The 12 days that turned back the clock on Iran's nuclear program
Now that the rhetorical debris has settled from Israel's 12-day war with Iran, there's growing evidence that Iran's nuclear program suffered such severe damage that it will be neutered for at least a year, and probably far longer. 'Iran is no longer a threshold nuclear state,' one well-informed Israeli source told me. He said that Iran would now require at least one to two years to build a deliverable nuclear weapon, assuming it could somehow hide its activities. Tehran could conceivably try to demonstrate a crude nuclear device more quickly. But Israel would probably see the test coming and could mount a disabling attack, the source said.

Two Canadian soldiers stabbed during brawl in Alberta, RCMP investigating
Two Canadian soldiers posted to a base in eastern Alberta are expected to recover after a stabbing. Article content RCMP say officers were called Friday to a disturbance at a home in Wainwright, west of the Alberta-Saskatchewan boundary. Article content Article content They say a 23-year-old man has been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, as well as possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. Article content Article content Armed Forces spokeswoman Lt.-Col. Lena Angell says three junior military members were involved in a brawl. 2 Canadian Armed Forces members in Alberta stabbed during private event
Two Canadian Armed Forces members in Wainwright, Alta., were stabbed during a recent private social event, according to Mounties. The attack on Thursday was part of a 'protracted incident involving … a large group of individuals,' an Alberta RCMP spokesperson told CTV News Edmonton. A disturbance at a home in the eastern Alberta town was reported to police shortly before midnight. By the time officers arrived, the stabbing victims had already been taken to hospital. Both are expected to recover. Neither lived at the address. A 23-year-old man was charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was not previously known to RCMP. Police continue to investigate. Wainwright, which has a population of about 7,000, is located about 200 kilometres southeast of Edmonton. CFB Wainwright is located southwest of the town.

Former Saskatoon Christian school director found guilty of assaulting students
A Saskatoon judge has found John Olubobokun, former director at Christian Centre Academy in Saskatoon, guilty on all nine counts of assault with a weapon. Former students say they were struck with a paddle while attending the school.

Brockville man turns himself in to police after alleged bear mace attack
The Brockville Police Service says a 29-year-old man is facing assault and weapon charges following an incident over the weekend that allegedly involved bear mace. According to police, two people got into an argument at around 1 p.m. Sunday, July 13, that escalated to the point where one man allegedly sprayed bear mace in the other person's face. The victim was treated for minor, non-life-threatening injuries, police said. Three days later, the suspect in the attack turned himself in. The man is now facing charges of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and mischief.
