Luke Beveridge responds as expert AFL commentator Kane Cornes questions Bulldogs' ‘deplorable' defensive profile

The feud between Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge and expert AFL commentator Kane Cornes is clearly not dissipating with Beveridge again proving he is not handling criticism well. After losing to Adelaide at Marvel Stadium on the weekend, the Dogs are currently ninth on the ladder with a questionable record against teams above them on the ladder. Know the news with the 7NEWS app: Download today They conceded 109 points in the loss to the Crows and Cornes, who rates the playing group highly, has put the coach in the spotlight due to the team's 'deplorable' defensive profile. They are 1-7 against top-eight teams this year and rank ninth for points against. 'Every single year I sit in a chair like this and we've got the same discussion about the Bulldogs,' Cornes said on Channel 7's The Agenda Setters. 'So we're here again because no coach does less with more than that man, Luke Beveridge. Sam Power (Bulldogs list boss) has handed him a high-powered sports car and he drives it like a busted up Camry. That's just the reality of it.' Cornes clearly hit a nerve with Beveridge unable to bite his tongue during a media conference on Wednesday. When questioned about Cornes' latest swipe, Beveridge asked if any of the journalists present worked with the 300-game Port Adelaide great. 'I just feel sorry for you,' Beveridge said, before walking off. Beveridge's feuding history with members of the media is long and rich. And Cornes' questions on the Bulldogs and the coach are not without reason. Cornes believes the list is up there with the best teams in the comp and thinks they will feature in the finals. But they rank ninth for points against from turnovers at 44.6 per game and are 14th for stopping their opposition scoring once they are inside-50. 'They're so offensively minded with the football that when you do turn the footy over, off turnover, they're horrible,' Cornes said. 'And their profile, they don't score heavily enough off their own turnover. 'They'll make the finals. But once again, we're having the exact same conversation about a coach that they re-signed when they didn't need to.' On Friday the Bulldogs have a huge clash with reigning premiers Brisbane at the Gabba which shapes as season-defining. Last time they played in Gather Round in April, the Dogs led the Lions by 39 points. But in a dramatic change of events, the Lions found form to produce a 60-point swing and win by 21 points. Marcus Bontempelli 'close' to re-signing with Bulldogs Luke Beveridge believes the club and captain Marcus Bontempelli are moving closer to a new deal. Arguably the best player in the AFL, the 29-year-old is off-contract at the end of the season. With just six weeks before the end of the home and away campaign, Bulldogs fans have become increasingly anxious about their premiership-winning superstar. While tight-lipped, Beveridge's response and grin indicated he wasn't too concerned about Bontempelli potentially seeking a league-shifting move elsewhere. 'I think we're getting close, but that's all I can really say,' Beveridge said on Wednesday. Beveridge's remarks came on a day when Jamarra Ugle-Hagan returned to the club after more than a week away spent dealing with a family matter back in his home in western Victoria. Ugle-Hagan trained with the main group as the Dogs prepare for their Friday night blockbuster against the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba. The 23-year-old hasn't played a game at any level this season after dealing with mental health and personal issues. 'I can't really give you much other than he's chipping away, and he's training when he can,' Beveridge said of Ugle-Hagan. 'He's had some bereavement stuff back with the mob in Framlingham and he's working his way back through his fitness levels.'

'I tasted Blackpool's famous £1 burger and was left baffled'

A burger bar in Blackpool has been a popular spot for years thanks to its bargain food prices - but what does the burger taste like? One man went to find out Finding a lunch for £1 in today's economy is no easy feat, with even a supermarket meal deal setting you back at least £3.60 at Tesco. However, there's one spot in Blackpool where you can still nab a burger for just a quid - and it appears the owner has no plans to hike up the prices anytime soon. But does it pass the taste test? Higgitt's Las Vegas Arcade in the popular seaside resort continues to draw in the crowds. Recent TripAdvisor reviews rave that you "genuinely can't get better value than this" and praise the burgers as "big and delicious". ‌ One customer even journeyed "a long way" to try the "famous £1 burger" and found it did not "it didn't disappoint". ‌ Online influencer Spencer, also known as Gully, took to his @lifeatgully TikTok account to share his verdict on the £1 burger, which left him rather taken aback. Scanning the menu, he noticed a cheeseburger was available for an additional 50p. Other options such as a Spam and Egg Barm, Sausage and Egg Barm and a Spam and Cheese Barm were priced at just £1.50. Meanwhile, a Burger and Onions, Hot Dogs, Egg Barm, Spam Barm and Sausage Barm all came in at a mere £1 each. Gully opted for a £1 burger with onions and ketchup. While waiting, he queried the owner if he planned to "move away from the £1 burger", following its online fame, to which the response was a resounding "No, no, no!". ‌ He then proceeded to sample the burger, jokingly taking his first bite "with caution" due to its speedy preparation time of "it was ready in about eight seconds". However, he was pleasantly surprised by the flavour. "It's actually not bad. I don't think they're too bad. I'm not even going to complain about it. Decent." ‌ He wasn't the only one who thought the burgers were worth every penny. "I went on Saturday. It's actually decent," one customer said. Another chimed in: "I've been there before and it's such good burgers I think. "They're just as good as any burgers in Blackpool honestly," another added. Reporter Conaill Corner from the ECHO also recently visited the popular spot and was happy to sing its praises: From the point that I told the chef my order of burger and onions to the moment when he'd wrapped it up and placed it in front of me, the time which had passed mustn't have been more than 30 seconds - a turnaround time that puts supposed 'fast-food restaurants' to shame. And, I have to say, it was good. Not gourmet, not award-winning, but good in that way only seaside burgers can be. The kind that reminds you of childhood trips to the coast, the smell of salt in the air, and a ketchup-slicked bun in your little mitts. The burger was moist, generously sized, and sandwiched between a no nonsense oven bottom muffin. Nostalgia served hot.

German Shepherd Visits Mom at Work and Instantly Gets the Zoomies

German Shepherd Visits Mom at Work and Instantly Gets the Zoomies originally appeared on Parade Pets. Sometimes we just can't contain our excitement. Maybe you got a promotion at work or earned a higher-than-expected grade on that final exam. Perhaps you scored a last-second goal to win the game. Or maybe the thrill of seeing your favorite singer perform a live show has got your heart beating way faster than usual. Dogs can feel that same energy and release it in the absolute cutest way! Pieck the is sure feelin' it! On a recent trip to her pet mamma's office, Pieck absolutely loses it. In a video uploaded to TikTok, we get to see her spin in circles and dart from room to room. And just like any kid will do, she gets a full head of steam going and slides across the hardwood office floors. 'When you bring your dog to the office for the first time,' Pieck's pet parent notes in the caption. 'I should have seen this coming.' This girl's childlike exuberance is so sweet to see! 'OMG so cute!' said a fan on TikTok. 'She's so happy!' I wonder what got her so excited at the office? Maybe she had a meeting that got canceled? (We've been there!) Perhaps her doggie manager told her they'd be away from the office and offline for about a week? Those are the kinds of things that delight most workers! 'So much room for zooms!' added another course, zooms or zoomies, known as frenetic random activity periods, are sudden, intense bursts of energy in dogs, where they run around erratically, often in circles or zigzags. This behavior is a normal way for dogs to release pent-up energy, relieve stress, or express excitement. Other viewers shared stories about taking their pups to the office, and I just can't get over some of the sweet tales they shared. 🐶🐾🐾 'When I take my dog to the office, he takes me STRAIGHT to payroll, cuz they give him treats,' said a commenter. Taking your pets to the office can be so much fun, and based on the joy Pieck shows, maybe I'll bring my two cats to the office one day. OK, maybe not. But a gal can dream, right?
