ADJD enhances vocational empowerment opportunities for inmates in partnership with Strata
The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Strata Manufacturing to implement specialized vocational training programs for inmates in correctional and rehabilitation centers. The initiative aims to equip inmates with industrial and technical skills that will support their reintegration into the labor market upon completing their sentences. Under the MoU, Strata will establish technical workshops within the correctional centers, providing inmates with hands-on industrial experience and advanced technical training under the supervision of qualified trainers, the programs will be delivered within a structured framework that aligns with rehabilitation goals, offering a comprehensive educational experience that boosts inmates' readiness for professional integration. His Excellency Counselor Yousef Saeed Al Abri, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, emphasized that the initiative aligns with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of ADJD, to strengthen vocational empowerment for inmates through strategic partnerships with national institutions that contribute to human development and community security. He highlighted the partnership with Strata as a practical model of institutional cooperation within the UAE, supporting rehabilitation and reintegration pathways. This collaboration offers inmates the opportunity to build a better future post-release through a correctional environment that addresses various aspects of life and fosters a positive transformation. It also contributes to reducing recidivism and achieving long-term social impact. Al Abri added that the initiative reflects ADJD's vision of transforming correctional facilities into productive rehabilitation platforms, by partnering with leading institutions like Strata, the department ensures that inmates receive certified training opportunities that pave the way for effective entry into the labor market after serving their sentences, granting them a fresh start based on productivity and responsibility. The Strata delegation at the MoU signing ceremony was headed by Ismail Ali Abdulla, Executive Director of the Strategic Complexes Unit in the Investment Sector at Strata. ADJD adopts updated guide for rehabilitation centers under Zero Bureaucracy Program
The Correctional and Rehabilitation Policies Committee at the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) approved updated guide for correctional and rehabilitation centers, including new organizational structure and development and integration of 18 operational processes, aligning with the Department's initiative to eliminate bureaucracy, streamline procedures, and enhance institutional performance—aiming to establish a pioneering and advanced judicial and correctional system. The announcement came during a committee meeting chaired by H.E. Counselor Yousef Saeed Al Abri, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, during which the detailed provisions of the updated guide and its implementation mechanisms were reviewed. The guide is based on international best practices to ensure a qualitative shift in the operations of correctional centers, transforming them into platforms that foster positive change and self-development with the goal of rehabilitating inmates and enabling their successful reintegration into society. Counselor Al Abri emphasized that updating the guide aligns with the Department's strategy to build an integrated and continuously evolving correctional system driven by innovation, this contributes to improving the quality of services offered within correctional facilities and achieving tangible outcomes in the rehabilitation and reintegration of inmates. He noted that the restructuring of operations and the new organizational framework reflect the Department's commitment to sustainable institutional transformation, fostering a correctional ecosystem rooted in innovation, this approach supports Abu Dhabi's vision of excellence and leadership in the justice sector, ensuring a balance between maintaining public safety and providing genuine opportunities for inmates to begin new lives founded on responsibility and productivity. Counselor Yousef Al Abri emphasized that the visit reflects the commitment to supporting integration between local and federal judicial institutions in the UAE and developing institutional capabilities to implement best practices in the judicial field, this is in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, to strengthen cooperation with various judicial institutions to maximize benefits and consolidate the country's competitive position globally. During a tour of the department's main building in Abu Dhabi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice learned about best practices related to improving and developing institutional performance, strategic planning, and the mechanism for monitoring monthly performance indicators, he listened to a detailed explanation of the management of the judicial system, and the ease of completing transactions. He also attended a civil marriage session at the Civil Family Court and reviewed the digital systems used for civil marriage applications. He was briefed on the features of the department's 2024-2026 strategic plan, the qualitative objectives it seeks to achieve, and the projects and initiatives that employ the best modern technologies and artificial intelligence to enhance the quality and efficiency of services and support its role as a fundamental pillar of justice.

ADJD approves new batch of technical experts and dispute resolution mediators
The Committee on the Affairs of Experts, Conciliators, and Mediators at the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) has approved a new batch of technical experts and dispute resolution mediators. This comes as part of ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency and quality of specialized expert services and to support mediation processes as effective alternatives for dispute resolution—aligned with Abu Dhabi's vision for judicial excellence. During its regular meeting, chaired by His Excellency Counselor Yousef Saeed Al Abri, Undersecretary of the Judicial Department, the committee approved the registration and re-registration of several experts in the official registry of practitioners after fulfilling the established requirements. This aims to support judicial entities with specialized expertise that contributes to the quality of judgments and the precision of rulings in cases requiring technical opinion. The committee also approved proceeding with the registration for 21 mediators, following a review of their applications, conditional on completing the necessary requirements—most notably, passing the accredited training program at the Abu Dhabi Judicial Academy. This ensures that mediators are fully prepared to perform their duties efficiently and impartially in resolving civil and commercial disputes through dialogue and negotiation, reaching amicable settlements outside of court. In the same context, the committee reviewed 13 applications submitted by authorized entities seeking inclusion in the mediators' registry and approved proceeding with registration in accordance with the set regulations. On the matter of professional oversight, the committee reviewed one complaint concerning an expert and took appropriate action in line with applicable regulatory frameworks, reaffirming its commitment to accountability and the highest standards of professional performance.

This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen family ties and instill positive values, reflecting a reform-oriented approach that focuses on rehabilitation and preparing inmates for reintegration into initiative is part of a series of programmes carried out by the Judicial Department within its strategic vision aimed at developing the correction and rehabilitation system and empowering families to play a key role in supporting inmates.
