Today's Wordle #1499 Hints, Clues And Answer For Sunday, July 27th
How to solve today's Wordle. Looking for Saturday's Wordle hints, clues and answer? You can find them here: How To Solve Today's Wordle It's another lovely, scorching summer Sunday. If you're looking for relief from the heat, check out my review of Marvel's Fantastic Four: First Steps and my weekend streaming guide which should give you some ideas for fun indoors activities — though also consider board games, tabletop RPGs, video games, card games or any other kind of games you can think of. Speaking of which, we have a word puzzle game to solve! Wordle is a daily word puzzle game where your goal is to guess a hidden five-letter word in six tries or fewer. After each guess, the game gives feedback to help you get closer to the answer: Use these clues to narrow down your guesses. Every day brings a new word, and everyone around the world is trying to solve the same puzzle. Some Wordlers also play Competitive Wordle against friends, family, the Wordle Bot or even against me, your humble narrator. See rules for Competitive Wordle toward the end of this post. FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder Today's Wordle Hints And Answer Wordle Bot's Starting Word: SLATE My Starting Word Today: CRIME (176 words remaining) The Hint: Entire, as in the entire food, not just part of it. The Clue: This Wordle begins with two consonants but only one sound. Okay, spoilers below! The answer is coming! . . . Today's Wordle Every day I check Wordle Bot to help analyze my guessing game. You can check your Wordles with Wordle Bot right here. CRIME never pays. At least that's my experience using the word as an opening guess in Wordle. 176 words and just one green box remained when I plugged in SPOUT for guess #2. That only slashed my remaining options down to 15, though I got one more green vowel in the process. I tried all new letters a third time with GLAND and thankfully that left me with just one remaining possible answer: WHOLE for the win! Today's Wordle Bot I get 0 points for guessing in four and -1 for losing to the Bot. The Bot gets 1 point for guessing in three and another for beating me. Our July totals narrow to: Erik: 9 points Wordle Bot: 7 points With just a few days left in July, it's anybody's game! The word "whole" comes from Old English hāl, meaning 'entire, unhurt, healthy.' It is related to Old High German heil and Old Norse heill, both meaning 'healthy' or 'sound.' The root is Proto-Germanic hailaz, from the Proto-Indo-European root kailo- meaning 'whole, uninjured, of good omen.' Today's NYT Strands Hints, Spangram And Answers For Thursday, July 24th
Today's NYT Strands hints and answers Looking for Wednesday's Strands hints, spangram and answers? You can find them here: NYT Strands Tuesday, July 22nd Guide It's Thor's Day, which means I'm almost at the end of this week's Strands guide stretch. I have to admit, just looking at traffic on these posts lately, it seems like either people aren't playing this game as much, or they're just not needing the extra clues. The New York Times really needs to come out with a new game soon. For now, we have words to uncover and a grid to solve. Let's do it! Strands is a daily word puzzle from The New York Times that challenges your vocabulary and pattern-recognition skills. Here's how it works. Find all the hidden theme words in the grid. Every puzzle has a theme, and the words you need to find will relate to it. Some themes are incredibly obvious, while others require more creative thinking. Generally you'll need to find between 5 to 9 words in total and each word must be at least four letters long. One special word—called the spangram—will stretch across two or more sides of the grid and tie directly into the theme. It's key to unlocking the puzzle, tying together all the other words and reinforcing the daily theme. Play today's puzzle right here. FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder Spoilers ahead. Today's Strands Hints Read on for today's theme and some hints to help you uncover today's words. Before I reveal the answers, I'll give you the first two letters of each word to help you get started. Today's Theme: Chips in Hint: Once again, this does not have to do with poker. Clue: Think in terms of snacks. What might you put a chip (or crisp) in before taking a bite? Here are the first two letters of each word: Remember, spoilers ahead! What Are Today's Strands Answers? Today's spangram is: PARTYDIPS Here's the full list of words: Here's the completed Strands grid: Today's Strands I think the 'theme' today was slightly misleading. While I absolutely dip chips in SALSA, QUESO and GUACAMOLE, the other three words rarely go hand-in-hand with chips (or crisps for you UK readers). I might dip a bit of flatbread like a pita or naan into TZATZIKI or HUMMUS, and I imagine little cubes of bread when I think of FONDUE. But not chips. Oh well. How did you do on your Strands today? Let me know on Twitter and Facebook. Today's spangram is: AQUARIUM Here's the full list of words: Here's the completed Strands grid: Today's Strands I started by looking for words related to various pets. LEASH, BOWL, that sort of thing. Turns out, this was all related to one very specific kind of pet: FISH, though an AQUARIUM could be used for lizards or snakes as well. I've never owned any of these types of animals, so actually finding some of these words was a bit tricky, but it was all pretty straightforward in the end. How did you do on your Strands today? Today's NYT Strands Puzzle: Hints, Spangram And Answers For Sunday, July 20th
Today's NYT Strands hints and answers Looking for Saturday's Strands hints, spangram and answers? You can find them here: Lazy Sunday is upon us and I'm sorely in need of rest! Well, I'm sore in any case. I've been hitting the gym hard along with pretty regular hot yoga and my body is feeling the pain. But hey, no pain no gain, right? I find the best way to take care of my mind and spirit is to take care of my physical self, but it gets harder as you get older. Harder and more crucial, I suppose. Of course, solving word puzzles never hurts. Let's solve today's Strands! Strands is the newest game in the New York Times' stable of puzzle games. It's a fun twist on classic word search games. Every day we're given a new theme and then tasked with uncovering all the words on the grid that fit that theme, including a spangram that spans two sides of the board. One of these words is the spangram which crosses from one side of the grid to another and reveals even more about the day's theme. Spoilers ahead. Today's Strands Hints Read on for today's theme and some hints to help you uncover today's words. Instead of giving you the first two letters of each word, today I'm giving out three hints instead of two. Today's Theme: Shore thing! FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder Hint: What would you wear on a visit to the sea? Clue: Not for fishing or anything like that, but for fun in the sun and sand (this ties together nicely with yesterday's Strands). Here are the first two letters of each word: Remember, spoilers ahead! What Are Today's Strands Answers? Today's spangram is: BEACHATTIRE Here's the full list of words: Here's the completed Strands grid: Today's Strands I found BIKINI almost immediately—go figure—and then there was BEACH just beneath it. Of course, that didn't work, so I looked a little further and found BEACHATTIRE, the spangram, next. TRUNKS was obvious at this point, and SARONG and WRAP were close behind. The final two—SANDALS and SWIMSUIT—were a bit trickier, but I found them all and didn't even need a single hint. I didn't even get a single word wrong today. Lucky me. How did you do on your Strands today? Let me know on Twitter and Facebook.
