Eagles RB Saquon Barkley wins 'Best NFL Player' award at 2025 ESPYS
Saquon Barkley is having a year to remember. The running back cleaned up during the 2024 NFL season, receiving just about every award or honor a player could possibly ask for. He is a Super Bowl champion, an All-Pro, a Pro Bowler, MVP finalist, the Offensive Player of the Year and even the Madden NFL 26 cover athlete. On July 16, Barkley learned that he would be making room for one more thing on the mantel – the ESPYS' "Best NFL Player" award. Barkley received the award over fellow nominees Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson and Patrick Surtain II. It's a continued run of success for the Eagles' running back, dating back to a big decision he made last offseason. Barkley famously traded in New York Giants' blue for Philadelphia Eagles' green. This offseason, Barkley was rewarded for his work in the City of Brotherly Love, inking a two-year, $41.2 million extension to remain with the Birds. Barkley rushed for a record 2,504 yards over the regular season and postseason and led the way for the Super Bowl 59 champions, who crushed the Kansas City Chiefs in the big game. It will be hard to top Barkley's 2024 season. While the awards keep rolling in, the Eagles' star is tasked with giving an encore performance as the 2025 season nears. For now, there is still a little time to bask in the glory before it's back to work.

One of the most memorable plays in NFL history will also grace the cover of Madden NFL 26, releasing early next month. Barkley earned nominations in three categories: Best Athlete (Men's), Best NFL Player, and Best Play. The Philadelphia Eagles as unit was nominated for Best Team, competing against the NHL's Florida Panthers, MLB's Los Angeles Dodgers, WNBA's New York Liberty, college football's Ohio State Buckeyes, the NBA's Oklahoma City Thunder, NCAA women's lacrosse's North Carolina Tar Heels, the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team, and the UConn women's basketball team. The last Eagles player to win an ESPY award was QB Nick Foles, who won Best Championship Performance in 2018 for his heroics in Super Bowl LII. 'Madden 26' predicts Broncos will beat Bengals, start season 4-0
EA Sports has been rolling out "deep dives" for their upcoming Madden NFL 26 video game, and the latest preview features a promising prediction for the Denver Broncos. In a preview of the game's franchise mode, we get a sneak peek of the game's "halftime report" and a weekly recap show featuring Scott Hanson. The preview shows a final score between the Broncos and Cincinnati Bengals following a 31-21 win for Denver. With the win, the Broncos improved to 4-0 in the video game while the Bengals dropped to 3-1. Denver is scheduled to host Cincinnati on Monday Night Football in Week 4 this fall. That game will be nationally televised on ABC on Monday, Sept. 29. You can watch the segment about the new Hanson segments beginning at 4:07: Broncos tight end Adam Trautman is shown making a big catch and run at the 4:23 mark. A mini scoreboard shows Nix went 17-of-23 passing for 233 yards with two touchdowns in a 10-point victory over the Bengals in primetime. Getting off to a 4-0 start as EA Sports predicts would be huge for Denver because the Broncos are set to travel to Pennsylvania for a tough road game against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 5 (view the full schedule). Is Madden NFL 26 cross-platform?
Just like you can always count on there being a new Call of Duty game every year, Madden is a series that never misses a yearly installment. This is easily the premier sports game on the market, with Madden NFL 26 being the first one to leave behind the PS4 and Xbox One generation systems. Even though the last game straddled console generations, it still was a cross-platform game, so one would hope that Madden NFL 26 would keep this fantastic feature going. Of course, you can never be too sure so I'm calling a timeout on the play to tell you everything you need to know about Madden NFL 26 cross-platform support. Does Madden NFL 26 have cross-platform support? According to EA, Madden NFL 26 doesn't have full cross-platform support, but almost. This year, Madden NFL 26 will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC. Cross-platform support will be available between PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, but not the Nintendo Switch 2. Sorry, Nintendo fans, but you will only be able to matchmake with other Switch 2 players. As far as what modes are available for crossplay, you will be able to go online in the Head-to-Head, Franchise, Madden Ultimate Team, Superstar KO, and Superstar Showdown modes. One feature of note that will not have crossplay is the Madden Ultimate Team Auction House. You can only spend your Coins on items put up by players on your specific platform. Recommended Videos As always, you can opt to turn crossplay on or off in the settings if you would rather limit your matchmaking pool to just your console. Besides crossplay, Madden NFL 26 also includes cross-progression so you can bring your Superstar avatar and purchases between platforms. Again, this has the same restrictions as crossplay, meaning Switch 2 players will be left out. Still, being able to transfer your Superstar and gear between platforms is a welcome feature, even if the Switch 2 is left out.
