Visa controversy erupts: Jasmine Crockett presses how Melania Trump got elite US visa
Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett spoke at a government hearing. She asked how Melania Trump got a special visa in 2001 called the EB-1 or 'Einstein visa.' This visa is usually for people who have done something really amazing—like winning a Nobel Prize, being in the Olympics, or being a famous scientist, as per the report by Newsweek. Crockett said Melania was a model, but not as famous as big names like Tyra Banks or Naomi Campbell. She said Melania didn't have the kind of huge awards or career success that usually earns someone an EB-1 visa. Crockett joked, "It doesn't take an Einstein to see that the math ain't mathin' here." Crockett also called out Republicans for being tough on other immigrants but staying silent on Trump's own family. She pointed out that Trump's administration revoked visas for people based on their social media posts and ran ICE raids across the country. She mentioned Trump's executive order on June 4, which targeted student visas, especially for Chinese students, as stated by the Newsweek report. Later in June, Trump also banned or restricted visas from 19 countries, including full bans from 12. The Trump administration made visa rules stricter, like checking people's social media posts more carefully. Crockett said this all shows a double standard—tough rules for regular people but easy for Trump's circle. Crockett replied, 'You sure are right, I couldn't have done it', accoridng to the report by Newsweek. Outspoken Dem Rep. Jasmine Crockett slammed for ‘evil' comments about Melania Trump's modeling career, US citizenship
Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) has been slammed as 'evil' and a 'disgrace' for insulting Melania Trump's modeling career and marriage during a heated House hearing — even suggesting there was no way the first lady could have earned a so-called 'Einstein visa.' The outspoken lefty pol took a swipe at President Trump's wife and ridiculed her US citizenship as lawmakers argued over restoring the visa process during Wednesday's House Judiciary Committee hearing. After attacking the Trump administration's immigration tactics, Crockett quickly made things personal. 3 Dem Rep. Jasmine Crockett took aim at Melania Trump during a heated House hearing. 'Since we're talking about integrity, I'm confused as to why my Republican colleagues aren't talking about the lack of integrity when it comes to the president's family's visas,' she griped. 'Melania, the first lady — a model, and when I say model, I'm not talking Tyra Banks, Cindy Crawford or Naomi Campbell-level — applied for and was given an EB-1 visa,' she said cruelly. Melania moved to the US on an EB-1 visa — dubbed the 'Einstein visa' — as a model in the 1990s before eventually becoming a US citizen in 2006 after marrying Trump. Crockett, who is notorious for going viral during committee hearings with her incendiary rhetoric, added insult to injury by explaining the Einstein visa process. 3 Melania moved to the US on an EB-1 visa — dubbed the 'Einstein visa' — as a model in the 1990s. Getty Images 'You're supposed to have some sort of significant achievement, like being awarded a Nobel Peace Prize or a Pulitzer, being an Olympic medalist, or having other sustained extraordinary abilities and success in sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics,' she said. 'Last time I checked the first lady had none of those accolades under her belt.' 'It doesn't take an Einstein to see that the math ain't mathin' here,' she added. 3 Crockett has been called 'evil' and a 'disgrace' for her comments about the first lady. Getty Images The backlash against her was swift with many on social media blasting the Texas lawmaker as being 'jealous.' 'Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) disgracefully attacked Melania Trump on Wednesday for her modeling career and visa. Crockett said Melania wasn't on the same level as other models and didn't have the accolades to warrant an Einstein visa. Crockett is jealous,' one user wrote on X. 'Can Jasmine Crockett speak 5 Languages like Melania? NO! so she can just close her mouth,' another raged. One person chimed in, saying: 'How dare her compare Melania to those models? Melania has a lot more class in her little finger than Jasmine Crockett has in her whole body!'

Elden Ring movie director Alex Garland proves he's the perfect pick for the adaptation after schooling an interviewer on one of the game's toughest bosses
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Elden Ring movie director Alex Garland once again proves his Tarnished credentials as he begins his seventh playthrough – and starts dishing out tips mid-interview on one of the game's toughest bosses. When asked by IGN whether he's had trouble beating any bosses in The Lands Between, the interviewer namechecked Starscourge Radahn – an infamous roadblock before players can reach the Eternal City of Nekron – as a particularly troublesome foe. Garland, though, didn't agree: "I thought Radahn was quite easy," the director said, spoken like a man who didn't have to do with pre-nerf Radahn. "As long as you sort of activated the people who can assist you in that fight, they get on with that fight… they take off half his [HP] and you finish him off. It's all about activating those little summon signs dotted around." Garland added, "No, it's Melania who's the tough one." Hardy players will know all-too-well about the grueling two-phase fight, first in her Blade of Miquella form and against the Goddess of Rot. The director confirmed once more that he's now on his seventh playthrough of Elden Ring, with plenty of flasks to heal and – most important – a "cool sword." On the method behind his madness, Garland explained, "I just throw myself at them again and again. That's the technique that I learned with Dark Souls; it's not that you get better, it's more like monkeys and typewriters. You just keep doing it and eventually, one day, they're dead." The currently undated Elden Ring movie is set to be written and directed by Garland, with George R.R. Martin serving as producer (and already giving the helmer the thumbs up). Heartstopper actor Kit Connor has been linked to a lead role, but no casting has yet been officially announced. Lip reader reveals Trump's three-word question to Melania
A lip reader has spilled the beans on a private exchange between Donald Trump and Melania during Saturday's military parade, shedding light on their seldom-seen personal dynamic. Despite being rarely spotted together in public during Trump's second term, the couple enjoyed some quality time last week, first at the opening night of 'Les Misérables' at the Kennedy Center and then presenting a united front at a military parade in Washington DC. Trump had hyped up the parade, which marked the US Army's 250th anniversary and coincidentally fell on his 79th birthday, as a "big day". However, images from the event showed sparse crowds, hinting at a disappointing turnout. The president was notably brief in his address to the crowd, speaking for just eight minutes instead of the planned 15. Seated between Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Melania, Trump spent much of the parade chatting with Hegseth but was also seen engaging with his wife, reports the Mirror US. In a tender moment caught by the cameras, Trump showed his caring side as he checked in on Melania's comfort, according to lip reading expert Nicola Hickling. "Are you cold?" Trump enquired of Melania towards the parade's end, Nicola revealed to the Daily Mail. "No, I'm okay," was Melania's heartwarming response. Her response was acknowledged by Trump with a subtle nod. At the event, Melania seemed to be taking on a more assertive role with her husband, as noted by a body language expert who observed the couple engaging in some "very unusual" public displays of affection. "Melania's body language was something of a small revelation at the parade on the weekend," commented Judi James, a body language expert, to The Irish Star. "Not only was she displaying some subtle signals of taking a more assertive role with her husband but there was also a very unusual and eye-catching PDA for him too. "The hand on his thigh was a gesture of intimacy and control that was performed at least twice as they sat watching the parade," Judi elaborated. She suggested that the gesture could have been a form of comfort for her husband. "It might have been his birthday treat or maybe a gesture of consolation that his birthday bash didn't quite live up to expectations in terms of crowd numbers and entertainment," Judi speculated. "But it was a fond-looking gesture that was reciprocated later by Trump, who was seen placing a hand onto his wife's lap, too."

Melania Trump 'protects' Donald with 'chess move' in awkward public appearance
President Donald Trump and wife Melania both appeared at a military parade in Washington DC last week, and the First Lady appeared 'protective' of her husband with one gesture First Lady Melania Trump appeared to be 'protecting' Donald Trump with a calculated gesture during a recent public appearance. The couple took to the stage to watch a rare military parade in Washington DC on Saturday (June 14), which coincided with the president's 79th birthday celebrations. Melania and Donald were front and centre as a rendition of 'Happy Birthday' was played in honour of the US Army's 250th anniversary. Some onlookers have noticed the president appeared to be keeping eerily still, while others have spotted what they claim is a clever move by the First Lady to guard her spouse. Footage of the event was posted to the social media platform X, showing the First Lady positioning herself in front of her husband onstage. The user who uploaded the footage asked: "Why did he let Melania stand in front of him? They sang happy birthday, he didn't move. He didn't move until they brought out the Flag." While some found this behaviour odd, there were those who saw it as Melania exerting her influence as First Lady. A commenter suggested: "It's a chess move – The Queen protects her King." Another X user wrote: "I just realised that he said the Army Knights. Knights like in chess?" A third added: "Queen protects the King." Another agreed: "It's a chess move... when the queen is in front of the king in chess it means game over." It comes following a wave of so-called 'No Kings' protests against Trump, with the movement gaining momentum nationwide in recent weeks. Tensions have been escalating across the States since riots broke out on the streets of Los Angeles, with Trump deploying the National Guard to quash demonstrations protesting his immigration policies. California Governor Gavin Newsom and Vice President Kamala Harris both decried the use of about 4,000 troops to quell violence in the California city. However, Trump has stood firm in his decision to send Guardsmen onto the streets. Posting to Truth Social, he said: "Looking really bad in L.A. BRING IN THE TROOPS!!!" Shortly after, he doubled down on his comment, adding: "ARREST THE PEOPLE IN FACE MASKS, NOW!" Key figures among the Democrats and political pundits have voiced their concern over Trump's remarks. Trump's former election rival Harris released a statement labelling the move a "dangerous escalation". Governor Newsom agreed, calling the president a "stone cold liar" and accusing him of exacerbating the unrest. He said at the time: "Donald Trump is inflaming these conditions. This is Donald. Trump's problem right now. And if he can't solve it, we will."
