Rachel Brosnahan Says DC Co-Chief Peter Safran Won't Travel With Her for a Valid Reason
Rachel Brosnahan may be a key piece of Superman's world, and thus the DCU going forward, but apparently Peter Safran, who runs the studio alongside James Gunn, won't travel with the actress. But that's because she's kind of cursed. Stopping by 'The Tonight Show' on Wednesday night, Brosnahan explained that she has been plagued by travel woes for about a decade, meaning a global press tour for 'Superman' has been difficult, to say the least. According to the actress, she always gets where she needs to go, 'but it's never not as stressful as humanly possible to get there.' 'Simon Cowell: The Next Act,' Harry Jowsey Dating Show Among New Reality Series Greenlit by Netflix Apparently, Safran has been witness to the curse, and as such, distanced himself. 'Literally, Peter Safran, who co-runs DC studios, won't travel with me,' Brosnahan admitted with a laugh. 'Like, people don't believe — no, no, I'm so serious. He was like, 'I'm not getting on a plane with you.' And he didn't!' Brosnahan didn't specify what misfortune Safran got to see to convince him not to travel with her, but explained to host Jimmy Fallon that the spectrum varies. Sometimes her troubles include massive flight delays and cancellations, sometimes lost luggage, or occasionally even crazier outcomes. 'It's everything, I feel like the number of times that somebody looked at me — nobody believes the curse, I should say, until they travel with me — and the number of times that somebody's looked at me and been like, 'Ma'am, I'm so sorry, I've just never seen this before,' is too many times.' So, amid the 'Superman' press run, Brosnahan sought out professional help — from a witch. 'Yeah, I called a witch,' she admitted. 'I brought her to my house. She brought a wishing well, and a wand, and she signed an NDA, and we tackled the curse together.' Brosnahan swore that whatever she and the witch did together worked, so time will tell if Safran and others might change their mind on traveling with her. Dubai-bound Emirates passengers stranded overnight at Zurich Airport after flight delay
Passengers on Emirates flight EK086 bound for Dubai endured a gruelling night at Zurich Airport after their flight was delayed overnight on July 19 due to a reported technical issue. While some travellers were provided with hotel accommodation, others — particularly those holding single-entry Schengen visas — were unable to leave the airport terminal. With the airport closing at 11pm, these passengers found themselves effectively stranded, without access to food, rest facilities, or clear information. Some affected passengers turned to social media to document their frustration. 'We literally have nowhere to go and no way to wait this out comfortably. Flight back tomorrow at 8pm as Emirates airline announced," Negin Jafari, one of the passengers, posted at around 1am. By 2am on Sunday (July 20), the same passenger shared a photo of makeshift beds inside the terminal, writing: 'So this is how it ends up for us. We have to wait here till tomorrow for any updates. The only hope for food is when the Emirates lounge opens at 8.30am. Just wait and survive the night somehow.' Later that morning, at 7.58am, she reported that staff had begun waking passengers. 'They just came and woke everyone up because the airport is opening, and apparently these 'beds' have to go!' she wrote. Her 9am update summed up the mood: 'We're still stuck here — hungry, exhausted, and with no clear answers. We can't even leave this area to buy food ourselves. Literally trapped in the airport with nothing. This is unbelievable." Frustrated, she added: "No one is taking responsibility! They just keep telling us to wait for someone from Emirates to show up… and we're still waiting." In a statement to Khaleej Times, an Emirates spokesperson confirmed the delay. "Emirates flight EK086 from Zurich to Dubai on July 19experienced an overnight delay due to a technical issue. Affected passengers have been provided with food and refreshments, and hotel accommodation where possible. "Regrettably, some passengers were unable to leave the airport; however, we worked closely with the airport authority to ensure they received the best possible support under the circumstances." The airline added that the flight has been rescheduled for departure at 8pm local time on July 20. 'Emirates sincerely apologises for any inconvenience caused. The safety of our passengers and crew is of the utmost importance,' the spokesperson added.

Video: Dubai-Kozhikode flight cancelled after passengers 'locked in' for 4 hours with no AC
Passengers onboard an Air India Express flight bound for Kozhikode were left sweltering inside the aircraft for over four hours on Friday morning, only to be told that the flight had been cancelled. Flight IX 346, scheduled to depart from Dubai at 9am, began boarding around 8.15am. But what followed, passengers said, was a prolonged and agonising wait on the tarmac with no air conditioning, no updates, and growing frustration. At 12.15pm, they were finally asked to disembark after being informed that the flight had been cancelled due to operational reasons. 'There was no air conditioning and it was extremely hot and uncomfortable the entire time,' said Anjali Mohan, a Dubai resident who shared videos from inside the aircraft with Khaleej Times. One clip shows passengers using safety cards to fan themselves, while others can be seen repeatedly adjusting air vents and overhead fans in a desperate attempt to cool down. Watch a video here: "We were just waiting, without any clarity on when this would end. I had to take emergency leave from work and miss an important function I had planned. I was already feeling weak, and sitting in those conditions for so long only made it worse.' She later updated Khaleej Times and said: 'They've (airline) finally decided to take us to a hotel. We're being told the next flight will only be at 3.40am (India time) tomorrow (July 19).' Another passenger, Ziyaf Mohamed, echoed her frustration. 'We were locked inside the aircraft since early morning, with barely any updates. The heat was unbearable and people were visibly uncomfortable,' he said. 'I had to miss an important work commitment. Many of us felt unwell. It was a terrible experience; we felt completely helpless and ignored.' As of 1pm, passengers had been taken back to the terminal. 'There's a huge crowd and no clarity,' said one passenger. 'Everyone's just waiting for answers.' Meanwhile, Air India Express flight IX 523 from Thiruvananthapuram to Abu Dhabi was also delayed for about 1.5 hours. The plane was supposed to take off at 1.15pm (India time) on Friday, but was moved to 2.40pm same day. The two delayed flights are the latest in a growing list of disruptions involving Air India Express. Just a day earlier (Thursday), the airline cancelled a Dubai-bound flight from Jaipur at the last minute, after passengers had waited for hours at the airport. Its incoming flight from Dubai to Jaipur also failed to operate due to a reported technical snag. Flight tracking data reviewed by Khaleej Times shows that the airline has cancelled more than 30 flights across sectors since mid-June, including repeated cancellations last month between Dubai and Lucknow over three consecutive days. Passengers have repeatedly complained about poor communication and lack of support during these disruptions. An email sent to Air India Express regarding a separate cancellation earlier this week is still awaiting a response, with the airline stating it would need at least a day to reply.

Airline's Jane Boulton left red-faced as iconic no-nonsense easyJet star admits she's missed her own flight for the very first time
Airline's iconic no-nonsense former check-in manager Jane Boulton has been left red-faced as she admitted to fans she missed her own flight this week. Jane shot to fame in the early noughties as ITV cameras followed her and the rest of her easyJet colleagues as they dealt with day-to-day operations of the busy low-cost airline. Boulton, who was based in London Luton, was known for her sharp wit, and less than sympathetic approach to passengers who had missed their flights. However, it appears the former airline worker-turned social media star has been dealt her karma as she told fans she missed her own flight for the very first time. Taking to Instagram on Friday, she said: 'Came to for an interview with Lewis Nicholls yesterday and, guess what guys, for the first time in my life it was not easy because I did not get there on time. 'We got stuck in the most horrific traffic on the way to Gatwick, there was an accident and literally we came off the motorway to queue up for the Gatwick turn off and it took us probably an hour to get from there.' Jane added that her 40-minute usual journey took a whooping two hours as she raced to catch her flight. She continued: 'We missed the check-in by how long? One minute. And as nice as I was... but no, she wasn't having any of it. 'So we missed our little flight with Eastern Airways and had to book on a train, so we should have arrived here at 10 yesterday morning and we got here at about four, three o'clock.' 'So I know how people feel now, and I can honestly say a lot of people out there are probably thinking 'karma'.' The mum-of-three went on to reveal she's staying at the picturesque Cornwall Hotel and Spa while in the tourist hotspot. Fans flooded Jane with comments, with many repeating her iconic phrases from Airline back to here. One wrote: 'Well I'm sorry but a coffee shop does not look like departures (love you Jane).' A second posted: 'Jane, it's a plane not a bus, much love as always though.' 'It is easy if you get here on time as Jane Boulton once told a customer,' joked a third follower. While a fourth penned: 'A coffee shop is not departures!' Jane, Now a married mother-of-three living in South London, famously had to put up with some very angry passengers and previously revealed the truth about Airline. She no longer works in the airline industry and quit the business in 2014. She now runs her own company called Party Paradise UK. The show ended in 2006 and Jane said she still keeps in touch with co-stars Leo Jones and Katrina Leeder. Jane has now gone viral TikTok with clips of her comeback from the show still being sent around. The videos have been viewed more than 26 million times.

I landed in China and wasn't allowed to leave the airport after making a shock discovery in my bag... 18 hours later I was on a flight home to Australia
A young woman has shared her horror experience after being stranded in an airport in China for 18 hours and then flying back to Australia because she lost her passport. Maddi Healey's passport went missing on a flight from Sydney to Guangzhou earlier this month as she was embarking on her dream holiday. Her and a friend were looking forward to visiting the world famous Great Wall of China but she didn't get out of the airport. Her holiday was over after she couldn't find her passport when she got to the customs desk. 'We turned the bag inside out and searched my friend's bag. It was not there,' she told Yahoo. 'I then noticed a decent-sized rip in the top of my backpack that was not there before leaving for China. 'Something didn't feel right. By this point, my friend and I had to make the tough decision as to whether or not she would continue the trip solo in the hope that I would recover my passport and meet up with her. We said our goodbyes.' The 20-year-old was then forced to wait for 18 hours without internet or power access. She said she was given very little information on what would happen to her and the Australian embassy couldn't help because she hadn't gone through customs. 'About seven hours in a lovely man who was working at the international desk came over and offered his help. He sat with me and booked me a ticket back to Sydney. I ended up paying $660,' Maddi said. 'I believe that if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have gotten home the way I did and in such a timely manner. I was in complete despair, filled with fear and frustration.' Maddi told fellow Aussie travellers to keep their passports 'strapped to you at all times'. 'Don't assume everyone has the same level of respect for your belongings. Have all your documents photographed and saved in your phone,' she said. 'I was extremely disheartened that I was missing out on a trip that I had dreamt of for years.' Maddi also said there needed to be more services to help Aussies who are not yet in a country, but have left the plane. 'Being unable to be helped by the embassy due to a matter of metres is really hard. I hope no one else has to experience this during their travels,' she said. There has been a substantial increase in the number of Australian passports stolen, with 1,942 reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade between 2023 and 2024. It was a 28 per cent increase compared to the previous year. In December, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) released its 2023-24 Consular State of Play report, which showed how many Aussies needed consular assistance and crisis support overseas. DFAT responded to 9,067 consular assistance cases over the period which was a seven per cent increase from the previous year. The country where Australians needed the most hekp overseas was Thailand, with 827 consular cases. China recorded 309 cases.
