I've tried almost every treatment (both at home and in-salon) to try and combat my breakouts, with few leaving lasting results - so when I read about the LumaLux LED Mask, I was intrigued. Could clearing my skin really be as simple as using this for three minutes per evening?
The box contains everything you need to work the mask, including the mask itself, a USB-C charging cable, controller, carry bag and user manual. Although at first it seemed tedious to set up, it took me less than 10 minutes to figure out how to work the mask - though you can't use it straight away, and you'll have to allow it to charge before your first use.
As the instructions described, I took off my makeup with my usual micellar water and gentle cleanser before fitting the mask and listening to rain sounds while lying in bed. The reviews are true: it really does feel like you're having your own little spa treatment, and the mask was incredibly comfortable to wear.
The mask boasts 8 light settings, all targeting different ailments, though as I'm focusing specifically on treating my acne, I went for the Blemish Control Mode, which is a blue light treatment.
Which each treatment only taking three minutes long, I feel using the mask nightly is something I can commit to - I've been hesitant to purchase other masks as they usually boast treatment times of 10 or sometimes 20 minutes, and I feel I'm far too fidgety to commit to that.
Though I didn't notice immense results straight away, my skin definitely looked somewhat inflamed after just one use, and a little less red.
After using the mask daily for four weeks, I can confidently say I've noticed a vast improvement with my skin. I usually suffer with flare-ups in between my eyebrows, and on my chin (which suggests its hormonal), though since using this, I've only suffered with the odd spot - and they disappear much more quickly.
