Weekend rush: 980 special buses to be run in Tamil Nadu
CHENNAI: The state transport department will run 980 special buses in
Tamil Nadu
from Friday to Sunday to clear the extra rush of passengers.
This includes 650 special buses to be operated from Kalaignar Centenary Bus Terminus (KCBT) in Kilambakkam in Chennai to Madurai, Trichy, Coimbatore, Salem and Tirunelveli on Friday and Saturday.
Additionally, another 110 buses would depart from Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus (CMBT) in Koyambedu on these two days to Tiruvannamalai, Nagapattinam, Velankanni, Hosur and Bengaluru, said an official release.

While another 20 buses will depart from Madhavaram terminus, nearly 200 buses will be operated in other districts.
With more crowds expected to leave on Saturday, managers have been deployed at the new bus terminus to control the crowd and avoid chaos.
Around 14,900 passengers have already reserved bus tickets online, the release said, adding that others can book online on or TNSTC mobile app.
