Juliet Stevenson paints to switch off
Juliet Stevenson paints to switch off her brain. The 68-year-old actress - whose notable films include 1991's Truly, Madly, Deeply, 1996's Emma and 2002's Bend It Like Beckham - says being a working mum makes it harder to have time to meditate or practice yoga or Pilates, so she opts for painting. She told Yours magazine: "I'm not somebody who can meditate, I don't do yoga, I don't do Pilates. "I just don't have the time. I think when you're a working mum, that's it - you've got your job, and you've got your kids. "The thing that gets me to switch my brain off more than anything is painting, because you get so obsessed with that pile of colour. You can dive into it and not think about anything else." The BAFTA-nominated star finally married her partner Hugh Brody after 30 years together in 2021. The Olivier-winning actress tied the knot with writer/director Hugh, who is in his 80s, in 2021 after spending more than three decades as a couple and having two children together. Asked if getting married changed their relationship in anyway, she told the Guardian newspaper in 2024: "Absolutely nothing at all! "So many people said: 'Oh, I felt quite different once we got married', but that's not true for me." She added: "The only reason we did it is we're older now, and it made a sort of sense." Juliet feels incredibly "lucky" to still be madly in love after so many years together. She said: "To have weathered some of the most challenging storms, and actually love each other even more after many, many years, makes me feel incredibly lucky. "Love needs time and energy. It's the most important force in the world." The couple was struck by tragedy back in 2020 when Hugh's son from a previous marriage, Tomo Brody, died suddenly aged 37. Juliet previously admitted losing her stepson was very painful and "frightening". In a previous interview with the Guardian, she said: "Tomo was one of the most beautiful human beings who ever walked the Earth. He was incapable of lying. And he was amazingly good at love. Losing a child, it's so frightening."

Hugh Jackman's net worth: A look at The Wolverine star's earnings, properties and more
Australian actor Hugh Jackman is all over the news as he finalised his divorce with Deborra-Lee Furness. It took one month after she filed for divorce to formally end their decades-long marriage. Prior to her filing, it is said that the two spent almost two years finalising the negotiations, thanks to their estimated $250 million fortune, as reported by Daily Mail. So, how rich is Hugh Jackman exactly? Going by Celebrity Net Worth, Hugh's net worth is said to be $120 million. The Daily Mail claims the actor's estimated net worth is around $200 million, ever since his Wolverine stint in Marvel's comic book franchise. A report of Forbes mentioned Hugh among the highest-paid actors of 2024, with an estimated net worth of $50 million ($66 million gross), largely driven by his X-Men roles and Les Mis. It says, 'After the emotional send-off of his Wolverine character in 2017's Logan, nothing short of a massive payday and the opportunity to work with his good friend Ryan Reynolds would have convinced the 56-year-old Jackman to don the adamantium claws once again. But Deadpool & Wolverine will likely end up being the most lucrative movie of his career.' Cosmopolitan reported that Hugh's main source of earnings comes from his impressive paychecks throughout his career. He earned $5 million for X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), $20 million each for X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) and The Wolverine (2013), and $7 million for X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), reportedly. Outside the superhero franchise, he reportedly earned $5 million for Les Misérables, $9 million for Real Steel, and $10 million for Australia. Apart from acting, Jackman is also a businessman. He owns a coffee company, Laughing Man Coffee. He also owned a production house, Seed Productions which was founded by the actor and his now ex-wife. Hugh Jackman also has an impressive real estate portfolio. One of his most notable properties is a two-story apartment in New York City's Chelsea neighborhood, which he purchased for $21 million in 2022 and previously shared with Deborra-Lee Furness. In Australia, he has bought, sold, and rented several properties across Sydney. Among his most talked-about acquisitions is a sleek, ultra-modern condo overlooking Bondi Beach, reportedly bought for $6 million in 2016, according to Architectural Digest. He also owns a 2.5-acre waterfront plot purchased for $3.5 million in 2015, along with a luxurious waterfront home in the Hamptons. There are reports about his other purchased properties in London and New York. Besides these, Jackman has reportedly also invested in companies including R.M. Williams, an Australian apparel brand, where he previously held a 5% stake.

Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness Finalize Divorce
Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness are officially single—legally speaking. The two reportedly finalized their divorce this week, just one month after Deborra-Lee filed for divorce. Neither Hugh nor Deborra-Lee have commented on the news, but People reports that online court records mark their divorce case status as 'Disposed,' which means the court is essentially done with the case. One month might seem speedy for a divorce, but the two were separated for about 2 years before the official filing, and People reports that the terms in Deborra-Lee's filings were uncontested. The exact terms of the divorce have not been reported. Previous reports claimed that the divorce was at an 'impasse' over the division of their reported $250 million estate. However, The Daily Mail cited a source who claimed that the two were both able to come to an agreement for a 'handsome spousal support payment.' The source also claimed that Deborra-Lee was 'pleased' with the settlement, adding, 'She got what she believed she deserved.' (What she deserved, according to The Daily Mail, is around $100 million.) It's also unclear whether or not the divorce settlement includes any kind of non-disclosure agreement. Celebrity divorces have included these clauses in the past (see: Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez), and it wouldn't surprise me if there was something in the terms that forbid Deborra-Lee from writing a tell-all memoir about her 27-year marriage to Hugh, especially as reports have claimed that she's been getting a lot of lucrative offers to do so. As for what's next for the exes, Hugh has already moved on. Hugh and Sutton Foster made their relationship public in January—nearly 3 years after the two starred in Broadway's The Music Man revival—and are reportedly still going strong. Meanwhile, Deborra-Lee is reportedly taking her time before re-entering the dating pool. 'She is just not interested in this right now,' a source told The Daily Mail. That's not to say she hasn't gotten any offers, the insider said she had 'turned down dates from some incredible guys' and was just waiting to settle her divorce before putting herself out there. Perhaps now that the divorce has been finalized she can do just that.

Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness finalise divorce
Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness have finalised their divorce. The former couple split in September 2023 after 27 years of marriage but Deborra, 69, only filed to officially end their marriage last month, and it has now been signed off by a judge. According to People magazine, online court records from New York's Suffolk County Supreme Court show that a judgment of divorce was filed on June 12, and later uploaded to the website on Monday (23.06.25), with the case not listed as 'Disposed'. When Deborra filed for divorce from the 56-year-old actor, she indicated the terms were uncontested and would only need a sign-off from a judge. It was revealed days after the filing that the pair had begun to separate their shared assets. According to property records reviewed by People, an LLC tied to Deborra paid $11.7 million to the LLC the couple had used when they acquired a Manhattan penthouse in New York 2022 for a reported $21 million. The home is now valued at around $23 million, with the Real Deal first to report the sale. Hugh and Deborra's former luxury apartment, located in a landmark starchitect-designed building in Chelsea, spans nearly 5,000 square feet across two floors, with an additional 3,700 square feet of outdoor space. Situated near the Hudson River, the area is known for its distinctive architecture and celebrity residents. The property is one of several high-value homes acquired by the pair during their nearly three-decade-long relationship. Hugh and Deborra reportedly still own residences in New York's West Village, the Hamptons, a waterfront condominium overlooking Bondi Beach in Sydney, as well as other properties in the US, UK and Australia. They met on the set of the Australian TV series Correlli in 1995 and married on 11 April 1996. The pair adopted their son, Oscar, now 24, in 2000, and their daughter, Ava, 19, in 2005. In September 2023, they confirmed their separation in a joint statement shared with People, saying: 'Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. 'Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.' In May, Deborra issued a separate statement discussing the emotional impact of the split. She said: 'My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal. It's a profound wound that cuts deep.' Deborra added: 'However, I believe in a higher power and that God or the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working for us. 'That belief has helped me navigate the breakdown of an almost three-decade marriage.' According to The Daily Mail, a source claimed Hugh was 'blindsided' by Deborra's comments and 'extremely disappointed', alleging there had been 'an unwritten understanding that she would not trash him to the press'.
