Shashi Tharoor's Nephew Tries To Find Out ‘Weird Stuff In His Mind' — FOMO Hits Indians
Shashi Tharoor's witty video with his nephew leads to fans asking about entering the Tharoor family, while others said that the laughter was like 'Shakespearan English!!' Shashi Tharoor is known for his sharp answers and rarely makes mistakes on the global stage. But recently, his nephew Avinash caught him in an awkward moment. Tharoor shared a video where Avinash asked him quick questions. At first, the politician answered easily and confidently. But things changed when his nephew asked why he didn't give him a gift on his 10th birthday, while his brother got an expensive present. This question made Tharoor pause and find it hard to answer. In the clip shared by Tharoor on Instagram, his nephew asked, 'I'm in a pretty fancy hotel room here with my uncle. I feel like the public doesn't know enough about all the weird stuff going on in his mind." Avinash starts the session by asking, 'If you had to be an animal, which one would you be?" Shashi Tharoor replied, 'A lion because of its strength, its majesty, its sense of command and power, but that's almost a typical political answer." Avinash then asked Tharoor, 'Which city do you think has the best food?" Tharoor replied, 'Tough one, Thiruvananthapuram, I think is the answer." Avinash smiled and said he expected that, then added, 'Which city has the second-best food?" Tharoor said, 'No 2 in many ways is Delhi. My years in New York gave me a variety of cuisine you can't see anywhere else on the planet." For the next question, Shashi Tharoor was not prepared at all. His nephew Avinash asked, 'For my 10th birthday, you didn't give me anything, but you gave my brother a Game Boy. Why?" Tharoor was seen laughing. While trying to handle the awkward moment, he replied, 'I guess he must have been with me on his birthday and you weren't. I certainly got you so many years, young man, and I'll make up for it next time." In the caption, the politician wrote, 'My regular London morning of tea and the newspaper came with an unexpected addition: a quiz from my nephew Avinash." Reacting to the post, a user wrote, 'The man is a masterclass of grace: 'I'll make up for it the next time.' Only Shashi Tharoor knows how to win hearts in response to the pettiest questions." Another shared, 'Guy laughs in Shakespeare." 'What is the procedure to come into the Tharoor family?" a comment read. An individual stated, 'First time I hear stammer a little when grilled by his nephew on having missed his gift on the 10th Birthday." Another mentioned, 'Mr Tharoor again enchanting us by his eloquence, exuberantly flabbergasted." Shashi Tharoor's nephew also asked about hangover cures, but the politician smoothly dodged it, saying he doesn't know such things. tags : shashi tharoor viral news view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. First time I hear Shashi Tharoor ‘stammer' — Congress MP ‘fumbles' as nephew grills him on THIS question
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor's new video has stunned the social media. On Instagram, netizens claim that this was the "first time" that they saw Tharror "stammer" or 'fumble for an answer.' Shashi Tharoor took to Instagram on Friday to share a video shot by his nephew Avinash in a 'fancy' hotel room. The clip shows Tharoor holding a newspaper in his hand and answering Avinash's 'quick fire questions'. Tharoor captioned the video as: 'My regular London morning of tea and the newspaper came with an unexpected addition: a quiz from my nephew Avinash.' The first question Avinash asked Tharoor was: 'If you had to be an animal, which one would you be?' Tharoor said he would like to be a lion 'because of its strength, its majesty, its sense of command and power.' Responding to another question, Tharoor said he believes Thiruvananthapuram, from where he is an MP, has the 'best food', and Delhi is the city with the 'second best food.' He also added, 'My years in New York gave me a variety of cuisines you can't see anywhere else on the planet.' When asked about some tips for the 'hangover cure', Tharoor said, 'I never had a hangover, Avinash. I try to know when to stop.' One segment in the video shocked social media. It was when Avinash asked his uncle Tharoor why he had missed giving him his 10th birthday present. 'For my 10th birthday, you didn't give me you gave my brother a Game Boy, brand new Game Boy. Why?' Avinash asked Tharoor. The Thiruvananthapuram Congress MP chortled and replied, 'I guess, he must have been with me on his birthday and you weren' 10th birthday is a very long time away. I have given you so many gift young man, and I'll make up for it the next time.' It was this moment that caught social media's attention. On Instagram user commented in the video, saying, 'First time I hear stammer a little when grilled by his nephew on having missed his gift on the 10th Birthday😂' Another remarked, 'First time we've seen you fumble for an answer! Well done to the nephew!' Many others praised Tharoor for his replies, saying. 'The man is a masterclass of grace: 'I'll make up for it the next time' ❤️ Only Shashi Tharoor knows how to win hearts in response to pettiest questions.' Several comments on the Congress MP's laugh. One said, 'His laugh is also in british accent.' Another lauded, 'You are simply a delight to watch and hear Dr. Tharoor ❤️😍😍'

The Atomic Purple Game Boy of VR Headsets Is Here, and It's Glorious
I'll admit it, I'm a sucker for Atomic Purple. There's just something about the Game Boy nostalgia that gets me every time. Slap a translucent shell on just about anything and you've got my attention. That goes for Nothing's products, these Beats earbuds, and the many, many retro Anbernic handhelds. Now, it goes for Bigscreen's Beyond 2e VR headset, too. We're excited to partner with @VRChat to launch the Bigscreen Beyond 2e: VRChat Edition — Bigscreen (@BigscreenVR) July 16, 2025The recently released Beyond 2e isn't a huge departure from the Beyond 2, but it does sport an exclusive 'Atomic Purple' shell that borrows style tips from Nintendo's iconic Atomic Purple colorway, which debuted on the 1998 Game Boy Color and later made its way to the N64. Not going to lie, I love it. Nostalgia, you dirty dog, you win again. While the Bigscreen Beyond 2e may look like a Game Boy, it's actually all about another thing—VRChat. Bigscreen made its new headset specifically for lovers of VRChat, a VR game-turned-social platform where you get to sport silly avatars and talk to other people. I could go down the rabbit hole talking about how strange VRChat can be, but for now, let's stick to hardware. From a technical perspective, there's not a huge difference between the Beyond 2 and 2e, but Bigscreen says that it did go all out to miniaturize its eye tracking. Believe it or not, according to them, the Beyond 2e has the world's smallest eye-tracking system and features a sensor the size of 'a grain of sand.' To help that tiny sensor, Bigscreen says it also worked on the software side of things. 'Unlike prior approaches, Beyond 2e's eye-tracking algorithms utilize novel computer vision techniques. We trained AI models of the human pupil and run inference on GPUs in real-time on models fine-tuned to each unique individual,' Bigscreen said in a statement. As Bigscreen notes, eye tracking is a big part of delivering a solid VRChat experience since it helps players translate their expressions more and make avatars more lifelike. It's hard to say how all of that hard work paid off from an eye-tracking perspective, but the fact that it can shrink something like that down so much is a feat in and of itself. For hardcore VRChat fans, this may not be the most high-tech experience (tethered headsets are still best for that), but it is lightweight at 107 grams, which is hard to argue with. Outside of eye tracking, Bigscreen is also including some other perks for VRChat users, including a special VRChat-themed box and some exclusive items and stickers for in-game use. If you're as jazzed about this Atomic Purple headset as I am, you may want to place a preorder quickly. Bigscreen's Beyond 2e is limited edition and only available 'while supplies last.' It starts at $1,269 but may be more expensive depending on what cushion you choose. It's set to ship in September.

Analogue's N64 clone is finally shipping, and there's good news for pre-orders
TL;DR Analogue announced its N64 FPGA device is finally shipping in August. Released in pre-order in October 2024, the Analogue 3D faced nearly a year of delays. Pre-orders are not subject to additional tariff charges, with Analogue eating the cost. The Analogue 3D made huge waves when it was made available for pre-order in October 2024, promising to play classic N64 cartridges in full 4K over HDMI. The $250 pre-orders quickly sold out, and after nearly a year of waiting, Analogue has announced that it will finally be shipping next month. This is the third time the company has delayed shipping, with initial estimates for the end of 2024, then July 2025, and now late-August 2025. Analogue cites 'last week's sudden tariff changes' as a reason for this final delays, but it appears that the date will actually stick this time. Tariffs have touched nearly every gaming handheld release this year, from the Retroid Pocket Flip 2 to the Nintendo Switch 2. Analogue has promised to absorb any extra tariff costs for pre-order customers, but it's not clear whether the product will ever be back in stock — and at what price. The Analogue 3D is a modern take on the N64, with Bluetooth and full 4K output. Despite its troubles with timeliness, Analogue is renowned for making excellent devices. The Analogue 3D is its third release after tackling the TurboGrafx-16 and Game Boy. The Analogue Pocket in particular impressed us in our review, although it now faces stiff competition from the ModRetro Chromatic. ModRetro has also teased an N64 FPGA device called the M64, although no concrete details have emerged as of yet. The Analogue 3D isn't a 1:1 copy of the N64, but rather a modern reinterpretation. It's still 100% compatible with the full N64 catalog, using low-level hardware emulation via FPGA chips to provide a much more authentic experience than software emulators could ever dream of. Given the difficulties with emulating the N64's unique architecture on modern devices, this makes a huge difference for retro gaming fans. In terms of modernizations, the console features full 4K output over HDMI, which is 10x the resolution of the original console. To keep things authentic, it has built-in filters to replicate the CRT look of displays at the time. It keeps the power and reset buttons of the original console, as well as all four controller ports. If you don't have (or just hate) original N64 controllers, Analogue has partnered with 8bitdo to create a modernized version, complete with Bluetooth compatibility and a design that's better suited to human physiology. It ships at the end of July, and is compatible with not just the Analogue 3D, but also PCs, Android devices, and even the Nintendo Switch. Got a tip? Talk to us!
