Get the Action Camera You Deserve This Prime Day
Skip to main content Action cameras are perfect for travel, social media vlogging, and careening around the lake on a jet ski. Upgrade your action camera with one of these great Prime Day deals. All products featured on WIRED are independently selected by our editors. However, we may receive compensation from retailers and/or from purchases of products through these links. There are a lot of action cameras on sale right now, but this is the best deal. The Hero 13 Black was a big update for GoPro's flagship cam. It now features an interchangeable lens system, which makes it a much more versatile camera. If the standard lens doesn't fit your use case, there's also an Ultra Wide Lens Mod ($96) with a 177-degree field of view, a Macro Lens Mod ($130) for close-ups, and an Anamorphic Lens Mod ($130) with a 21:9 aspect ratio and those sweet, sweet movie-style lens flares. The Hero 13 Black also finally got a magnetic mounting system, and a new, larger battery that lasts up to an hour and 45 minutes when shooting 4K (battery life depends a lot on ambient temps; if it's hot, that number will drop). GoPro has also dropped a white version and a forest green version if black is too boring for you. Just look at that flip-up screen, and imagine your lovely mug reflected at you like the light of a thousand suns. Doesn't your lovely mug deserve a Leica lens and glorious 8K video selfies? Selfie video? Velfies? I don't know what the kids call it, but if you're into it this is a great deal on a serious upgrade from your phone. Read my full review of the Ace Pro 2 for all the details, but everything you want is here–a large 1/1.3-inch sensor capable of 8K video at 30 fps, great audio, best-in-class low-light video, and good battery life. There's even support for log video and USB mic connections when you hit your auteur stage. This is the lowest price we've ever seen for the Ace Pro 2. The Insta360 X4 is a great deal at this price. Even at full price, it's our favorite budget 360 camera thanks to great 1/2-inch sensors, which can capture up to 8K video. The dynamic range is very good compared to everything but the newer Insta360 X5, which is better. The other major thing you give up compared to the X5 is PureVideo mode, which really helps in low light. The low-light capabilities of the X4 are, frankly, dreadful. Still, you're saving $165 off the price of the X5, in light of that these are not huge sacrifices. The X4 has good battery life and, like the X5, can be used in single-lens mode, giving you a 4K action camera in addition to your 360 camera.

Strictly star fights back tears as she reveals holiday disaster just weeks after nightmare theft
A DEVASTATED Strictly star has shared her holiday disaster - just weeks after a nightmare theft. Influencer and YouTuber Saffron Barker, 24, starred on the BBC show back in 2019. 5 5 Saffron jetted out to Dubai along with her parents, as well as boyfriend Josh Miln. In her latest YouTube vlog, she opened up to fans about an unfortunate mishap on the holiday. Saffron surprised her parents with a yacht trip - which the whole group had been enjoying. Disaster struck when Saffron's vlogging camera accidentally fell into the sea. Speaking to viewers, Josh explained how a member of staff picked up a nearby towel - with the expensive tech slipping and falling overboard. Earlier in the video, Saffron reiterated it was accidental and not the staff member's fault. She said: "It means I've lost all my footage and camera which I've obviously just bought because I got it stolen in the US. "So that's another £1000 camera just gone. But for me, I think I'm so upset because it's every I vlogged this trip, it's before this trip. It's basically all my footage." A scuba team was dove down to try and recover the camera - in the hope its SD Card may be recoverable. Josh later said: "The guy who went down, he saw the anchor and said it was dragging. So, we have moved since we docked. Emotional moment Saffron Barker fights back tears as she opens up on armed car robbery that's left her stranded in America "So the chances of getting the camera are very low." Last month, Saffron had a nightmare experience while she and Josh were visiting the USA. She shared her harrowing experience in a candid TikTok make-up tutorial, explaining the aftermath after men broke into her car. Explaining these men were armed, Saffron said: 'I honestly can't leave the US right now and everything I had with me was completely stolen. "If I'm being honest, this trip has just not gone to plan at all. I've suffered the worst pain I've ever felt in my life.' What was meant to be a fresh start for Saffron and Josh quickly turned into a nightmare. After a difficult period, the couple decided to try and salvage their trip with a road trip from Hollywood to Las Vegas. Renting a Jeep, they set off vlogged their journey. About two hours into the drive, the pair stopped at Peggy Sue's Diner, a nostalgic spot Saffron had visited with her parents many years ago. She admitted: 'We were completely naive. There were lots of cars around, so we didn't think anything bad could happen.' But when they returned to their car after just half an hour inside, they found it completely smashed up. Every single item inside was stolen - including their passports and Saffron's medication. She said tearfully: 'It's not just the material things. It's everything we needed. We had nothing left, no ID, no medication, nothing.' The incident was made worse by the fact the area was busy and yet no one seemed to intervene. Josh added: 'There were tourists everywhere, and apparently this happens almost every day. It's crazy that there are no warning signs.' Despite their shock and devastation, the couple counted their blessings. Saffron said: 'I'm so grateful to be alive. They have guns in America, and something much worse could have happened. We keep telling ourselves that we should be grateful we're still here.' 5 5
