Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra camera tipped: Check out the expected launch date, specifications, price, and more

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra camera: Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra camera upgrade is making waves, as fresh leaks suggest a shift to a larger 200 MP Sony sensor, marking a strategic departure from Samsung's in‑house ISOCELL chips . This 1/1.1‑inch sensor promises dramatically improved low‑light capture and image clarity, outshining the already impressive 200 MP camera on the S25 Ultra. Outdated limitations in zoom and autonomy could fade as Samsung pairs this powerhouse lens with enhancements like upgraded laser autofocus, a smarter ProVisual Engine, and tighter optical systems. Slated for release in January 2026, this camera-first flagship could redefine smartphone photography standards. Stick around—we'll unpack why this upgrade could make every shot feel professional. Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra expected launch date January 2026 is the anticipated launch date for the Galaxy S26 series. But as of this moment, nothing is confirmed Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra camera details leaked On the flagship phone, Samsung is anticipated to include a new, larger 200-megapixel primary camera sensor. It is expected that the Galaxy S25 Ultra successor will come with 16GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 CPU. On Weibo, Chinese tipster Fixed Focus Digital stated that a 1/1.1-inch, 200-megapixel Sony CMOS sensor will be included in Samsung's next Galaxy S26 Ultra. This sensor is anticipated to be used by Samsung's primary camera. A significant improvement above the 1/1.3-inch sensor featured in the Galaxy S25 Ultra and earlier generations would be this rumoured 1/1.1-inch 200-megapixel sensor. When compared to the existing 200-megapixel cameras, the rumoured camera sensor might improve image quality. Additionally, it would signal a change in Samsung's approach to imaging. For the Galaxy Ultra devices, the South Korean company has so far utilized its proprietary 200-megapixel sensors. There are plans to enhance the Galaxy S26 Ultra's camera. A recent rumour indicated that a 200-megapixel ISOCELL HP2 camera sensor would be included with the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The phone might have a 50-megapixel periscope sensor with a 5x optical zoom, a 12-megapixel 3x telephoto sensor, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. The next-generation ProVisual Engine is anticipated to be included. Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra other expected specifications Design and Display The enormous 6.9-inch display size of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will likely retained. However, Samsung has decreased the bezel amount, increasing the screen-to-body ratio and providing a more engaging visual experience. Following disappointing results without the digitiser, Samsung decided to retain both functions, even though initial studies contemplated deleting the S Pen and its digitiser. Modifications to the design are subtle. Samsung has improved the back panel for a more streamlined appearance, but the general design will be the same as the previous model. A more integrated camera module that eliminates visual clutter will replace the phone's protruding "chip-like" camera rings. Cooling and Performance Samsung intends to incorporate Qualcomm's most recent Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset into the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Samsung has chosen not to release a separate Exynos model, hence the same processor will power all global variants. The TSMC-made 3nm Snapdragon chip will now serve as the primary CPU after a previously planned 2nm Samsung chip was abandoned. The gadget probably has an overclocked "For Galaxy" version of this processor for improved performance. To control heat, Samsung is anticipated to enhance the cooling system with a larger vapour chamber—roughly 1.2 times the size of the one seen in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. This enhancement could increase battery efficiency and attempts to ensure consistent performance even under demanding conditions. Storage and Memory Three storage capacities—256GB, 512GB, and 1TB—will probably be available for the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. Even on the lowest model, each variant will come with 16GB of RAM to allow users to multitask without sacrificing performance. These leaks give a clear idea of what to expect, even though the official debut is still a few months away. Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra expected price The price has not been revealed yet.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra could get a massive camera upgrade

Samsung's Galaxy S26 Ultra is supposedly coming in January, and according to a new rumor from China today, it might bring with it a massive camera upgrade. Namely, the main sensor is said to be Sony's upcoming 1/1.1" type with 200 MP resolution, the Japanese company's first with so many pixels. The Galaxy S25 Ultra uses the Samsung ISOCELL HP2, which has 200 MP resolution too, but is smaller at 1/1.3". The bigger size of the Sony sensor will let in more light, which should result in much-improved shots. The only asterisk here is that there's a chance Samsung will push the use of this Sony sensor to the Galaxy S27 Ultra in 2027. Hopefully the S26 Ultra will see it, but it doesn't seem to be a given according to the source of this rumor. Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Source (in Chinese)
