Rashod Bateman set to go on a 'revenge tour' after signing new deal

Rashod Bateman trusted the process, and the former Minnesota All-American has found his groove with the Ravens, signing a multi-year contract extension for the second consecutive off-season. After producing the best season of his career, Rashod Bateman has agreed to a 3-year, $36.75 million contract extension with the Baltimore Ravens. The move comes nearly a year after the Ravens signed Bateman to a three-year contract extension eight days before the deadline for exercising his 5th-year option. Following the deal and an exciting OTA session, Bateman told Morgan Adsit that next season will be a "revenge season" after time lost to injury. A 2021 first-round pick, Bateman missed most of his second season after having foot surgery. He was still dealing with the effects in 2023 after finishing with 56 targets, the fourth-most on the team behind Zay Flowers, Odell Beckham Jr., and Mark Andrews. Advertisement The new contract comes after Baltimore turned down a trade offer from the Dallas Cowboys, who eventually acquired George Pickens from the Steelers. Overall, it was his most impactful regular season since getting drafted by Baltimore with career highs in receiving yards (756) and touchdowns (nine) on the second-highest catch total of his career (45) across 17 games. Bateman was signed through the 2026 season. Bateman was the only player in the NFL last season to average at least 16 yards per reception and catch nine or more touchdowns. NFC Team Appears To Be Recruiting Odell Beckham Jr.

NFC Team Appears To Be Recruiting Odell Beckham Jr. originally appeared on The Spun. It's hard to believe its been 10 years since Odell Beckham Jr. got off to one of the most dominant starts we've ever seen from a receiver in the NFL. Advertisement Since then it's been a mixed bag of injuries and occasional off-field drama, but he still proved himself to be a key contributor to a Super Bowl champion as a member of the Los Angeles Rams. Now after four different stints in four seasons, a member of one of his former teams is calling for the three-time Pro Bowler to come back. Following Malik Nabers' public call for the Giants to have one last ride with OBJ in the Big Apple, rookie EDGE rusher Abdul Carter joined in with his thoughts on a potential Odell reunion. Posting to his Instagram story: "It's time." Earlier this week Beckham shared a photo of him and his son sitting outside of MetLife Stadium. Advertisement "Mannn yo daddy did some Krazy shxt here 😭😭… we changed the game n inspired a generation who came behind us," the former No. 12 pick said. "We still got more to do… I'm loving every second I get wit u n can't wait to see what u do in this world…. Analyst Calls Giants 'Best Fit' To Sign 'Spunky' Hero Odell Beckham Jr.

Analyst Calls Giants 'Best Fit' To Sign 'Spunky' Hero Odell Beckham Jr. originally appeared on Athlon Sports. During the dead period of an NFL offseason, rumors run rampant about aging free agents signing with specific teams that excite bored fans around the country. Advertisement The latest rumor centering around the New York Giants is no different. CBS Sports' Cody Benjamin believes New York is one of the best fits for a reunion with three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. "Besides Beckham and a handful of current Giants teasing the possibility of a reunion tour, this actually makes some sense," Benjamin wrote. "OBJ is still a fan favorite among contingents of Giants faithful for the spunky playmaking that made him an NFL phenom at the start of his career. "And some added receiver depth couldn't hurt behind returning starters Nabers and Darius Slayton." In the prime of his career, Beckham was one of the best receivers in the league. He recorded 390 catches for 5,476 yards and 44 touchdowns in five seasons with Big Blue. Advertisement However, after a frustrating finish to the 2018 season, Beckham was traded to the Cleveland Browns. He was never the same following that trade. Ineffective play and a rash of injuries derailed what was once considered a Hall-of-Fame career for the former LSU product. At 32 years old, there's a belief around the league that OBJ may have played his last game. That is where a potential reunion with New York could come into play. Beckham is a free agent, hoping to get one last chance to show he can still play at a high level. Why not get a chance on the team for which he was once a superstar? Do you do it just because he's a "fan favorite'' who used to be "spunky''? Advertisement New York might need to answer that question, one way or another, as training camp approaches. Mandatory Credit: Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports New York Giants fans have been buzzing with excitement over the last week following some intriguing comments from former superstar Odell Beckham Jr. During an appearance on a panel at Fanatics Fest, Beckham was asked if he would re-sign with the Giants this offseason. His simple response, 'I got you,' went viral on social media, leading fans to believe a reunion was on the horizon. Advertisement However, one insider believes such a reunion is unlikely to take place. Giants reportedly 'unlikely' to sign Odell Beckham Jr. ESPN's Giants insider Jordan Raanan recently answered some questions about the team on his podcast, 'Breaking Big Blue,' and gave some insight on the Giants' interest in reuniting with Beckham. Credit: Danielle Parhizkaran / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images 'Odell Beckham Jr. made some comments at Fanatics Fest about maybe coming back to the Giants. I talked to people, there's nothing brewing there,' Raanan said. 'It's unlikely to happen. I would not expect Odell Beckham Jr. to be a Giant again. 'Maybe somewhere along the line, he retires a one-day contract to retire a Giant… I don't see, based on talking to people, that Odell Beckham coming back to the Giants this year is something that's realistic and makes a ton of sense.' Advertisement Not only were Giants fans, but even some Giants players were engaged in the initial rumors surrounding Beckham. Several stars, such as Malik Nabers, Brian Burns, and rookie Abdul Carter, made comments on social media expressing their interest in Beckham donning the Blue and Red once more. But ultimately, it doesn't seem like Beckham will be back with Big Blue in 2025. What could Beckham provide in 2025? In 2024, Beckham was largely ineffective. He appeared in nine games with the Miami Dolphins, making zero starts and totaling only 55 yards on nine receptions. Credit: Sam Navarro-Imagn Images If the Giants were to sign Beckham this summer, he would be unlikely to play a major role in the offense and could even be viewed as just a training camp body. Advertisement Adding depth is a crucial step in the summer. As training camp and preseason intensify, the Giants will want to be vigilant in adding more talent to their roster. Perhaps Beckham could become more of an option down the line. Related Headlines

Minnesota Vikings land Madden cover athlete and All-Pro in 2014 NFL re-draft

The NFL Draft remains the second-biggest event in the NFL calendar behind the Super Bowl. Like it or not, it also remains one of the biggest things that fans and media enjoy going back and analyzing to see "what could have been." Pro Football Focus has done a good job this offseason by starting a re-draft series that we have been tracking here on Bucs Wire. In their latest draft, they looked back on, it just so happens to be one of the more impactful ones in recent memory for the Minnesota Vikings franchise: The 2014 NFL Draft. The draft allowed for the team to get both Anthony Barr and Teddy Bridgewater in the first round of the draft. In this excercise though, the Vikings ended up going in a different direction, one that would have had the team looking for an answer at quarterback, but they would have at least had a fun wide receiver to watch in Odell Beckham Jr. The former All-Pro and Madden cover athlete is Trevor Sikkema's selection for Minnesota here, and as he explains it, he was on pace for a Hall of Fame career before injuries set in. "Few players have gotten off to a more electric start in the NFL than Odell Beckham Jr. Lauded for his blazing speed and incredible hands, Beckham became an instant star with the New York Giants. Across his first five seasons, he earned a 92.6 PFF receiving grade that ranked fifth among all wide receivers. Injuries shortened what could have been a Hall of Fame-worthy career, but Beckham did contribute to the Rams' Super Bowl-winning outfit in 2021. He'll forever be remembered for his highlight-reel plays in New York." Perhaps Christian Ponder would have been able to finally be the player the team had hoped for with someone like Beckham Jr. to throw to? Sadly, no one will ever know. Another thing to think about is the idea of Beckham Jr. joining the likes of Adam Thielen, Kyle Rudolph, and Cordarrelle Patterson on the Vikings offense. While the Vikings have had their issues with roster building over the recent decade, they have seemingly been able to hit on skill players more often than not, even if they take a while to develop.
