Trick Williams Wants To Face The Greatest TNA Champion Of All Time

Trick Williams wants to prove himself as the TNA World Champion. WWE NXT Superstar and current TNA World Champion Trick Williams recently spoke with Mike Johnson of PWInsider. When asked who he'd like to defend the title against, Williams called out arguably the greatest TNA World Champion of all time, RAW Superstar AJ Styles. 'I want AJ Styles,' Williams said. 'I told Atlanta that I'm the greatest TNA Champion of all time, and the audacity of that crowd to turn and say 'AJ Styles'? Completely disrespectful. There's only one way to get to the bottom of this. Gimme AJ Styles. Let me prove myself. Let me show everybody how legit Trick Williams is. That's the one I want. Trick Williams versus AJ Styles.' Since the partnership between WWE and TNA began, fans have been clamoring to see Styles step into a TNA ring one more time. Perhaps this is the path to making that happen. Report: WWE SmackDown To Extend Three-Hour Format

WWE SmackDown may not return to a two-hour format… yet. 2025 began with WWE SmackDown running as a three-hour show on the USA Network, instead of its usual two hours. This was a significant change for the blue brand, which had largely been a two-hour show since its inception in 1999. Triple H later mentioned in January that this change was only temporary and that SmackDown would go back to two hours later. Advertisement In September 2024, WrestleVotes reported SmackDown would switch back to two hours in June after many three-hour episodes. Last month, WrestleVotes confirmed this again and said the change would likely happen with the June 6 episode of SmackDown, with Dave Meltzer also confirming this detail. However, recent reports from PWInsider say that things might not go as expected. The reports mentioned that the USA Network had internally listed WWE SmackDown as running three hours long in early June. This means the show might continue with the longer, three-hour format instead of going back to the usual two-hour format. It remains to be seen how much longer this format will last, but it looks like SmackDown will be a three-hour show a bit longer. WWE SmackDown May 23rd match card update The May 23 episode of Friday Night SmackDown will air live from the EnMarket Arena in Savannah, Georgia. This show will be the final stop before Saturday Night's Main Event. Below is updated match card for upcoming edition of SmackDown. TKO Makes Major Change To WWE Severance Packages, Hurts Company Morale

TKO continues to make changes to WWE's corporate structure that isn't friendly to the employees of the company. According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, TKO sent out a memo to WWE employees this afternoon to inform them that a new severance policy has been implemented, effective immediately. WWE has now adopted the TKO policy of two weeks' worth of severance pay for every year you have worked for the company. Reducing it from a month for every year you worked there previously. Johnson also reports that there are now 'additional caps' on the policy based on the management level. However, he doesn't have more information about that at this time. This change has caused a 'major blow to company morale' as many are tasked with responsbilities beyond WWE, including UFC and PBR. A much larger workload than when the company was owned by Vince McMahon. Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information as it becomes available. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A major WWE storyline is expected to spill over onto late-night television this week. The feud involving Randy Orton, Drew McIntyre, Logan Paul, and the musician Jelly Roll is reportedly set to continue on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! this Wednesday night. According to a new report from PWInsider, the announced appearance of Randy Orton on the show is no coincidence. A wrestling angle is expected to take place to further build the massive tag team match scheduled for SummerSlam. WWE Angle Expected On 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' This Wednesday, July 16th, Jelly Roll is scheduled to guest host the popular talk show. His announced guests include actor Jeremy Renner and WWE Legend Randy Orton. The PWInsider report suggests that fans should expect either Drew McIntyre or Logan Paul to make a surprise appearance to confront Orton and continue their feud. This comes after a chaotic weekend of WWE programming. On the July 11th episode of SmackDown, Logan Paul confronted Jelly Roll before being saved by Orton. Drew McIntyre then attacked Orton, leading to Jelly Roll making the save for "The Viper." This all led to another angle at Saturday Night's Main Event, where a tag team match was officially announced for SummerSlam: Randy Orton and Jelly Roll vs. Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul. The most famous example occurred in 1982 when comedian Andy Kaufman and wrestler Jerry "The King" Lawler appeared on Late Night with David Letterman. During the interview, Lawler slapped Kaufman out of his chair in a moment that blurred the lines between reality and entertainment and brought wrestling to a national, mainstream audience. The Modern WWE Crossover Strategy In the 1990s, WCW famously used Jay Leno's The Tonight Show to build a pay-per-view main event between Leno & Diamond Dallas Page and Hulk Hogan & Eric Bischoff. For WWE, bringing their top stars and storylines to a platform like Jimmy Kimmel Live! is a proven way to garner media attention ahead of a major event like SummerSlam. More news: WWE News: Steve Austin Reveals Real-Life Vince McMahon Confrontation The storyline itself is a perfect example of WWE's modern strategy under TKO of utilizing major crossover stars. Logan Paul, the current United States Champion, has proven to be a legitimate in-ring talent and a major draw. Jelly Roll, a Grammy-winning artist and lifelong wrestling fan, has shown he is more than willing to get physically involved, as seen in his previous WWE appearances. Will WWE Evolution 3 happen? Triple H and Backstage reactions hint YES

Triple H (Image via Getty Images) WWE 's second all-women's premium live event, Evolution 2, delivered in a big way and confused fans with one major question - will there be an Evolution 3? After a powerful night of unforgettable moments in Atlanta, both fans and people within the company are wondering if WWE will continue this milestone event, and signs are pointing in a hopeful direction. Although nothing has been made official, strong backstage reactions and comments from WWE leadership suggest that another Evolution event is certainly on the table. The success of Evolution 2 might just be the push needed to make the next one a reality. Positive reactions backstage raise hopes for Evolution 3 According to a report from PWInsider's Mike Johnson, the general feeling behind the scenes in WWE was one of excitement and satisfaction after the 2025 edition of Evolution. Johnson noted that the people he spoke with felt strongly about doing another Evolution PLE, even though there's no confirmed schedule yet. 'The feeling among those we spoke to is they'd 'have to do' another Evolution show after the excellent quality of the show last night, but there's no set timetable as to if or when that happens – and those we spoke to made it clear nothing has been decided, just that in their opinion, it's logical there would be another after the execution of last night's show.' - Mike Johnson , PWInsider Clearly, the overall quality of the 2025 event impressed many, and with that kind of backstage support, it's likely the conversation for a third installment is already underway. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Concentrated Siberian Ginseng Extract 2oz Superior Ginseng Undo Triple H weighs in on Evolution's future During the post-show press conference, WWE's Chief Content Officer, Paul ' Triple H ' Levesque, addressed whether Evolution could become a yearly event. His answer left the door open but emphasized flexibility and growing equality within WWE's women's division. 'I don't want to say it's yearly, it's not yearly. I think we see what that demand is for it. Because as the demand for the women grows across the board every day, it becomes less about having their own show and more about… the equality, it's all there. They don't have to have their show to be in the spotlight. But if it works, we'll definitely go down that road again. It's a 'we shall see.'' - Paul 'Triple H' Levesqu WWE Evolution (Image via X) He also added that the women of WWE inspire fans every week, whether it's on RAW, SmackDown, or a Saturday night event, and that Evolution doesn't have to be the only place where they shine. Though Evolution 2 may have been quickly planned, possibly to counter AEW's All In Texas, it delivered big. With strong fan support and backstage praise, another Evolution feels likely. While no date is confirmed yet, WWE's women's division is shining brighter than ever, and the Evolution may be far from over.
