BLAST Slam IV is heading to Singapore this November
The ES Times — BLAST has officially announced that BLAST Slam IV, the fourth edition of its Dota 2 tournament series, will be held live in Singapore this November. For the first time in the series' history, fans will be able to experience the action in person. A historic return since The International 2022 BLAST Slam IV marks the first Dota 2 tournament in Singapore since that landmark event. After three editions held behind closed doors in Copenhagen, the series is now set to make its live debut at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. From studio battles to on-field spectacle BLAST began its esports journey by organizing Counter-Strike 2 tournaments and has built a strong reputation for high-profile productions. In November 2024, the Danish organization entered the Dota 2 scene with BLAST Slam I, followed by Slam II in February 2025. Each tournament featured a $1 million prize pool and was broadcast from BLAST's Copenhagen studio. Confirmed live audience from November 7 to 9 This time, things will be different. The final three days of BLAST Slam IV will be held at the iconic Singapore Indoor Stadium, with fans welcomed from November 7 to 9. Ticket access and pre-registration Fans who register on will gain early access to tickets one day before the general sale. Once registered and alerts are activated, an email with a purchase link will be sent during the pre-sale period. The general sale begins the following day, so early registration is advised. BLAST has also partnered with a travel provider to offer all-inclusive packages featuring tickets and hotel accommodations for international fans. A major milestone on the Dota 2 competitive calendar Scheduled between the Esports World Cup 2025 and The International 2025, BLAST Slam IV is set to be one of the year's most anticipated live Dota 2 events. As with previous editions, the prize pool will remain at $1 million. SRG.OG can defend Mid Season Cup title, says Dota 2 legend
KUALA LUMPUR: French Dota 2 legend Sebastien "Ceb" Debs sees similarities between his former world championship-winning OG Esports roster and the current Selangor Red Giants ( squad. defeated Homebois 4-0 in the Grand Finals of the Season 15 Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Professional League Malaysia (MPL MY) to secure a historic third consecutive league crown at Juara Stadium last Sunday (June 15). They are now on a short break before beginning preparations to defend their Mid Season Cup x Esports World Cup title in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia next month. Ceb, who recently joined as their technical director, likened their unity and mindset to that of the OG line-up that famously won The International (TI) back-to-back in 2018 and 2019. OG remain the only team in Dota 2 history to win consecutive TI titles. "I told them ( that they are bringing me back to the happiest days I've had in my career," said Ceb recently. "There are actually a lot of similarities, and while it's hard for me to explain all of them, I see it in the way they treat each other, how they prepare and how they approach big games. It's a very strong group." Ceb, who served as both player and coach during his time with OG, is not only sharing his experiences with but is also learning from them. "I came with the mindset of understanding the group first, and I wanted to transfer my experiences," he said. "But I also learned a lot from them. It's an amazing group with great mentality, and I'm just excited to see what they'll show in the future." Having experienced what it takes to win and defend world titles, Ceb believes have the tools to defend their crown in Riyadh. "I'm familiar with what it means to win a big title and go for a second. I told them, 'You're not defending it. You already won it, and it's yours forever. Now you go and try to get another'," he said.

The tournament is set to be the largest in esports history, featuring more than 2,000 professional players representing 200 clubs from over 100 countries, with a record-breaking prize pool of USD 70 million. The competition will span 25 titles, including popular competitive games such as CrossFire, Dota 2, League of Legends, PUBG, Valorant and Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves (where Ronaldo himself happens to be a playable character). As ambassador, Ronaldo will lead the tournament's global campaign, leveraging his social media following of over 850 million to spotlight the event and support the continued rise of Saudi Arabia's esports ecosystem on the world stage.

Elden Ring Nightreign is From's worst-rated game in years
FromSoftware's multiplayer Elden Ring spin-off has hit over 300,000 players on Steam, but it's proving a divisive experience. Elden Ring Nightreign launched today around the world and while it doesn't necessarily play to developer FromSoftware's strengths, it has had a strong start on Steam (its success on consoles is much harder to track). As recorded on SteamDB, the co-op multiplayer spin-off has hit a concurrent player peak of 313,593 within its first day on Steam. This is significantly lower than Elden Ring's overall peak of 953,426 players, but it's pretty good for a lower profile and lower budget game. At the time of writing, Elden Ring Nightreign is the fifth most played game on the platform, behind Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, PUBG, and er… Bongo Cat. However, not everyone is happy with the experience so far, and it's already become FromSoftware's lowest rated title on Steam. As of May 30, Elden Ring Nightreign has a 'mixed' rating on Steam, with only 66% of 9,000+ reviews being positive. This is technically the lowest of all FromSoftware's available PC games (if we aren't counting the delisted Ninja Blade), although technically DLC The Ashes Of Ariandel for Dark Souls 3 is lower at 59% rating. Many of the negative reviews for Elden Ring Nightreign have highlighted the lack of voice chat, the absence of duos mode, and the minimal variety during runs as particular sore points. 'I hate to say it, but I think we've finally see a bit of a miss from FromSoftware,' one user review reads. 'One that I think is still salvageable, and really could be turned into a much more interesting game – but as it is right now, it's got a bit more bad than good going for it.' However, some are seeing the positives even if they do come with caveats. 'Super fun game,' another review reads. 'Your enjoyment will most likely be based on your teammates and how good your communication is.' In terms of critical response, Nightreign is currently at 77 on Metacritic, which isn't a disaster but is well below that of any of From's other major titles, since they hit the big time with Dark Souls in 2011. The only games to score lower are experimental VR title Déraciné and a suite of mech games, including Armored Core 5, in 2012. More Trending Speaking in an interview with IGN earlier this month, the director behind Elden Ring Nightreign, Junya Ishizaki, said they are considering adding a two-player mode post-launch, so there's a chance some of these issues could be fixed further down the line. The big question is whether Elden Ring Nightreign will attract a dedicated player base in the coming months to make these updates worthwhile, or if it's simply riding the popularity of Elden Ring. This multiplayer experiment, which many suspect started life as Elden Ring DLC, is perhaps also a test for FromSoftware's next multiplayer offering: The Duskbloods.
