Marvel Exec Reportedly Blames Disney For MCU Struggles
The Marvel Cinematic Universe's fandom has become divided over the studio's output in recent years. While there are some universally acclaimed projects that have been released since Avengers: Endgame , a majority of titles have faced backlash over a lack of quality, rushed production schedule, and complaints that there's just too much content to keep up with. Now it looks like some Marvel executives agree – including one exec that blames Disney specifically for the current problems the MCU has been facing. Many of these issues came to light after Marvel Studios began producing content for Disney Plus. Disney's streaming service was quickly attempting to compete with major platforms like Netflix and at a time when it looked like streaming would potentially replace theaters and other traditional moviegoing experiences. As such, many Marvel shows and specials were greenlit for the platform, something that former MCU director James Gunn has commented on recently. After participating in an interview with Rolling Stone, where Gunn shared that Marvel executive producer Louis D'Esposito told him about Marvel being pushed to its limits during this time, Gunn further clarified his intentions to do the opposite with the DC Universe. He took to Threads and explained that streaming in general caused a lot of issues within the industry: 'The sacrifice-everything-for-streaming craze killed many good things by forcing a demand for 'content' that couldn't possibly be met.' It seems this sparked quite a few conversations on the matter. CosmicBook went a step further to share that they 'overheard a heated discussion between a former Marvel executive and a prominent Hollywood VFX artist.' In addition to the aforementioned executives, it's worth noting that VFX artists have also been a topic regarding Marvel, with the rushed production schedules said to be overwhelming for VFX artists. As such, it stands to reason that they also wouldn't be happy with the recent mandates followed by Marvel Studios, and that does seem to be the case. 'The two were in full agreement,' CosmicBook continues, 'the blame for the MCU's current problems lies squarely with Disney—not the creatives or execs that were already at Marvel.' Interestingly, while there weren't many specific details revealed from their conversation, they're both said to have been 'pretty livid about Disney ruining the MCU, and the takeaway was clear: that they backed James Gunn's recent comments that Disney corporate is to blame for the issues with the MCU.' We already know Disney has been restructuring their plans for Marvel content on platforms like Disney Plus, with shows like Daredevil: Born Again being ran more like a traditional television show than other MCU projects like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier . We can only hope that more changes are made to keep the MCU on track, especially with major projects like Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars on the way. In the meantime, James Gunn seems to already have learned his lesson from their mistakes, with the DC Universe being operated in a much different way. Whether or not that plan ultimately succeeds remains to be seen, but things seem off to a good start with Superman . Hopefully Disney will likewise learn a thing or two from the DCU's model as well.

Danny Dyer DOUBLES his millions in just three years after being left ‘skint' before career u-turn
DANNY Dyer has had a lot to be celebrating over 2025, with his business doubling in value within the space of a year. The TV favourite has amassed a £1.4million fortune at his private firm, Arty Bucco, across the last financial year – the most lucrative earnings of his career. 7 7 7 New accounts filed at Companies House reveal the star was sitting on over £1.5million in assets before bills, holding £896,857 in ready cash, £153,000 in investments and £483,182 worth of monies due in. Dyer's cash mountain is a staggering £712,221 up on the year before. It tops off an incredible year for the star, who took home his first ever Bafta for Sky comedy Mr Bigstuff, as well as seeing massive success with Disney+ series, Rivals. And it looks like it's only set to continue, with a new documentary series seeing him invest in a caravan park with daughter Dani for a new documentary series set to rival Clarkson's Farm. A second season of Rivals – a 'bonkbuster' based on the novels of Jilly Cooper – is currently being filmed in Bristol, and the second season of Mr Bigstuff was released last week. His success comes after he's made conscious moves to ditch his East End hard nut persona to show fans his softer side, causing a career u-turn, which has helped boost his bank balance. He also has a podcast, Live and Let Dyer, with Dani and wife Jo, and a new entertainment series with Rivals co-star Emily Atack was confirmed two days ago. Danny's riches include a £161,410 profit for 2025 - which works out at £3,104 per week, while his bills – reported at £155,804 – include £149,404 in taxation and social security. The figures were signed off by the former EastEnders star yesterday and span the year ended 31 January 2025, with the firm only employing two members of staff – thought to be Danny and his wife, Joanne Mas. Though their pay is not reported, the small print reveals that between them they owed the business £110,949 - £400,000 less than they did in 2024. Danny Dyer reveals he was 'off his nut' on drugs during 'f***ing dark' EastEnders filming and slams 's**t' soap scripts Dyer set up the business – whose activities are listed as 'motion picture, video and television production' back in 2015 alongside Joanne. Since then it has seen a strong and steady increase, earning his first £500,000 in 2020 before passing the £1million mark three years later. It's a major improvement on his former company Old Mother Media, which was set up in 2010 and went bust just three years later. At the time, a statement of affairs signed off by Dyer reported £29,170 worth of debt – including £24,827 owned to HM Revenue and Customs. 7 7 7 7

'Eyes of Wakanda' Trailer Reveals More Of The Hidden Nation's Elite Espionage Team
Fans of the Black Panther should get ready to pounce because the debut trailer for Eyes of Wakanda , the four-episode Disney+ animation series produced by Black Panther director Ryan Coogler, has just dropped. The Black Panther and his home nation of Wakanda have already been extensively explored in Black Panther (2018) and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022), both directed and co-written by Coogler. This time, however, the animated show will pivot focus towards Wakanda specifically, exploring brave Wakandan warriors throughout history, as they engage in dangerous espionage missions to safeguard their nation's interests. The show will see our heroes, the Hatut Zeraze, travelling the world and liberating Vibranium artefacts from the wrong hands. Though the trailer does not reveal any new plot details compared to the teaser, new dialogue reveals that Wakanda has been sending out spies across the world to safeguard the secrets of Wakanda. Secrets that are, as put by a female Wakandan elder, 'essential to Wakanda's security'. Though the series looks to be introducing new elements in an otherwise standalone show that will suit casual viewers, long-term Marvel fans may also be excited to recognise aspects from the previous Black Panther films and other Marvel properties showcased in the trailer. From the energy-displacing Vibranium-powered technology that is used by various warriors in the trailer, to the appearance of the Dora Milaje, to even the exciting reveal of the new female Iron Fist voiced by Jona Xiao ( Raya and the Last Dragon ), the trailer is chock-full of interesting details for eagle-eyed fans. It has been a long time since fans last saw Wakanda, with its last appearance being 2022's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever . Wakandans have since popped up in other entries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), with a notable appearance by Ayo (Florence Kasumba, Criminal: Germany ), the second-in-command of the Dora Milaje, in the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier , but none quite as exciting as the upcoming series. With a talented cast comprising Cress Williams ( Black Lightning ), Winnie Harlow ( America's Next Top Model ), Gary Anthony Williams ( The Boondocks ), Anika Noni Rose ( Princess and the Frog ), Lynn Whitfield ( Greenleaf ), Steve Toussaint ( House of the Dragon ), Zeke Alton ( The Callisto Protocol ), Walles Hamonde ( Beetlejuice Beetlejuice ), Aidan Bristow ( American Horror Story ), Gabriel Burrafato ( The Lincoln Lawyer ), Patricia Belcher ( Good Luck Charlie ), Larry Herron ( NCIS ), Adam Gold ( Game of Thrones: Kingsroad ), Jacques Colimon ( The Society ), and Isaac Robinson-Smith ( X-Men '97 ), the upcoming series looks to be engaging and promising new entry in the MCU. Eyes of Wakanda will drop on Disney+ on 1 August 2025. When he's not sleeping, he's highly likely reading manga. In fact, the only thing he reads more than manga is the Bible, and it's honestly pretty close. Hawkeye Season 2: Jeremy Renner on Show's Future, More MCU Projects
Jeremy Renner is 'sure' that Season 2 will happen. Renner has played Clint Barton/Hawkeye in the MCU since 2011's Thor. In 2021, the character got his own Disney+ show that sees Renner reprise his role alongside Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop, Tony Dalton's Jack Duquesne, Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova, and Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk/Kingpin. What did Jeremy Renner say about Hawkeye Season 2? While there was some doubt that Hawkeye Season 2 would ever happen following salary disputes and Renner's snowplow accident, the actor told Empire Magazine he's quite sure they'll 'end up doing Season 2, and do other [Marvel Studios] things.' 'I'm always happy to be in that world, man,' he said. 'I love all those guys, I love the character…And I'm happy to do it. My body's getting ready for something like that. I don't know if anybody wants to see me in tights, but my body will look good in the tights.' Renner further said he's now 'more than 150 per cent' of where he was physically prior to the snowplow incident. He continued, 'Having health and wellness be such a central part of my life, that's what's gotten me back. And even as I age, I just feel stronger than I've been. I have some issues, and tendon issues and certain limitations of flexibility and mobility, but I spent a lot of time on getting better and stronger, and I wouldn't if I didn't get crushed.' There has been no official word about Hawkeye being renewed for a second season from Marvel at this time. It's also not clear if Renner will appear in any of the forthcoming Avengers movies — Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars — as he has not been part of the announced cast up until now. The first season of Marvel Television's Hawkeye is available to stream on Disney+. Originally reported by Brandon Schreur at SuperHeroHype.
