9 Pairs of Jorts And The Summer Shoes To Pair Them With, From Jelly Shoes to Sneakerinas
It's safe to say that 2025 is the year of the hybrid garment, from sneakerinas (the trainer and ballet-shoe mash-up) to skirts-over-trousers. But none has gained pace quite like the jort. Longline denim shorts appeared on the Spring/Summer '25 catwalks at Etro, OpéraSport and Filippa K, and on showgoers themselves, who styled jorts from Agolde, Haikure and Diesel with baby tees, blazers, and oversized shirts, and some of our favourite summer shoes – but more on that later. Borrowing from both jeans and shorts, jorts tend to be longer than your classic cutoffs, baggier than a bermuda, and come in all manner of washes, from smart indigo and white rinses to classic, worn-in blue. Crucially, they look just as good with a comfy and cool fisherman sandal or jelly shoe as they do with kitten-heel mules and strappy heels. It turns out that all you really need for the perfect hot-weather outfit are some great jorts and a pair of one of summer's trending shoes, and everything else just falls into place. From pastel jorts and kitten heels to baggy denim shorts and flip flops, we have compiled a guide to the perfect jort-shoe pairings, below. Kitten heels temper the boyishness of the jort; one needs only to look at Opéra Sport's Spring/Summer '25 collection, where true-blue denim was paired with strappy mules, for proof. We especially love content creator Liv Madeline's unexpected pairing of lemon-yellow and claret-red. Two summers in and the jelly shoe is still going strong, from Chloé's kitten-heel iteration to Ancient Greek Sandals' Iro ballet flats. On holiday, style them with Agolde's high-waist jorts and a smocked crop top. Jorts in a lighter wash – either cream, white or ecru – have a preppy feel, especially when teamed with a matching jacket. Play to this with classic ballet flats, or inject a little edge with a Tabi shoe – Margiela's painted pair nods to the history of the brand, when the designer would repurpose unsold boots for fashion shows by painting them. Here we see stylist Allison Bornstein's 'wrong shoe theory' in action – a pair of sneakerinas (the trainer-meets-ballet-shoe hybrid) and crisp, indigo-rinse culottes. And, well, it works. The sneakerinas at the top of our list include the Puma Speedcat Ballet, Adidas Taekwondo Mae, and Ganni's lace-up ballet flats. Longtime jorts fan Hailey Bieber is particularly partial to a vintage, bleach-wash pair by Levi's, which she always wears with white socks and a rotation of shoes, including fisherman sandals, trainers (both slimline and chunky) and, our favourite, loafers. We love how they put a preppy twist on an otherwise casual outfit. Once relegated to the beach and poolside, flip flops have risen up as a fashion staple. You can't go wrong when teaming a black pair with baggy blue jorts and a white shirt, though you may also want to consider some laden with crystals (by Loeffler Randall), rivets, or dangly charms, as seen in Gimaguas' viral collab with Havaianas. There are few garments that have remained virtually unchanged since ancient times, but the fisherman sandal is one. We can attribute the shoe's more recent revival to The Row, whose caged sandal debuted in 2019 and continues to be relevant today. Opt for a pair with a slimmer profile to wear with sleek, raw denim jorts and an elegant blouse. 3D flower-appliquéd heels are decidedly more unexpected than the usual summertime floral motifs. Moreover, they transform a classic blue-jorts-and-white-shirt outfit. Cult Gaia's Cassidy sandals, which create the effect of calla lilies entwining the feet, are high on our wish lists. Technically, denim cutoffs classify as jorts (they are jean-shorts, after all), and, since they are a longstanding summer staple, we are including them here. We're still thinking about this outfit Bella Hadid wore this time last year, which includes the aforementioned Daisy Dukes (the more frayed, the better), a pair of cowboy boots, and a fitted tee. Taylor Swift makes Madame Tussauds history with 13 new figures inspired by Eras Tour outfits
Taylor Swift has made Madam Tussauds history as 13 new wax figures of the singer will be unveiled across 13 cities and four continents – the largest multi-figure launch in Tussauds' 250-year history. The landmark wax work collection celebrates Swift's record-breaking Eras Tour, which ran from March 2023 to December 2024 and made history as the highest grossing tour of all time for two years in a row. Tussauds said in a statement that the exhibit aims to 'make guests feel as if they've stepped on stage' at the Eras Tour. The figures were created by a team of more than 40 artists over 14 months. First-look images released by Tussauds show figures now on display in Hollywood, Las Vegas, New York, Orlando and Nashville, wearing recognisable outfits from Swift's various album eras. Hollywood's Speak Now wax figure is dressed in a lilac ball gown with an ombré skirt. Meanwhile, Las Vegas's Fearless figure dons a gold-fringed Roberto Cavalli minidress worn by Swift. Elsewhere, New York's Midnights figure wears a recreation of Swift's tinsel jacket and deep blue Zuhair Murad playsuit and Orlando's Reputation figure wears a black sequin catsuit, also by Roberto Cavalli. Lastly, Nashville is home to the evermore waxwork; a figure of Swift wearing a replica of the pop superstar's mustard floor-length Etro dress. Madame Tussauds' global brand director Laura Sheard said the 'phenomenal success' of Swift's record-breaking tour provided the 'perfect moment' for Tussauds to celebrate her. 'Thirteen figures – Taylor's lucky number,' she said. 'Across four continents to ensure we're reaching as many fans as possible. We just know they are going to love it as much as we do.' The Eras Tour brought in $2.2bn (£1.6bn) in its nearly two-year run, making it the highest-grossing tour of all time for two years in a row. Swift earned praise for her generosity during the tour, donating hundreds of thousands of pounds to food banks in the cities where she performed. The pop star played the final show of her tour in Vancouver last December, where she told fans the shows had been 'the most exciting, powerful, electrifying, intense, most challenging' experience of her life.

Etro opens new home boutique and showroom in Tokyo
Etro is making a bold move into Japan's luxury interiors scene. On July 23, the Milanese fashion house will unveil a new Etro Home boutique and showroom inside its flagship store in Tokyo's upscale Ginza district. Spanning nearly 200 square meters, the dedicated space marks a strategic step in the brand's growing focus on high-end home design. The boutique enhances Etro's footprint in the country, where it already operates over 40 shop-in-shop locations. The home-focused space is set on the store's lower level, while the ground floor continues to showcase Etro's ready-to-wear and accessories collections for women and men. This marks the brand's second standalone Etro Home boutique, following the debut of its first in Milan in 2014, launched alongside its initial furniture collection. The Tokyo boutique brings to life Etro's distinctive home universe, defined by rich colors, plush materials, bold prints, and refined craftsmanship. The space features several of the brand's signature pieces, including the Woodstock sofa, the Quiltana and Reed armchairs, and the Frame coffee tables, accented with bamboo-inspired detailing. Etro developed the concept in collaboration with Oniro Group, its design partner and licensee since 2017. Based in Lombardy, the furniture manufacturer oversees the Etro Home Interiors collection. Meanwhile, Etro designs its Etro Home Textile line in-house, covering cushions, curtains, table linens, and decorative pieces such as vases and tableware. Rooted in a legacy of textiles, the brand began as a fabric editor for home furnishings before expanding into accessories. Celebrated worldwide for its iconic paisley motif and opulent materials, Etro has been majority-owned by L Catterton—a private equity firm co-founded by LVMH—since 2021, while the founding family retains a 40% stake. Today, the label operates 160 stores across more than 20 countries, with a strong presence in Europe, Japan, South Korea, the United States, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region. The Tokyo boutique reflects Etro's broader ambition to carve out a stronger identity in the world of interior design. The brand recently expanded into luxury residential living through a series of branded developments. In October 2022, it unveiled Etro Residences Istanbul in partnership with Rams Global, followed by the announcement of Etro Residences Phuket in April. A third project, revealed in May, will rise in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates—just an hour from Dubai—through a collaboration with Mira Developments.
