Picture: Signing number 10 for Orlando Pirates traveling to SA!

Orlando Pirates have already signed nine players ahead of the pre-season but could number 10 be incoming? Pirates will fly to Spain for a third time in a row and will have plenty of new faces aboard. On Tuesday they announced the signing of former Mamelodi Sundowns star Sipho Mbule. The playmaker joins Pirates as free agent after being released by the Brazilians. The eight others being Kabelo Kgositsile, Masindi Nemtajela, Nkosikhona Ndaba, Tshepo Mashiloane, Sihle Nduli, Tshepang Moremi , Sinoxolo Kwayiba and Yanela Mbuthuma. The Sea Robbers are set to begin their pre-season on the 7th of July and all of those players are expected to be there. While those players are signed and sealed Buccaneers, there is, however, reportedly an additional face who will join them. According to African football journalist Micky Jnr, Pirates are set to seal the deal for Malian star Abdoulaye Mariko! '🚨 Orlando Pirates are set to sign highly rated Djoliba AC midfielder Abdoulaye Mariko (20). 🇲🇱⚫⚪ The Malian star, who played 7 CAF Champions League games last season, was named Best Evolutionary Player at the recent Mali Football Awards. He departs for South Africa today. Big talent!' Wrote Micky Jnr on his official Instagram account. Later on, Micky subsequently provided an update of Mariko at the airport, ready to fly out to South Africa to complete the deal. If he does, he will be signing number TEN for Pirates. 'Abdoulaye Mariko spotted at the airport as he heads to South Africa to complete his move to Orlando Pirates.' Wrote Micky additionally. At just 20, there certainly seems to be bags of potential for Mariko and he could maximise it at Pirates should he sign. Buccaneers would you welcome this signing? REVEALED: Kaizer Chiefs' ‘secret meeting' for striker target!

Kaizer Chiefs have made it no secret that they're trying to sign a prolific striker ahead of next season. Chiefs' goal scoring woes have been well documented over the past three seasons and they hope to fix that. There have been quite a few attackers linked with Chiefs going into the next season. This as a sign of what they're trying to fix in the final third. Amakhosi have seen the likes of Fiston Mayele, Etiosa Ighodaro, Robert Polievka mentioned as strikers. In the wingers department Oswin Appollis, Elias Mokwana, Mihlali Mayambela and Keletso Makgalwa have been touted. It was rumoured, however, that coach Nasreddine Nabi had travelled to Egypt to try and convince Mayele to join. This after he had reportedly convinced Feisal Salum to sign for Chiefs ahead of the new season. During that trip to Tanzania the Tunisian-born mentor was seen attending game featuring Simba SC and Sinigida. Now according to Micky Jnr, following that game, he attended a secret meeting to sign a striker. That being Steven Dese Mukwala of Simba. '𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐃! When you saw Nabi at the KMC Complex, the player he was watching in Simba v Singida's game was Steven Dese Mukwala. Kaizer Chiefs' head of scouting and recruitment Thembela Maliwa and Nabi's assistant Cedric Kaze had a '𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠' with Steven Mukwala's agent when they were in Tanzania for a possible move. The meeting took place in a hotel in Dar es Salaam. Chiefs have strong interest in the Ugandan striker and ready to make an offer to sign him. However, Simba's President Mo Dewji has asked the club not to engage in any transfer negotiations for Mukwala until the end of the season in Tanzania. 12 goals. 3 assists. 1049 minutes played. Stats for Mukwala so far. One player to keep eyes on in the transfer market when the season ends in Tanzania.' Kaizer Chiefs set to seal first signing of the window!

Kaizer Chiefs are looking to undergo a squad rebuild ahead of the next season, after a disappointing previous campaign. Although they won the Nedbank Cup, Chiefs still failed to finish the season in the top eight positions. This made it their second time in a row, under a second coach that they failed to qualify for the MTN8. With that, Chiefs are expected to make some big and telling changes to their playing personnel. This in an effort to ensure that they don't find themselves in a similar situation again next season. It is no secret that they are looking to bolster their attack going into next season. But that is just one department, as they are also intent on adding strength and depth to their defence. One position that is reportedly earmarked for that is the left-back berth. As it stands, Chiefs have Bradley Cross, Happy Mashiane, Edmilson Dove and Bongani Sam playing there. Sam did not play a single minute for Chiefs since joining from arch rivals Orlando Pirates last season. He is rumoured to be on his way out. Mashiane has continued to be a bit part player and also could leave. There is also uncertainty over the future of Dove, with his deal up at the end of the month. So with possibly three left-backs on the way out, at least two new ones would be needed. Earlier in the week, this publication reported that Chiefs were in negotiations to sign Aphiwe Baliti from SuperSport United. Now according to Micky Jnr, the club are set to wrap that deal up in time for him to make it to their preseason tour to the Netherlands. 'Aphiwe Baliti will be part of Kaizer Chiefs' squad to the Netherlands for pre-season. The agent has confirmed that talks are close to being finalized. 23-year-old Defender (LB) SuperSport United Played 18 games in the 2024/25 season' posted Micky Jnr on his official 'X' account. Chiefs fans, would you be excited for Baliti to be your first signing of the transfer window? Let us know by clicking on the comment tab. Or by emailing info@ or sending a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1.
