An investigation for attempted murder has been launched by the French authorities, according to The Mirror. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots and explosions in the Pissevin district - an area in south-west Nimes which is known for drug crime. One woman told French media: 'My sister called me as I was coming home from work. 'She told me not to go home, there were shots right in front of my building.
