Spice Up Your Accessory Game With New Malaysian Brand pokédots!

Malaysian shoppers looking to add a dose of fun and self-expression to their daily routines now have a new brand to discover. Enter pokédots, a fresh lifestyle label that's all about bold energy, creativity, and customisation. Officially launched in 1 Utama, pokédots. offers a playful approach to accessories and fashion with its unique concept: users can 'poke' interchangeable patches, pins, and charms into specially designed holes—or 'dots'—on their bags and accessories, creating endlessly personalised looks. At the centre of the brand's debut is the Carry All bag, made from durable, water-resistant EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate), a material that's lightweight, easy to clean, and certified under the Global Recycled Standard 4.0. Designed for versatility, the spacious bag transitions effortlessly from office companion to gym tote or even a stylish diaper bag for busy parents. Adding to the fun, pokédots. introduces the Café de Pokédots pin collection, a whimsical capsule of food-themed charms ranging from breakfast favourites to fast food delights, with charming nods to Japanese cuisine and patisseries. Customers can choose from statement singles or curated 6-piece sets. Matching accessories include notebook purses, coin pouches, and phone cases, all crafted in the brand's signature style. The pokédots experience extends to fashion with a range of fluid-sized apparel for both men and women. The T-shirt collection comes in slim and oversized fits, with colourways including classic black, navy, and white, alongside soft pastels like blush pink and sky blue. Made for Malaysia's tropical heat, the shirts are crafted from high-performance Sorona® fabric, offering antibacterial properties, cooling technology, and UV protection. To celebrate its launch, pokédots. is offering an in-store exclusive promotion throughout its first month: with every purchase, customers can spin the gashapon machine for a chance to win a carabiner or pin. Those who purchase a Carry All bag will also receive a complimentary 6-piece pin set. Shoppers can explore pokédots. at its physical store in 1 Utama (Second Floor, SK3D), online at or via Shopee (POKEDOTS.). Follow them on Instagram (@ and Facebook (@Pokédots.) for the latest updates and collection drops. Alyssa Gabrielle contributed to this article

Electric Kiwi launches open tender to encourage renewable energy projects

Solar panels, grass and and blue sky. Photo: 123RF Small power retailer Electric Kiwi is looking to spur the development of renewable energy projects through long term power deals. It's calling on developers to tender for long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) and potentially a battery storage tolling arrangement. Electric Kiwi will offer successful tenderers 10-to-15 year deals to buy their renewable power, guaranteeing itself a long term supply of power, while giving generators a guaranteed buyer to justify the investment in a project. "This is a significant opportunity for New Zealand's renewable developers to have their existing facility or planned project backed by a long-term commercial agreement," Electric Kiwi chief operating officer Nick Haines said. "A PPA with Electric Kiwi represents a win-win. Importantly, we get price stability and diversity of supply, while developers get long-term purchase agreements that can unlock financing and help accelerate their projects." He said the PPAs were part of the company's plant to expand its business by focusing on securing long-term, fixed-price supply from new renewable generation across New Zealand. The tender is being managed by EVA Marketplace, with expressions of interest being accepted for the next couple of weeks, and firms bids to be lodged by September. EVA founder Paul Coster said their role was to broker "high quality, enduring agreements for Electric Kiwi while ensuring a fair, competitive process for developers". Electric Kiwi has more than 80,000 customers, mostly domestic, and last year briefly suspended taking on new customers because of high wholesale electricity prices. The company has been a loud critic of the dominance of the major four gentailers - Contact, Genesis, Meridian and Mercury - and the operation of the overall electricity market. How to bag a bargain in premium economy: Here's how to get up to 63 per cent off your holiday flights - with extra leg room, superior food and speedier boarding too

Can't afford first or business class but want something more comfortable than economy? That's why 'premium economy' was invented. In the 1990s airlines realised they were missing out on an 'inbetween' market for those with a little more to spend but not a fortune. In 1991, the Taiwanese airline EVA Air led the way by introducing Evergreen Class. Virgin was quick to follow, calling its offering Mid Class, before the name changed to Premium Economy in 1994. BA introduced its version, World Traveller Plus, in 2000.

I hit the beach and tested the viral Bogg bag and its accessories. Here's my honest review

Bogg's signature tote has become a standout to other beach bags for its oversized scale and durable design. A favorite among moms on the move, it's fun, functional and made to withstand whatever life throw's at it (and you). The Bogg bag has been touted as a game changer for families or anyone who schleps a lot (hi, that's me!). In addition to the bag, which comes in tons of colors and patterns, as well as three sizes, there's a growing lineup of Bogg accessories you can add on too. So I decided to try out the range of products myself to see just how handy it'll be for you this summer. A post shared by CNN Underscored (@cnnunderscored) Bogg Original Bogg Bag This gargantuan tote is handy for hauling gear to and from outdoor events and activities. It rings in at 19 by 9 by 14 inches and is made from durable ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) that stands up to water, sand, mud and dirt. Not your average handbag or tote, the Original Bogg bag was designed to be an 'indestructible' accessory, and I can attest that it feels super sturdy. The boxy tote stands up on its own and has a treaded bottom for extra stability, making it easy to pack and keep things accessible. Because it's hefty, you don't have to worry about it sliding around or tipping over in the car either. The EVA material is low maintenance and easy to clean. After taking it to the beach, I was impressed to see that the sand didn't stick to the bag and any sand or dirt that got in the interior simply wiped away with a wet cloth. If it got really mucky, it would be easy to just hose it down since it's waterproof. The Original Bogg bag also comes with two clear pouches (one small and one large) that are perfect for storing personal belongings, like your keys and wallet, in a designated spot. These inserts can snap into the interior or exterior of your bag so you don't have to rummage through the rest of your stuff. I found the plastic zip pouches great for keeping sunscreen and other potentially leaky products out of the way. You can also add on other accessories that are made specially for Bogg bags. What I liked: The Original Bogg tote is spacious, sturdy and easy to clean. Whether loading it up for a beach day, picnic or other outing, there's plenty of room for all your belongings. I'd recommend it for parents or families that are packing for more than one person. What I didn't like: While the Original Bogg tote is great if you want to pack in a lot, its oversized dimensions also feel a bit bulky. Because the tote itself is wide, one strap was constantly falling off my shoulder and I had to hold it in place. Plus, the bag on its own is 5 pounds, so when it's loaded up with a day's worth of beach essentials, it feels like an arm workout just to haul it around. Bogg Baby Bogg Bag Bogg's medium-sized tote is a practical size to carry daily. There's ample room for essentials like your laptop, headphones, a book and more. Basically all the pros I noted about the Original Bogg bag ring true for the Baby Bogg; it's just a more manageable size for an everyday tote. It stands up, wipes clean and has plenty of interior space. It measures 15 by 5 by 12.5 inches, which I found far more comfortable to carry (no shoulder slippage!), and according to the brand, it even has the same 40-pound weight capacity as the Original. The Baby Bogg also comes with one detachable insert pouch. What I liked: This Bogg bag is just as practical as the Original tote, and I think it's an even better option if you're only packing for one. I was able to pack a beach towel, sunscreen, sunglasses, a book, some snacks and a swimsuit in the Baby Bogg, setting me up for a sweet beach day. What I didn't like: This Bogg bag felt just right for me, so I didn't find any major flaws here. One thing I noticed with the Original and the Baby is that the straps always stand upright unless you pivot them down, and there's a bit of a technique you have to use so the straps themselves don't get twisted the wrong way. It just takes some trial and error to get them in the right spot, and apparently, its a known puzzle since the brand has a tutorial video on how to untwist the straps. Bogg Bitty Bogg Bag The Bitty Bogg bag is 11 by 4.5 by 8.5 inches, making it a compact choice that can be used for lighter load days. I didn't test the Bitty Bogg personally, but it rounds out the brand's core collection so it's worth mentioning. It's weight capacity is 20 pounds, which is half the other bags' limit, and it's advertised as a cute handbag or kid-friendly tote. Bogg Call Me Bogg Phone Holder This phone holder can snap into any size Bogg bag (although the brand says it works best with the Original or Baby) and is made of the same low-maintenance EVA. Bogg's modular accessories add extra personality to your tote. You can either coordinate colors or mix and match. And if you're someone who always needs your phone in reach, the Call Me Bogg has your back. I appreciated that the holder was quite deep, so my iPhone 15 Pro felt safe and didn't run the risk of slipping out of the top. What I liked: The phone holder snaps into the Bogg bag's holes very securely. Even when it was on the exterior of my bag, I wasn't worried about the Call Me Bogg (and my phone) flying off. What I didn't like: I'm not sure the Call Me Bogg is worth the price, which is something I found with most of Bogg's accessories. You could easily place your phone in one of the included inserts instead of purchasing this separate holder. Also, perfectionists might be irked that it doesn't always sit straight. My Call Me Bogg was usually a little off-kilter since it only attaches to the bag via one hole toward the top of the holder. Bogg Bevy Drink Holder The Bogg Bevy drink holder hooks onto the edge of any Bogg bag and keeps your water bottle at the ready so you can stay hydrated all day long. According to the brand, this drink holder fits 12- to 16-ounce cups, cans and small water bottles. I used it with my 24-ounce Owala Free Sip Twist, and even with its taller profile, the water bottle stayed snugly in the holder. While the Bevy never fell off my tote, it would move around a bit. Weirdly, it jumped from one short edge of my bag to one of the long edges. I wish I had caught it on camera, but all I know is that it started on one side when I picked the bag up and was on the adjacent side by the time I set my bag down in my backyard. What I liked: The Bogg Bevy couldn't be easier to use. The two hooks slide over any side of the Bogg Bag, so you can place it wherever it's most comfortable and convenient for you. You can also place it facing inward if you're worried about knocking it off on the outside of the bag. What I didn't like: Again, this accessory isn't a necessity, but it can be useful if you want to free up some space on the interior of your bag. I'd grab this on sale, but I wouldn't pay full price. Bogg Brrr and a Half Cooler Insert One of the more practical accessories Bogg offers, this cooler insert fits perfectly in the Original Bogg bag, or it can be carried on its own with a detachable strap. Whether packing refreshments for game day or snacks for a picnic, a cooler bag is key for keeping things, well, cool. The half-size Bog Brrr effortlessly slips into the Original Bogg tote, allowing you to keep your food and drinks separate from the rest of your stuff. It features a top handle, mesh pocket on the inside of the lid and an exterior side pocket, which are all helpful for maximizing convenience. What I liked: The Bog Brrr and a Half's generous volume made it easy to use as a beach cooler and layer a couple ice packs on the bottom, put a few drinks on top and then pack snacks on top of those. You can also use the mesh pocket on the lid for an ice pack. What I didn't like: Compared to the many color options of the bags themselves, it seems the Brrr insert is only available in a few limited-run patterns. (The starfish-printed one I have is no longer available, for example.) Bogg Divvy Up Tote Divider This divider is made for the Original Bogg bag, allowing you to separate the tote into compartments. The Divvy Up is straightforward to use: Simply pop it vertically into any column of three holes in the Original Bogg bag to create individual compartments within the tote. Unfortunately, the practicality of this accessory was overshadowed by faulty functionality. One side of my Divvy Up kept coming loose, defeating the purpose of the compartments. What I liked: The divider feels substantial and isn't flimsy. In theory, it would be useful to create different sections in the Original bag to help with organization. What I didn't like: The Divvy Up kept popping loose as I carried my tote around. Bogg Tiny Tote Keychain This adorable keychain features a minuscule version of the Bogg bag. In the age of Labubu keychains and other bag charms, there's never been a better time to flaunt a new keychain. Modeled after the iconic bags, the Tiny Tote Keychain features all the defining details like strap buttons, a tread bottom and perforated sides. Unlike the bags, it's made from silicone instead of EVA. The ring clip makes it easy to attach to a zipper pull or other keyring. What I liked: The Tiny Tote Keychain makes a cute add-on or gift for die-hard Bogg fans. The fact that the itty-bitty tote is somewhat functional makes the cute design even better. I was hoping it would be the right size to hold my AirPods case, but sadly, it didn't fit. What I didn't like: I wish the clip were big enough to fit around the strap of the Original and Baby Bogg bags. The brand says it may fit around the strap of the Bitty Bogg Bag. Bogg Bit Tote Charm Available in dozens of fun shapes, from your favorite sports balls to summer fruits, add on these charms to decorate and personalize your Bogg bag. While I didn't pick up any Bogg Bits myself, they're another cute accessory that makes the Bogg bags stand out. Similar to Crocs Jibbitz, you place them in the holes of the bag to add your own flair. Bogg also offers a few other accessories that I didn't personally grab, like bag tassels, bag strap wraps, decorative inserts and the often-sold-out bag topper/snack station, Top o' The Bogg to Ya. Bogg's totes are great for those looking for a durable and practical bag that can haul a lot. They'll help you pack for a range of activities, and they can withstand pretty much anything. Since they're easily washable and waterproof, they make a great sidekick for outdoor outings, from summer beach days to winter ski trips. Plus, the myriad of colors and ability to mix and match the accessories is part of their charm, even though I wouldn't consider any of the attachments must-haves. Bogg's bags may seem expensive at first glance, but I think they're priced fairly. The Original tote is just under $100 and can hold an impressive amount of stuff. If you're looking for cheaper alternatives, there are some lookalike options at Amazon, Target and CVS, but with Bogg, you are ensured a high-quality product and can reach out to the brand for support if needed. For example, Bogg offers replacement buttons and you can purchase new straps by emailing its customer service. Overall, their low-maintenance upkeep, sturdiness and generous range of sizes make Bogg bags a sensible choice for families of all sizes. Are Bogg bags comfortable to carry? Are Bogg bags comfortable to carry? It depends on the size of the bag — and your size too. As a 5-foot-2-inch woman, the Original Bogg felt huge to carry and the straps didn't sit comfortably on my shoulder. The Baby Bogg felt comparable to a standard tote size-wise and wasn't cause for any complaints in the comfort department for me. Is Bogg owned by Crocs? Is Bogg owned by Crocs? Although they look like they could be related, Bogg is not owned by Crocs. Bogg was launched in 2011 by mom and entrepreneur Kim Vaccarella.
