Viktor Gyokeres 'tells friends and family his next club' after Arsenal and Manchester United bids
Viktor Gyokeres has reportedly told friends and family that he will sign for Arsenal this summer. Sporting are demanding at least €70million (£59.6m) to begin negotiations over a fee, and reports last week suggested that Arsenal are now clear favourites to sign Gyokeres despite seeing an opening bid worth €55m (£47m) reportedly rejected. Advertisement Gyokeres has set his sights on playing Champions League football, which has led to him 'officially rejecting' United and a reunion with former Sporting head coach Ruben Amorim. There were suggestions from Gyokeres' camp that the player and Sporting has a 'gentleman's agreement' to sell for around £59m, which prompted a remarkable denial from club president, Frederico Varandas aimed at Gyokeres' agent, Hasan Cetinkaya. Even so, talkSPORT report on Thursday that Gyokeres' confidence is so high that he has told friends and family that he expects to be an Arsenal player next season.

Arsenal hopeful of deal to sign Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera
Arsenal are hopeful of agreeing a deal to sign Cristhian Mosquera after holding talks with Valencia over the Spain under-21 international. Mikel Arteta is keen to strengthen his defensive options and has identified Mosquera – who came through Valencia's academy and has played 90 games for the first team – as their main target to provide back-up to William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães. Arsenal are scheduled to hold more talks after their initial offer of about £16m for the 21-year-old, who also has interest from Real Madrid, was rejected. They are expected to return with a slightly improved bid that could persuade Valencia to sell. Personal terms are not expected to be an issue for Mosquera, who featured against England in Spain's quarter-final defeat at the European Under-21 Championship last Saturday. Arsenal are also expected to wrap up the signing of Christian Nørgaard from Brentford in the coming days having agreed a fee worth up to £15m for the Denmark midfielder. He will be joined by Martín Zubimendi from Real Sociedad but Thomas Partey looks poised to leave after failing to agree a contract extension. Nottingham Forest's hopes of signing Timothy Weah and Samuel Mbangula from Juventus for a combined £19.6m have been dashed after the pair rejected the move. The United States forward Weah – a son of Ballon d'Or winner George – and the Belgian winger Mbangula were left out of the Juventus squad beaten 5-2 by Manchester City on Thursday having told the Italian club that they were not interested in joining the Premier League side. Diaz is annoyed at Liverpool Pipe Sierra, who regularly reports on Diaz and other Colombians in Europe, suggests that Diaz's entourage believe Liverpool haven't lived up to their promises. 'Luis Díaz and his camp are annoyed with Liverpool's stance,' Sierra wrote on X. 'They feel the club has gone back on their word (yet again with the player). BRYAN MBEUMO should be a Manchester United player by the end of next week. Despite Brentford rejecting a second bid of £62.5million on Friday, the transfer is still expected be approved after Tuesday as United enter a new financial year when PSR resets on June 30. 3 3 That allows the Cameroon international's fee to be included in the club's accounts at the end of next season. Mbeumo, 25, will sign a five-year contract worth around £180,000 a week. But, contrary to reports, the Red Devils have not set a date for his medical just yet. Mbeumo has informed Brentford and Tottenham of his decision to join United, according to The Athletic. The winger enjoyed a standout season, scoring a career-best 20 Premier League goals and providing seven assists to help Brentford secure a top-half finish - only Mo Salah, Alexander Isak and Erling Haaland notched more. To compare, United's highest goalscorers Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo scored just eight goals in the league last season. Additionally, only two Prem players covered more distance or attempted more sprints last term, making Mbeumo one of the hardest grafters in the league. Boss Ruben Amorim wants him signed in time for the start of pre-season training on July 7. Mbeumo is under contract at Brentford until June 2026 and they have an option to extend the deal by a further 12 months, with likes of Arsenal, Newcastle and Spurs previously linked. Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign an exciting left-winger. It's a busy summer at Anfield. Richard Hughes is gearing up for one of the best windows in Premier League history. Already this has been a sensational transfer period for Liverpool. The Reds have clearly made themselves a stronger team by bringing in Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez. Schluter was the youngest player in Blackpool's history when he made his debut in the EFL Trophy at just 15-years-old and nine months. He's very highly regarded and it looks like Liverpool might have got themselves a real gem to add to an already talented left-wing department at the club. Schluter likely won't get a first team chance any time soon, although you never know given the Reds have always been very keen to promote young talent. However, the most likely situation given his age is that he will join the club's U18 side or the U21 team, where he could be working alongside Rob Page. Nonetheless, this seems like a huge coup. Signing a historic club's youngest ever player, who they rated very highly is always nice to see.
