Today, it's the Steelers' new throwback uniforms, which were unveiled on Monday. The Steelers are paying tribute to the 1933 team, which was the first in team history, by wearing uniforms inspired by their inaugural uniforms. The Steelers have worn them once before, in 1994. Falcons' rivals unveil alternate white helmets for 2025 NFL season
Atlanta Falcons fans have patiently waited for the team to make the full-time switch to their throwback uniforms featuring the iconic red helmet. While there's been no announcement by the team as of yet, Atlanta's most-hated rival has unveiled a new helmet. On Wednesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter shared a photo of the New Orleans Saints' new alternate white helmet, which they will reportedly wear three times this season. The body of the helmet is white with a gold logo and gold facemask, as you can see below. New Orleans Saints unveil new white helmet for 2025 season Tampa Bay Buccaneers All-Pro LT undergoes knee surgery In other NFC South news, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have suffered a concerning injury. According to NFL reporter Rick Stroud, Buccaneers left tackle Tristan Wirfs underwent surgery on his right knee Tuesday. The All-Pro offensive lineman is expected to miss the first couple of weeks of the 2025 regular season. "Wirfs aggravated a right knee injury in the offseaon that forced him to miss only one game in 2024," wrote Stroud. "The Bucs scheduled arthroscopic surgery for Wirfs Tuesday, and some additional minor damage was found." As for the Falcons, they are set to report to training camp in two weeks. Steelers unveil throwback uniforms for 2025 season
On Monday morning, just days before the start of training camp, the Pittsburgh Steelers made a huge announcement. The team released a hype video all across social media, showing the 1933 throwback uniforms the team is planning to wear in the 2025 season. The uniform is a new design that pays tribute to the 1933 season when Steelers football began. According to the press release, the Steelers will wear the uniforms on October 26 when the Steelers take on the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football. "We're excited to unveil our new throwback uniforms which not only pay tribute to the origins of the Steelers franchise but also to the deep connection we have to our hometown of Pittsburgh," said Steelers President Art Rooney II. "It's especially fitting that we'll debut these uniforms on Sunday night, October 26 when we play the Green Bay Packers – another franchise in the league with a long and rich history." The Steelers are set to kick off training camp on Thursday at Saint Vincent College. In addition to the 1933 throwbacks, the Steelers are also planning to wear their Color Rush uniforms this season.
