Meet world's highest-grossing actor, never gave a single hit, still has net worth of Rs..., beats Tom Cruise, Robert Downey Jr, Brad Pitt, he is...
How do you define stardom, by fame, awards, or fan following? Most often, it's by box office numbers. And by that metric, the world's highest-grossing actor isn't someone known for solo blockbusters or action franchises led alone. She doesn't even have a single solo hit to her name. Meet Scarlett Johansson Meet Scarlett Johansson, 40, the silent force behind some of the biggest box office juggernauts of our time. According to a report by Hindustan Times, Johansson has starred in 52 films across her career, mostly as a co-lead, with global earnings crossing $15 billion. That's more than Samuel L. Jackson, whose 66 films grossed $14.8 billion, and Robert Downey Jr., with 65 films making $14.3 billion. Scarlett's biggest hits lie within the Marvel Cinematic Universe While Scarlett's biggest hits lie within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, what's striking is this: not one of her films was a solo hit at the box office. Even her standalone MCU film, Black Widow, underperformed compared to ensemble projects. Ironically, it's the ensemble cast model that catapulted her to this record-smashing spot. Films like Avengers: Endgame, Infinity War, and others account for nearly $7 billion of her total. Adding to that is Jurassic World: Rebirth, which nudged her past Jackson and Downey in cumulative earnings. In the Indian context, only a handful have touched this realm. Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra Jonas have both appeared in films with over $1 billion in global earnings, thanks to international releases and crossover projects. Scarlett's rise is a reminder: in an era of franchises and shared universes, you don't need to carry a film alone to rule the box office. Sometimes, it's teamwork, timing, and a little Marvel magic that does the trick.

Scarlett Johansson dethrones Iron Man and Nick Fury to become the highest-grossing actor, thanks to Jurassic World: Rebirth
The Avengers may have disassembled on-screen, but they're still ruling where it counts — the global box office. In a blockbuster twist, Scarlett Johansson has now become the highest-grossing lead actor of all time (before inflation adjustment), toppling fellow Marvel heavyweights Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Downey Jr. from the top spots. Her latest film, Jurassic World: Rebirth , is the dino-sized boost that sent her flying past the competition, according to The Wrap. In Jurassic World: Rebirth, Johansson steps into Chris Pratt's shoes as the face of the franchise, portraying ex-military operative Zora Bennett. The film roared into theatres with a $318 million global debut in just six days, giving Johansson the final push to claim her record-setting title. According to box office data shared by The Numbers, Johansson's top-grossing films are a collection of Marvel's finest: Avengers: Endgame, Infinity War, The Avengers, Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, along with titles like Black Widow, The Jungle Book, Iron Man 2, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It also includes her animated movie, Sing. Who are the other Avengers on the highest-grossing list? But Johansson isn't the only Avenger making money moves. Of the six top-grossing lead actors, five have Marvel in common: Samuel L. Jackson ( Nick Fury ), Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), and Zoe Saldaña (Gamora). The only non-Marvel name in that elite group? Tom Hanks. About Jurassic World: Rebirth Jurassic World: Rebirth is a 2025 American sci-fi thriller directed by Gareth Edwards and written by David Koepp. A standalone sequel to Jurassic World Dominion, it's the seventh instalment in the Jurassic Park franchise. The film stars Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and Ed Skrein. According to Deadline, the movie opened to $322.5 million worldwide, including $147.8 million domestic, making it the second-biggest opening in franchise history after 2015's Jurassic World.

Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer reveals Galactus, Silver Surfer and a tragic twist — is this Marvel's darkest story yet?
AP The Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer reveals The Thing's new look, a female Silver Surfer with a metallic voice, and teases Galactus. The Marvel Phase Six film sets up Avengers: Doomsday with key events like Franklin Richards' birth and Reed Richards' powers. Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer reveals The Thing's rock beard and Silver Surfer's metallic voice in major MCU reveal- Marvel Studios has just dropped a fresh trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps , offering fans a much deeper look at the film that officially kicks off Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). From The Thing sporting a rocky beard to the eerie metallic voice of the Silver Surfer, the new footage raises several questions — and leaves some major reveals just out of reach. The trailer, packed with new scenes, hints at a longer timeline than fans may have expected. We see Susan Storm before and after giving birth to Franklin Richards, suggesting the events of The Fantastic Four: First Steps span several months. While fans get exciting glimpses of Galactus and the core team in action, the most surprising details are hidden in the smaller moments — like Ben Grimm's beard and the Silver Surfer's voice. Marvel fans get their first full look at Ralph Ineson as Galactus in Fantastic Four: First Steps , and he's as massive and menacing as fans had hoped. Towering over Earth in a comic-accurate design, his presence signals a true cosmic-level threat that could rival even Infinity War . The trailer also introduces Julia Garner's gender-swapped Silver Surfer, who delivers the spine-chilling line: 'Your planet has been marked for death.' The metallic tone of her voice and her sleek, otherworldly design are already sparking buzz across social media. Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm), and Ebon Moss‑Bachrach (Ben Grimm) appear as a seasoned Fantastic Four, already a tight-knit unit. Set against a vibrant 1960s retro-futuristic backdrop, the trailer hints at major emotional stakes—especially when Sue subtly reveals they're expecting a baby. This turns the looming apocalypse into something deeply personal. Forget the light-hearted Marvel formula—this trailer leans into tragedy and tension. The tone feels weighty and somber, reminiscent of the Galactus Trilogy from the comics, and echoes the emotional depth of Infinity War . It's a bold shift that promises more heartbreak and sacrifice than typical MCU fare. We see glimpses of each hero's abilities: Mr. Fantastic's stretchy limbs, Sue Storm's elegant force fields, Johnny blazing through the sky, and the Thing's rocky form. But it's Ben Grimm's emotional depth—especially in his eyes—that stands out, hinting at a more humanized portrayal of the team's powerhouse. Longtime fans will love the nods to Marvel lore: the sleek Fantasticar, the iconic Baxter Building, the Marvel‑1 rocket, and even H.E.R.B.I.E. the robot. The setting, designs, and soundtrack scream classic sci-fi with a fresh MCU twist. One of the most unexpected visuals in the new Fantastic Four trailer is The Thing — aka Ben Grimm — sporting a rocky beard. Until now, we've always seen the character clean-shaven in previous adaptations. The sudden appearance of facial "rock hair" raises plenty of questions: can The Thing actually grow a beard? If so, how? And why would he wait to grow it out now? Given that we see Human Torch (Johnny Storm) carrying The Thing mid-air — beard and all — it suggests this moment comes later in the movie, possibly in the third act. This supports fan theories that the movie spans a longer period rather than just a few chaotic days. Some viewers have even speculated whether this means there's a time jump midway through the film. The details are vague, but this unusual character detail has already started trending across fan forums and social media. The trailer also gives us a longer look — and listen — at the Silver Surfer. And yes, her voice. The Surfer is now portrayed with a female voice, and her lines have a chilling, metallic echo that perfectly suits her role as the harbinger of Galactus. While Marvel hasn't officially revealed the actress voicing the character, speculation is rampant online, with some fans guessing names like Gugu Mbatha-Raw or Tilda Swinton. The Surfer's line in the trailer—delivered with calm dread—announces Galactus' imminent arrival. This suggests she plays a key part in the final act, possibly arriving just before Earth faces its greatest threat yet. Marvel's decision to gender-flip the character has received mixed reactions, but most fans are intrigued by the fresh approach. We see more of Galactus in this trailer than before, but not enough to satisfy die-hard fans. His full face still hasn't been shown. We catch a glimpse of his massive chest and see him stomping around an alternate-history version of New York City, but his full design remains under wraps. This follows a familiar Marvel Studios playbook — teasing the villain while saving the big reveal for the theater. Some shots also appear to show Reed Richards (played by Pedro Pascal) sticking something into Galactus' leg, though the context isn't clear yet. It's also worth noting that Galactus seems to "awaken" during the trailer, meaning he may not be the immediate threat at the beginning of the film. Marvel seems to be holding this reveal back for a more dramatic moment. Pedro Pascal's version of Reed Richards brings something new to the table — including a moustache that has already stirred online debate. In the trailer, he stretches both his arms and legs, landing on a platform and attacking Galactus' leg. While it's not the most extensive look at his powers, it's enough to suggest he's in control of them and uses them strategically. Pascal's portrayal seems more grounded compared to past versions, focusing on leadership and problem-solving rather than flashy stunts. That said, fans are still waiting to see how far Marvel is willing to go with his elasticity powers. For now, the trailer only gives a tease. One of the biggest questions still hanging over the movie is whether Doctor Doom will show up. Director Matt Shakman recently addressed this in an interview but gave an awkwardly phrased answer that didn't entirely rule it out. As of now, there is no official confirmation that Robert Downey Jr. will appear as Doctor Doom in The Fantastic Four: First Steps . However, given Marvel's track record of surprises, fans aren't convinced we've seen the last of him. What we do know is that the movie will directly set up Avengers: Doomsday , which hits theaters in December 2026. If Doom isn't in First Steps , we may see him make his debut in Doomsday , possibly as a post-credits reveal or key antagonist. The inclusion of Sue Storm's pregnancy — and scenes showing her both before and after giving birth — is a strong hint that The Fantastic Four: First Steps unfolds over a long stretch of time. That's unusual for Marvel films, which often focus on events spanning days or weeks. The birth of Franklin Richards may also signal a larger role for the Richards family going forward. In the comics, Franklin is a powerful mutant with reality-warping powers. Introducing him early could be Marvel's way of laying the groundwork for future storylines that connect to the X-Men and multiverse arcs. A cosmic-level showdown that could determine Earth's fate, with Galactus poised to unleash destruction unless the team finds a way to stop him—possibly with a nod to the Ultimate Nullifier . that could determine Earth's fate, with Galactus poised to unleash destruction unless the team finds a way to stop him—possibly with a nod to the . A darker, more emotional Marvel story that explores family, fear, and sacrifice on a deeply human level. that explores family, fear, and sacrifice on a deeply human level. Strong multiverse connections, setting the stage for Avengers: Doomsday and bigger crossover events to come. Q1: What's new about The Thing in The Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer? He now has a rock beard, teasing a major timeline shift in the story. Q2: Who is the Silver Surfer in The Fantastic Four: First Steps? The Silver Surfer is female and speaks with a metallic voice in the latest trailer.

Red Skull Actor Didn't Know He Was in an AVENGERS Movie Until the Day of Shooting — GeekTyrant
When it comes to keeping secrets, Marvel Studios isn't messing around. Just ask Ross Marquand, the actor who stepped in to play Red Skull in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. Apparently, even he didn't know he was in an Avengers movie until he was already on set. Marquand revealed during a panel at Awesome Con 2025: 'I didn't know what movie I was going to work on. They didn't tell me. They quite literally said it was a voice-matching job that may entail voice-matching this character that Hugo [Weaving] played, but they didn't even say that by name.' You'd think Marvel would at least give an actor they cast a little info on the project they'd been cast in. But nope, Marvel played it so close to the vest that even when Marquand arrived, he still wasn't clued in. 'It wasn't until I got to the set that they made me shave and put the [motion capture] dots on. I'm looking around, there's like a 150 people waiting for me. 'I'm like, 'This is not a regular voiceover job. What is going on?' That's when the makeup artist leaned over, and he said, 'Do you know what you're working on? This is the new Avengers movie.' I'm like, 'Oh, God.' I almost passed out.' That's one way to find out you've landed a role in one of the biggest franchises on the planet. Marquand, best known at the time for The Walking Dead, stepped in for Hugo Weaving, who famously said back in 2012, 'I think I've done my dash with that sort of film.' Marvel needed someone to replicate Weaving's voice for Red Skull's unexpected return as the ghostly gatekeeper of the Soul Stone, and Marquand delivered. He first appeared guiding Thanos and Gamora on Vormir, then reappeared in Endgame for a soul-swapping encore with Hawkeye and Black Widow. Marquand's Marvel contributions haven't stopped there. He's been the go-to guy for voice-matching since. He voiced Infinity Ultron in What If…? with a pitch-perfect spin on James Spader's Ultron and more recently brought Professor X to life in X-Men '97, channeling Cedric Smith. As for whether he'll show up again in Avengers: Doomsday or Secret Wars, well... knowing Marvel, he probably won't find out until someone starts gluing dots to his face again. Via ComicBook

Thor Rumor Has Me Nervous About Chris Hemsworth's Return In Avengers: Doomsday
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Hot on the heels of the release date of Avengers: Doomsday being marked for December 2026, another big rumor is making the rounds about the big movie coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This time the chatter is all about Chris Hemsworth's Thor, and what the Russos have planned for one of the biggest OG actors in the Disney-owned franchise. If readers were psyched for the upcoming Marvel movie to hit theaters, this latest rumor from SuperHeroHype might give them pause. We've heard a lot of chatter about heroes who will fall when taking on Robert Downey Jr's Doctor Doom, and it looks like the God of Thunder might take a big fall when facing the supervillain. Chris Hemsworth was one of the few OG Avengers who escaped the Infinity War and Endgame unscathed, as we saw Black Widow and Iron Man die, and Captain America become far too old to keep his mantle. It's being rumored now that Marvel Studios has plans to give Thor a big send-off, and that it will happen either in Doomsday or Secret Wars. While there are no specifics as to how this will happen, one has to assume that death is on the table. Doctor Doom killing off Thor would be a major win for the villain, and an easy way for the Russos to pull on the heartstrings of longtime Marvel fans. There is no confirmation that this will happen, though it doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility, given how the last major Avengers movies went. The good news about Thor potentially dying in Avengers: Doomsday or Secret Wars is that no one in the Marvel universe can stay dead forever. We could always see Chris Hemsworth's Thor return in the future through some weird resurrection twist, so if he's willing to do more movies, Thor can always live on. More On Thor A Case For Why The First Thor Movie Is Still The Best Thor Movie Even if Thor is dead, there's always a chance that Marvel could opt to do a movie set in Valhalla. The Viking afterlife was seen in Thor: Love And Thunder, and could very well be the backdrop for a future adventure in the franchise. Wouldn't it be cool to see him back in the saddle and able to team up with Jane, Heimdall, Odin, and even Loki for another adventure? Let's also remember another warrior who died in battle who might be in Valhalla: Tony Stark. Imagine if, in some way, Thor can battle his way back from the afterlife with Iron Man and take down Doctor Doom together. That said, I'm just trying to make people feel better about the very realistic scenario of Thor possibly being killed off; we may not see Chris Hemsworth do another Marvel movie after he finally hangs up the hammer. It'll be quite a bit of time before we see what happens in Avengers: Doomsday. Until then, expect to see a lot more rumors about who may be involved and what may happen, and hopefully, we can avoid some leaks that spoil the movie for everyone.
