunham's forthcoming Netflix film, which is currently shooting in New York City. Both projects are delivering a healthy dose of style inspo—Too Much with funky feminine outfits, and easy-to-copy street style on the Good Sex set. Natalie Portman stars in the latter rom-com as Ally, a pragmatic couples' therapist fresh out of a decade-long relationship. Much like Dakota Johnson's Lucy in Materialists, Ally's closet reflects her career path. Blazers, button-downs, and city-proof flats present a polished front, but knowing the Dunham method, there's more complexity to her life (and style) than meets the eye. On July 15, the leading lady swapped her character's chic costumes for her signature off-camera uniform: jeans and sneakers. Portman paired a cropped white tee with ultra-wide-leg bottoms in a '90s-inspired light wash—three shades brighter than her usual indigo denim. $1,150 dad-ish sneakers, courtesy of Dior, peeked out from underneath the Black Swan star's elongated hems. At this point, the brand ambassador must reserve a closet just for the French atelier. Every time she steps out, she sports a new Dior tag. Her newest find? The C'est Dior Sneaker. Called a "bold and modern creation" by the brand, the calfskin sneakers are mainly ivory with a lightweight black sole. Each sidewall spotlighted three-dimensional "C" and "D" rubber letters, a Christian Dior calling card. Similarly, the monochrome tongues were stamped with the label's logo. Portman's Dior trainers prove the chunky sneaker trend is staying strong through flip-flops season. Every sneakerhead, from Johnson and Jennifer Lopez to Naomi Campbell and Kaia Gerber, have swapped slim silhouettes for bulky shoes straight out of a dad's closet in the '90s. Portman's sneakers, however, might be the most expensive take to surface. View Deal Portman's character, Ally, seems to prefer Mary Janes and leather loafers. Off-screen, the Oscar winner will never skip sneakers. She also owns the Chrono Sneaker, another equally-pricey pair from Dior, which retails for $1,190. The black-and-white Chronos are slightly more striking compared to her C'ests, without nixing the "CD" emblem on each sidewall. The upper's two-tone theme continues onto its heightened platform soles. View Deal Take it from Portman: Dior's sneakers are not to be ignored. Albeit with a few more zeros at the end, they're just as en vogue as best-sellers from Nike or Adidas. I tried on 14 Old Navy dresses, jumpsuits and more under $50 — they make me feel comfortable and chic as a 48-year-old mom

There was a time in the early 2000s when everything I owned was from Old Navy. Flash forward to me at 48, and I still can't get enough of the dependable and always affordable brand. Their current summer collection is particularly on-point — something I learned when I decided to pop into the store on my way back from an emergency evening milk run (how do we go through it so fast!?). I tried on over a dozen items, and I wanted every single one of them. From casual dresses to cute jumpsuits, these all make me feel comfortable and chic, and all work for my busy life as a mom of two. The best part? Everything is currently under $50 thanks to Old Navy's massive sale on just about everything. Check out my summer style recommendations below. From $30 at Old Navy Whether you are looking for a comfy beach cover-up or a low-maintenance dress for running errands, this 100 per cent cotton T-shirt dress checks all the boxes. I tried this on in three colours, including classic black, and really liked the look and feel of them all. The slide slits also give it a little more of an edgy style while allowing you to move with (or chase) your kiddos. From $20 $40 at Old Navy I don't always love dresses that fall above the knee, but this mini with its side pockets was just too cute not to try. I was immediately drawn to the bright colourway and appreciated the wide adjustable straps. The 100 per cent viscose rayon fabric is curve-hugging without being too tight, and the fit-and-flare shape is super flattering — no wonder shoppers are calling this the "perfect summer dress." One thing? My usual size XS fit fine, but I found it to be a bit looser than I would like in the bust. $27 $55 at Old Navy I absolutely loved this dress. The fit, length and comfort were all off the charts. I tried it on in three different colourways and loved them all. Available in regular, tall and petite sizes, this dress is a great option for a variety of body types. With more than 1,600 five-star reviews, I'm not the only one raving about this "versatile" and "flattering" frock. From $22 $45 at Old Navy This 100 per cent cotton twill dress is so light and airy. The fabric feels great, and the sleeves can be worn on or off the shoulders depending on your mood and how much coverage you want. Again, I'm not the biggest fan of short hemlines, but I found the silhouette to be really flattering paired with longer sleeves. The hidden side pockets are, of course, an awesome bonus. From $38 $55 at Old Navy I've always wanted to be someone who could pull off a jumpsuit but never found one I felt comfortable in — until now. This linen/rayon number fits my smaller frame perfectly. I love the hip pockets, four-button front and adjustable straps. I will say it took a little muscle to get the fitted waist above my hips, and I wish it had a zip for easy on and off, but, good golly, did it look and feel great on. $44 $55 at Old Navy This easy-on, easy-off patterned midi dress was one of the most comfortable of the bunch. Of course, I loved the on-seam pockets and adjustable straps of this 100 per cent cotton twill dress. And the longer length is right up my alley! I was on the fence about the tie-front, but on this dress, it just seems to work. The dress totally gives off, as one customer says, a "romantic" and "summery" vibe. $35 $50 at Old Navy This dress is a perfect example of one that looks way better on than it does on the rack. The V-neck tie front is fun and sexy, and I love the look of the ruffled waist. The smocked bodice of this 100 per cent cotton twill dress also allows for a super comfortable fit. I never had a purple dress on my bingo card for summer, but this comfy one with pockets has totally won my heart. $24 $35 at Old Navy For me, it's all about bright colours this summer. The super soft rayon/spandex blend of fabric would fall nicely over my swimsuit or out and about for a casual day. The high neck provides great coverage, and with a cute pair of sandals or wedges, it's perfect for summer. It does appear to wrinkle easily, which can be a pain, so have a steamer handy when you're ready to wear. $31 $45 at Old Navy Me? In a romper? No way! I rarely wear shorts, but this one was too cute not to try. I love the cut-out in the middle, and the 100 per cent cotton fabric feels so great against my sensitive skin. The adjustable spaghetti straps allowed me to get the perfect fit on top. Consider me a convert! $25 $50 at Old Navy The collar of this linen/rayon dress is what drew me in. I loved the black, as well as a burnt orange hue called ginger. The button-down front is also a nice touch, and the side pockets are a great addition. This dress will work perfectly on those humid days when you want to look cute but don't want anything clingy. From $20 $25 at Old Navy I can see this "easy to wear" dress being a total go-to for me as a low-maintenance mom of two. I get a bit self-conscious about my mommy-middle, so I love that this dress is loose-fitting but still stylish and trendy. $22 $45 at Old Navy I've never owned anything gingham (seriously!) but this cheerful, sunny number is really tempting me. Just a note: I would recommend investing in some skin-toned underwear if you opt for this style, as the fabric is quite lightweight. $35 $50 at Old Navy This dress can take you from a day at the beach to a night out in a pinch. Humid days will be much more survivable while wearing this flowy frock. However, if you need a dress with more chest support, this might not be a fit for you. $50 at Old Navy The cushioned footbed of these platform wedge sandals makes them a ridiculously comfortable pair of sandals. As you may have spotted above, I tried them on with all the dresses and loved how they looked, but more importantly, how they felt. The faux leather straps don't rub against the skin, and I love an adjustable buckle. I sent my sister a picture of them, and she immediately texted back, "Get me a pair too!"

I've been desperate for a pair of £85 mesh jelly shoes for summer – I found the EXACT dupe for a tenner

THEY'RE one of the most divisive fashion trends to have made a comeback this year. But one stylish woman who was delighted by the re-emergence of jelly shoes had set her sights on a pair of ballet-style mesh jelly flats. 6 6 6 The only problem? They were £85 and out of stock. So Abby was thrilled when she popped into her local Asda and came across an almost exact copy of the Iro shoes, for just £10. She took to TikTok to share her find, as she began her video: "I need to show you girls what I've just bought. "I am so happy with them. "You girls are all going to be like, what the f**k has she bought now?" Even Abby's pal "ripped the s**t" out of her when she told her she liked the shoes, but she insisted she has "so many ways" in her head to style them up. And while she's had the designer footwear on her Net-a-Porter wish list for months, but they've "been out of stock for the longest time". "They're £85, which I know is so ridiculous for a pair of jelly shoes, but I just love them," she said. She then delightedly held up the Asda ones. "They look identical to the ones from Net-a-Porter, but they're not £85, they were £10!"she gushed. "I'm so happy with them. I know you're all thinking, 'Yuck, they're hideous'. "You wait until you see me style them because you're all going to change your mind, I promise you!" Asda's version also come in different colours - including pink, orange, green and black - just like the Iro ones. "Asda pulling through again," Abby captioned her video. And, somewhat surprisingly, the comments section was almost immediately filled with people praising Abby for the find. "OMG I love them! You make my day darling! You are also a bad influence on me," one laughed. How Asda has upped it's game By Fabulous' Fashion Director Tracey Lea Sayer Take a whizz round the aisles in Asda it is hard not to notice how good the George at Asda clothing range is at the minute. Add into the mix their recent collaboration with fashion designer Roksanda, celebrating 40 years of London Fashion Week, which is full of the designer's signature colour blocking dresses, oversized Borg fleeces and bold stripe co-ords, it is easy to see why the brand is on fire! All proceeds from the range go to The British Fashion Council to help promote young designers, so a win win! There also seems to be a return to quality in the clothing range. 'Style Stories' with fashion influencer Erica Davies is a capsule collection of Autumn must-haves which delivered not only on style, but on great pocket friendly prices starting from £7. Gorgeous quilted jackets, slogan sweats and a chocolate faux sheepskin flying jacket are among my faves. Plus, George at Asda has just been crowned with the Best Kidswear in our Fabulous Fashion awards voted for by the Fabulous readers. Click to buy enables you to shop the whole range online or you can just have a browse while you do the weekly shop. You are welcome! "Love them, I had something similar 35 years ago when I was 10," another said, adding "on my way to Asda!" "I have a gold sparkly pair of these from Primark from about 15 years ago- will get them out of the loft!!!" a third remarked. "I used to wear those in the 80's with my jelly bag," someone else remembered. "They blistered the hell out of my feet. Love them though!" "I absolutely love them," another agreed. "Can't wait to see you style them and love love love the fact they're clear." "I'm running to Asda for Orange ones if they've got them cos WOW!" someone else exclaimed. Not everyone was on board with the trend though. "I fear only you could pull these off... my ugly toes in them," one wrote. As another insisted: "My feet could never!" 6

I'm a mega Kmart fan - and these are the must-have items I'm obsessed with right now

A fashion-forward mum has wowed shoppers with Kmart's stunning new autumn range, featuring four stylish outfits that cost less than $70 each. Zeljka Abaza, from Melbourne, shared a try-on haul video showcasing four flattering outfits, with her most affordable look costing just $50. Customers looking to upgrade their wardrobe for the cooler months will be delighted to know the four outfits are available in sizes six to 20. Starting with a fun jumper, the fashion blogger, known as Zee, stepped out in a chic $28 Bow Knit Jumper, and $25 Tie Waist Pants in Black. Her second outfit was a $25 Long Sleeve Poet Blouse in the Core Stripe colourway, with the $30 Wide Leg Pocket Jeans in Ecru, which have recently been linked to a near identical 'dupe' of Victoria Beckham 's $800 design. Up third was a more relaxed ensemble, perfect for the weekend or out to brunch with friends. Zee paired together a bargain $15 Long Sleeve Drop Shoulder T-shirt in Red Stripe, with a $22 Fitted Cardigan in Cherry Red draped over her shoulders. Her jeans were the ever popular $30 Paperbag Jeans in Light Wash, with an elasticated waistband. Finishing on a high, she wore a very cosy looking (and affordable) $25 Off Shoulder Jumper in a light grey called Satelite M. For her pants, Zee kept it equally as comfortable in another Tie Waist style in Taupe - also $25. Zee styled all the outfits with her own beige ankle boots and gold jewellery to elevate the looks. 'Things I'm loving at Kmart,' Zee said on Instagram. Her video has been viewed more 52,000 times - with many saying they couldn't wait to get their hands on the 'lovely looks' at Kmart. 'Such beautiful pieces, how cute is that bow cardi,' said one. 'The red stripes and sweater and the last outfit! So luxe,' another commented. Many praised the budget retailer for offering luxe items for less, but some said certain items hadn't hit their local store just yet: 'I need these white jeans, but our local Kmart doesn't have them yet.' 'Love all your picks,' another shared. 'I love the last look, loving the neutral colours.' Shoppers have been sharing rave reviews on the new items, including the off-shoulder jumper (which is also available in chocolate brown), which has received a five out of five-star rating. 'How cute is that knit,' one said. While another customer said she couldn't get enough of the blue shirt and white jeans combo.
