The Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt ‘Interview With the Vampire' feud rumors, explained
The second Tom Cruise stepped out on the red carpet at the European premiere of F1: The Movie to greet the film's star, Brad Pitt, the world of celebrity gossip revved its engine and then collectively lost its mind. The myriad body language experts of X fired off their instant analyses of the interaction. It was awkward! Look at the handshake! These men clearly hate each other! Gossip sites, like Closer, passed along the accounts of anonymous insiders, who bandied about theories like Cruise being "very territorial about the U.K." OK, but then who gets Topeka? More from GoldDerby Mel Brooks loves 'Hidden Figures'?! Julianne Moore's a 'Superbad' fan?! Stars reveal their most surprising NYT movie picks Billy Joel doc 'And So It Goes' sets HBO premiere date, 'The Strangers 2' trailer drops, and more of today's top stories 'American Idol' winner Jamal Roberts to join Brandy and Monica on 'The Boy Is Mine' tour All of that aside, there is actual reporting(!) with sourced quotes(!!) from the people involved(!!!) at the base of this feud conversation. The original source of the bad blood dates back — appropriately — to the one time that Pitt and Cruise actually shared the screen, the 1994 adaptation of Anne Rice's Interview With the Vampire directed by Neil Jordan. In an interview with Premiere (which tragically doesn't have a proper online archive), Pitt told the magazine that he and Cruise were very different people, in a way that eventually began to "bug" him. "You gotta understand, Tom and I are… we walk in different directions,' Pitt told Premiere. "He's North Pole. I'm South. He's coming at you with a handshake, where I may bump into you, I may not, you know? ... I always thought there was this underlying competition that got in the way of any real conversation. It wasn't nasty by any means, not at all. But it was just there and it bugged me a bit." Fighting words! But wait until you get a load of what Pitt says in the very next sentence, the one most gossip publications don't publish alongside the previous. "But I'll tell you, he catches a lot of sh-t because he's on top, but he's a good actor and he advances in the film," Pitt said. "He did it. I mean, you have to respect that." Warner Bros. Huh! Less scintillating! To be fair, Pitt cops to having a bad time making Interview With the Vampire elsewhere, some of it connected to his position in the movie relative to Cruise's. He described the shoot as "miserable" to Entertainment Weekly in 2011, saying it was "six months in the f--king dark," "playing the bitch role," which had caught him by surprise because he wasn't able to read the script until two weeks before filming started. "No discredit to Tom, man," Pitt said. "He had pressure on him. There were all the fanboys of the book. He had all this pressure to make it work, and he made it work — and good on him." Speaking to Gold Derby recently, Interview costar Christian Slater said that he sympathized with Pitt on the grueling shoot. "The majority of my work was with Brad. And I think I was catching him at the end of a long shoot [laughs]. It was a good, long six-month shoot. And I feel like he was at the end of his rope at that point. I think he was sick and tired of getting his face painted with those little veins and wearing fangs. But you know what? He was a professional. He was great. Certainly in the role. He did it. … He still showed up, 100 percent. But I just thought it was funny that he was so sick of it by that point. He was just over it." Years later, Cruise and Pitt found themselves orbiting the same project — but not to star together. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cruise was considered for the role of Cliff Booth in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, a role that went to Pitt and earned him his Oscar. Rumors then swirled that Cruise could join Tarantino's since-aborted The Movie Critic with Pitt, but that talk was apparently unfounded. So what's really going on? Cruise's presence at the premiere makes complete sense due to his past work with F1's director Joseph Kosinski and producer Jerry Bruckheimer and Cruise's apparent blood oath to do everything he can to single-handedly save the theatrical experience. Did that mission simply bring him into the orbit of a former coworker with whom he didn't gel terribly well for a photo op? Maybe! But where's the fun in that?for Warner Bros. Katie Price 'happier being single' as future with boyfriend JJ Slater in doubt
Katie Price reportedly realised she's 'happier being single' after enjoying a sunny break in Ibiza. The former glamour model is currently dating Married At First Sight UK star JJ Slater but was living "her best life" on her recent holiday made her realise it's "how she wants to feel all the time". She was snapped cosying up to a number of shirtless men, including some very famous faces, but her behaviour reportedly didn't go down well back home, with Katie accused of being 'disrespectful' towards MAFS hunk JJ, 32, whom she started dating early last year. However, despite the flood of negative comments, a source recently told OK! the warnings will fall on deaf ears and that 'Katie is just being Katie'. Despite the warnings, it has been said Katie wants to be "free to be who she is". The insider told Closer: "She was living it up and loved being able to walk about virtually naked. "Katie has admitted she's happier being single and that men always hold her back. She made sure every eye was on her, telling everyone that Jordan is back." According to the source, Katie said she 'doesn't know what the future holds for her' but added being 'Jordan again makes her happy'. The Mirror has reached out to Katie's reps for comment. The former glamour model's recent holiday is said to have made JJ feel insecure. 'She can't help but flirt and cosy up to people – it's the life she's always led,' a source told OK! 'She thinks it's all just a bit of innocent flirting because she's a very loud and larger than life character, but for her boyfriends it's another thing. 'Seeing your girlfriend in a tiny bikini surrounded by a load of topless men is bound to make anyone feel a bit insecure, and JJ is no exception. He's put up with a lot and it's not easy dating someone as famous as Katie. It's not nice for him to see the photos. 'He's aware of what people are saying and he tries to ignore the comments, but it's not easy.' The former glamour model, who was joined for part of the trip by her son Junior Andre, 20, was snapped partying with former UFC champion Conor McGregor, EastEnders star Dean Gaffney and nightclub boss Wayne Lineker, owner of the island's famous O Beach club. Katie shared a slew of social media posts from Ibiza but a lot of fas took to the comment section to share their concerns as some called on JJ - who previously dated MAFS co-star Ella Morgan - to "dump her" over her disrespectful behaviour.

Loose Women panic as panellists fear axe as younger co-star to 'take over'
The Loose Women panellists are said to be worried that, as part of the upcoming shake-up at ITV, they are going to be axed from their jobs to make way for younger stars Loose Women's panellists are said to be worrying about their future as younger stars "take over." It's no secret that there has been panic backstage behind ITV's midday show, with several of its leading ladies being vocal about the major changes which will come into play next year. Last month, ITV announced a major overhaul of their daytime schedules, which affects both Loose and Lorraine Kelly's self-titled morning programme. However, despite being hit with a mass loss of viewers, the magazine show This Morning remains unaffected. While both Lorraine and Loose air throughout the year, they will be axed to just 30 weeks of airtime. Now, sources have said that older members of the panel, including Coleen Nolan, Kaye Adams, Nadia Sawalha, Denise Welch, Ruth Langsford and Linda Robson, no longer feel safe in their jobs. Kaye and Nadia are two of the original serving panellists from the show's launch in 1999. Reports claim that some of the older panellists fear they'll be axed in favour of younger members of the panel, including GK Barry, Olivia Attwood, former singer Frankie Bridge and Stacey Solomon, who hasn't been on the show since 2023. The younger panellists have millions of online followers and use social media platforms such as TikTok to their advantage. Former singer Stacey has a staggering six million followers on her Instagram page alone. "The other girls feel like they can't compete with Stacey's stats," a source told Closer magazine. The outlet goes on to claim that other members of the panel are being encouraged to build their online following on platforms such as TikTok, but this has been branded a "full-time job in itself." Bosses on the programme are reportedly telling panellists that any change is not a personal move, but that hasn't gone down too well. "Nadia has been warning her co-stars it's not about who you are anymore, but how many followers you have," the insider added. While final decisions are yet to be made, the source went on to comment: "In the long term, it could mean a farewell to the golden oldies. Coleen has been on the show, on and off, since 2000, a quarter of a century. Viewing numbers are down, and financial cuts have been made to save the ship and there's a few that are expected to walk the plank." Nadia, however, has spoken publicly about the cuts. Speaking on her YouTube page, the actress and broadcaster said: "Do you know what, at the moment, all of us on screen are in work and are proud of what we do. But behind the scenes there are people that are really suffering, and what you don't realise is when you attack the show you attack them, because you never see all the army of people behind the scenes and how hard they work. "So to all my friends and colleagues behind the scenes who have just got a huge shock out of the blue, I'm so sorry. Mark knows how upset I've been at home about it. I just can't bear it. So just be f*****g kind to people." She then added: "What people don't realise at Loose Women is that we're self-employed, I am self-employed. Every contract is a new contract. I could be let go tomorrow, in five years, you don't know because we're not employees. "So I can't tell you anything except I am on for my next contract. What has been brutal over the past week, and I am getting tearful about it, is that hundreds of people are going to be made redundant out of the blue. A lot of my friends and colleagues have been there for decades and I cannot tell you how upsetting it was to see people walking around numb with shock and fear about what they are going to do. That has been so awful. It has been worse than whatever trolls have been saying about our show that we feel really protective of." Speaking previously of the fears the panellists are having, a Loose source told the Mirror: "We are not planning any radical changes to the panel. All of our Loose Women are hugely valued and we celebrate each and every one and the experience and opinions they bring to the show every day. "Many of our long standing panellists have appeared on the show for the majority of its 25 year run on screens and those stalwart, Loose legends are at the core of the show's success and hugely popular with the audience. The show remains a big priority within our daytime slate, having secured a BAFTA nomination, launched a podcast and celebrated a milestone anniversary in the last year alone." The Mirror has approached Loose Women, Nadia and Stacey's spokespeople for comment.

I want to reverse it all and go back to natural." Speaking to OK! magazine, the Celebrity Big Brother and Dancing on Ice star revealed that she hasn't had fillers for more than two years, although she opts for Botox thrice annually. Lauren also explained how she abstains from alcohol, cigarettes, vaping, and caffeine, aiming to lead a 'healthier and happier' lifestyle.

Victoria Beckham's agony over 'tell-all' woman as Kim Turnbull breaks silence
Romeo Beckham's ex, Kim Turnbull, set the record straight on her relationship with Brooklyn Beckham yesterday after finding herself at the centre of the family's feud Victoria Beckham is "petrified" her son's ex, Kim Turnbull, is going to lift the lid on the famous family's "secrets", according to reports. Kim, who split up with model, Romeo, recently, broke her silence yesterday after finding herself at the centre of the family's feud. Taking to Instagram with a defiant statement, Kim insisted she had never dated Brooklyn after it was reported that the hot sauce enthusiast was 'concerned' about the DJ's motive for dating his younger brother amid whispers Brooklyn and Kim had dated when they were younger. However, Kim fired back, saying she was 'embarrassed by the lies' and 'can't stay quiet any longer', insisting: "I have never been romantically involved in ANY capacity with the person in question." Romeo's mum, Victoria, is now said to be concerned that Kim might share private details about her time with the Beckham family, having been a big part of their inner circle - attending numerous family gatherings, and even David's 50th birthday celebrations that Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola snubbed. Speaking to Closer, a source said: "Just when Vic though the family drama couldn't get any worse, Romeo's split from Kim has poured more fuel on the fire. Not only was Romeo upset about the break-up, but they've heard whispers that Kim is hell bent on the world knowing the truth, given the allegations that she's the reason the feud erupted in the first place." They continued: "Kim was privy to a lot of to a lot of personal details during her time with Romeo, including family secrets that Vic is now petrified she's going to spill - not only to clear her name, but to boost her profile now she's no longer tied to the Beckhams." On Monday, Kim spoke about the drama for the first time that has engulfed the Beckhams and cast a shadow over David's knighthood announcement this weekend as his eldest son, Brooklyn, continues to ignore his achievement. Taking to Instagram, newly-single Kim fired: "I've avoided speaking on this topic to prevent adding fuel to the fire, however it's come to a point where I feel the need to address it so I can move on." She continued: "I will not continue to receive harassment or be embarrassed on the basis of lies, to fit a certain narrative." Seemingly addressing the Brooklyn rumours, Kim then clarified: "I have never been romantically involved in ANY capacity at ANY point with the person in question. Nothing between us has occurred further than a school friendship at age 16. "I would like to remove myself from the ongoing conversation and set the record straight for the sake of everyone involved." Following the strongly-worded statement, Victoria is said to be feeling very "anxious" that Kim is going to set the record straight on the feud, which has been plaguing the Beckhams for month. Claiming the artist formerly known as Posh Spice wanted to have NDAs (non disclosure agreement) "put in place" for her sons' partners, the source said: "Vic's feeling very anxious about it. It's her worst fears imagined and the exact reason why she tried so hard to have NDAs put in place for her her sons' significant others - which they all fought her so hard and refused to have them do. "Now she's petrified they're going to pay the price and that Kim won't hold back in setting the record straight, which she [Victoria] fears will only make the feud worse." The Mirror has contacted reps for Victoria and Kim on this story.
