Google Pixel 10 could offer even better macro photos — here's how

We've heard a bunch of different rumors about what the Google Pixel 10 might offer, especially in the camera department, but it turns out Google may have another surprise up its sleeve. Previous leaks claimed that Google might include a telephoto lens on the Pixel 10, rather than making it a Pro-exclusive, but it's now been tipped that the new lens could help boost macro photography performance too. Having telephoto-powered macro photography is nothing new, but Android Headlines claims that the new feature won't replace macro on the ultrawide camera. In fact, the two lenses are reportedly working together to improve the final photo. The main benefit is that you should be able to take macro photos from a closer distance. As the report points out, telephoto lenses tend to have a much longer focusing distance than ultrawide ones. This means that the Pixel 10 could dynamically change which lens takes the photo depending on how close you are. Likewise, having a telephoto macro feature means you won't need to be as close to the subject. This can be beneficial for lighting, or if you're trying to take a photo of something that may run away if you get too close, like a bug. It's unclear which Pixel 10 models will get this feature, but at the very least I'd expect ot to come to the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL. However, if the Pixel 10 is set to come with a telephoto lens, as rumored, then there's no point depriving users of this feature other than to encourage users to spend more to go Pro. While dual-macro capabilities may not be a major selling point for the majority of people, there's no reason why Google should deprive them of something genuinely useful. We won't know for sure about this feature and which phones have it until later this year, when the Pixel 10 should be unveiled by Google. Android Headlines claims that this will be on August 28, which means we don't have too long to wait. Plus, in typical Pixel style, we'll likely hear most of what we need to know about the phone before then via rumors or teasers from Google itself. Leaked renders of the official Galaxy Z Flip 7 cases give us an early look at Samsung's accessories

A leaked render of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 . | Image by AndroidHeadlines This year's summer Galaxy Unpacked is coming July 9, and Samsung is expected to officially announce the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. We've already seen multiple leaks of the phones themselves, but a new leak has revealed all the accessories Samsung might offer for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 . If the leak is accurate, Samsung's flip foldable will launch with four cases and an anti-reflective screen protector. The cases are a Kindsuit case, a Silicon Ring case, and two types of Clear case. All of them look the same as the ones Samsung offered last year with the Galaxy Z Flip 6, except the new clear magnet case. The clear case doesn't defy any expectations, and it has two simple parts that cover the upper and lower parts of the device. One of the versions features a ring-shaped grip on the lower half and resembles last year's silicone case. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 | Images credit—Android Headlines Samsung's clear case also has a version that replaces the grip with a ring of magnets. Their goal is to provide Qi2 support, and the renders might as well confirm that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 won't have built-in MagSafe. Although there's no information about the pricing, this version will likely be more expensive than the base clear case. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 | Image credit—Android Headlines Like its name suggests, the Silicon Ring case has a ring grip on the back. It looks more or less identical to the non-magnet clear case, and last year's version was $39.99. Samsung may offer the Silicon Ring case in mint, coral, blue, and black colors, which match the rumored colors of the Flip 7 . Samsung's faux leather offering is the Kindsuit case, which may return for the Galaxy Flip 7 . That one will be offered in three colors – camel, taupe, and black. Last year, this was the most expensive case, retailing at $99. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 | Images credit—Android Headlines Lastly, Samsung could also provide an option for better protection of the bigger outer screen. The anti-reflective screen protector for the Flip 7 cover screen has a pill-shaped cutout for the camera and will ship with extra accessories for easier and better application. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 | Images credit—Android Headlines I think the accessories for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 look great. However, it strikes me as odd to get Qi2 support only with a clear case. I'd expect Samsung to equip the priciest cases with every available feature, but the leak doesn't mention anything about magnets on the Kindsuit cases. Otherwise, the accessories won't surprise anyone, but that's not the idea. The idea is to protect our phones and make them look more personalized. Secure your connection now at a bargain price! Leaked renders offer an early look at Samsung's official Galaxy Z Flip 7 cases

Evan Blass TL;DR Samsung may offer four official cases and a screen protector for the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7. The clamshell foldable could get a basic clear case with a grip, a clear magnet case, a silicone case in four colorways, and a Kindsuit case in three finishes. Unlike the Galaxy Z Fold 7, the cheaper foldable may not get an official carbon fiber case. Hot on the heels of a leak revealing Samsung's official Galaxy Z Fold 7 cases, a new report has unveiled the full lineup of accessories expected for the Galaxy Z Flip 7. If accurate, the compact foldable could launch with four case options and an anti-reflective screen protector. Android Headlines has managed to dig up official renders of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 accessories, which give us an early look at the device's clear case, clear magnet case, silicone case, Kindsuit case, and anti-reflective film. The clear magnet case appears to be the only new addition, while the remaining options look the same as the ones Samsung offered with last year's Galaxy Z Flip 6. The clear case is a minimal two-piece case that protects both halves of the device and features a ring-shaped grip on the bottom half. The clear magnet case replaces this grip with a ring of magnets that will make the Flip 7 compatible with Qi2 chargers and accessories. Both cases feature a raised lip at the top to protect the cameras from scratches. Except for its material, the silicone case looks nearly identical to the regular clear case. Samsung may offer it in black, blue, coral red, and mint color options that match the rumored Flip 7 colorways. While Samsung appears to have swapped the Kindsuit case with a new Carbon Shield case in its Fold 7 accessory lineup, its cheaper foldable doesn't seem to be getting a similar upgrade. The company will still offer a Kindsuit case for the device in black, taupe, and camel colorways. Lastly, Samsung will release an anti-reflective screen protector for the Flip 7's larger cover screen, featuring a pill-shaped camera cutout. It will ship with an alignment tool for easy application, a squeegee, a microfiber cloth, and dust removal stickers. Although Samsung hasn't made major changes to the case lineup for its clamshell foldable, that might not be a bad thing, since last year's designs offer solid, all-around protection. The same can't be said for Samsung's official Galaxy Z Fold 7 cases, which may only protect the device's back panel. Reserve the next Galaxy for $50 Samsung Credit and a chance to win $5,000! Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 live images leak, reveal new colour and slimmer design

Late last month, we got a good look at the upcoming Samsung foldables in a series of leaked renders. One of the standout colours was a deep, rich blue — which looks to be the hero colour this year. And now, in a new leak, that same blue shade seems to be confirmed, as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 has appeared in live images online. These photos, shared by tipster @Jukanlosreve and reported by Android Headlines, give us a proper glimpse of the actual hardware — not just renders — and there's quite a bit to take in. Credit: @Jukanlosreve advertisementThe first thing that stands out is the colour. The blue variant, likely to be officially called Blue Shadow, looks every bit as striking in real-life photos as it did in the earlier renders. It's subtle but classy, and similar to the blue shade Samsung used for its Galaxy S24 series in 2024. The second major takeaway from the leak is the design. The Galaxy Fold 7 is clearly slimmer and sleeker than before. While we don't have precise measurements from the live images, earlier reports have pegged the phone's thickness at just 3.9mm to 4.5mm when unfolded — easily making it Samsung's thinnest foldable yet. Credit: @Jukanlosreve Another interesting detail from the leaked photos is the rear camera layout. There are three cameras stacked vertically, placed on a noticeable island at the top-left corner. This layout isn't dramatically different from last year's Fold 6, but what is different is the removal of the under-display camera. According to the report, Samsung may be going back to regular hole-punch selfie cameras on both the inner and outer displays — a move that might improve image quality, even if it slightly affects aesthetics. The upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 is also expected to be lighter. Reports suggest the phone could weigh around 215 grams — that's 24 grams lighter than the Galaxy Z Fold 6, and even lighter than the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Sounds quite from the design changes, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to come with a 6.5-inch cover screen and a larger 8.2-inch inner display. Under the hood, Samsung is likely to use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chip paired with up to 12GB RAM and at least 256GB of internal storage. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is also reported to feature an upgraded 200-megapixel primary rear camera, quite possibly the same as the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S25 Edge. The other two cameras are expected to be a do-over from the Galaxy Z Fold Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, along with the Galaxy Z Flip 7, is expected to make its debut at the company's Galaxy Unpacked event, rumoured to take place on July 9 in New York. Other announcements could include the Galaxy Watch 8 series and Samsung's first Fan Edition foldable — the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE — though nothing has been confirmed officially yet.- Ends

What to expect at Samsung Galaxy Unpacked next week

Samsung has announced that its next Galaxy Unpacked event will be taking place on July 9 at 10AM ET. This is the third major Unpacked event of the year, following launches of the Galaxy S25 series in January and, more recently, a virtual unveiling of the Galaxy S25 Edge. This time, if previous years are any indication, the company should be showing off new foldables and wearables. A lot of it may be business as usual, but the company has hinted that some possibly exciting new additions are in the works. Engadget will be liveblogging the event that day, so make sure to come back here for our coverage. We'll also continue to update this roundup of what we expect to see next week with the latest reports and rumors. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 (Sam Rutherford for Engadget) Based on the usual annual cadence, this summer Unpacked 2025 will most likely introduce the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. One recent leak claimed that Gemini Live will be a core part of the foldables' presentation, and considering AI is the buzzword for every tech presentation these days, it would be strange if Unpacked didn't follow suit. AI features got a positive reception from both our Fold 6 and Flip 6 reviewers, although they fell more under the umbrella of parlor tricks than valuable assets. Android Headlines is back with renders of what it claims show the design of the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The foldable sports a slimmer profile than the prior model and the navy blue chassis is certainly pretty. It also indicates that both the cover display and inner display are reportedly bigger in this design, up to 6.5 inches and 8.2 inches, respectively. The publication also showed purported images of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 that also pointed to increased screen real estate. There may be a third player in the foldables lineup for this Unpacked. A teaser from Samsung last month pointed toward a Galaxy Z Fold Ultra that will come with Galaxy AI. There are no specs in the blog post, but the company insists that this will have "industry-leading hardware, cutting-edge performance and seamless AI integration optimized for the foldable format." This doesn't appear to be the tri-fold design we've heard rumblings about, but that would be a fun reveal if Samsung does pull that off as a surprise announcement. Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 (Amy Skorheim for Engadget) On the wearables front, the only thing we're really anticipating is news about the Galaxy Watch 8. But the anticipation is pretty mild. This smartwatch collection from Samsung hasn't really pushed the envelope for several years; the Galaxy Watch 7 was the third iteration where our reviewers felt the new model offered only incremental improvements over the previous generation. So either this Unpacked will be yet another round of small gains on the specs or Samsung will surprise us with some substantial upgrades. Improved battery life would be a big plus. For the past few weeks, Samsung fans have been speculating that a new smartphone announcement could be on the way soon. Although the company's standard mobile hardware is usually unveiled at the start of the year, we've seen some credible rumors that a new Galaxy S25 FE is in the works. If Samsung is looking to release a new version to that line in the fall, it would make sense to announce and open pre-orders at the summer Unpacked. The Galaxy S24 FE had some solid specs but was a little pricey to be a true budget model, especially with an underwhelming set of AI features. So far, the leaks about the S25 FE also point toward continued underwhelm, with claims that its cameras won't be seeing much in the way of upgrades, although it may be getting a boost to performance and battery if rumors that it will use the Exynos 2400 processor turn out to be true. Update, July 3 2025, 8:00AM ET: This story has been updated to include confirmed dates for the Unpacked event.
