From Summer Camp to Street Style: How to Style This Unexpected Trend
Every item on this page was chosen by an ELLE editor. We may earn commission on some of the items you choose to buy. Once a beloved summer camp staple, now a high-fashion regular, tie-dye has become an eclectic, yet luxurious design that can spice up any wardrobe without feeling too mature. This summer, the print, and psychedelically-inspired abstract iterations, have taken bold-patterned dressing to a whole new level. The hypnotic swirls briefly saw a runway renaissance through the 2010s, enticing designers like Prada and Rabanne to throw their hats into the dye-filled mix. However, this time around, the trend feels less mid-aughts-DIY and more retro-resurgence. The rise in popularity of the playful pattern taps into fashion's current penchant for throwbacks. Whether it be archive pulls on the red carpet, '70s and '80s recreations on the runway, or digging in the back of a drawer in your childhood bedroom, we can't help but fondly return to our fashion roots. 'We're seeing tie-dye emerge across luxury fashion and accessories because it speaks to a collective desire for individuality, optimism, and a touch of nostalgia,' Emily P. Wheeler, founder of her eponymous label, tells ELLE. As a fine jewelry designer, Wheeler struck a balance with her 'Resistance' collection, which debuted during couture earlier this year. She was inspired to use the centuries-old tradition as a modern technique. The centerpiece: a pair of tie-dye spiral earrings, priced at $36,000. She adds, 'Luxury consumers today want pieces that feel personal and expressive, and tie-dye—when done with intention—delivers that in a fresh, elevated way.' As much as we may treasure that worn-out camp T-shirt that no longer fits, chic Auteur Studio cut-out slip dresses, Dries Van Noten oversized structured sweatshirts (printed with an abstracted orchid, resembling the tie-dye effect), and Celine baseball caps firmly place this summer's swirling enthusiasm into the present moment. Not to mention, tie-dye is one of the few loud, youthful prints that can be dressed up or dressed down. Whether it be through adding a pop of color with a Chloé clutch for a formal occasion, or keeping it relaxed on the beach with a lightweight Gabriela Hearst top, tie-dye is the new go-to for summer dressing.

Ben Gorham to Exit Byredo
Ben Gorham will leave Byredo at the end of June, stepping away from the brand he founded in 2006. The departure comes two years after Puig acquired full ownership of the Stockholm-based fragrance and lifestyle company. Gorham had agreed to stay on through mid-2025 as part of Puig's acquisition terms, maintaining creative oversight during the transition. His exit finalizes Puig's integration of the brand, which it purchased amid preparations for its stock market debut last May. Byredo was valued at over €1 billion ($1.15 billion) at the time of the 2022 deal, and has since expanded across categories including cosmetics, leather goods and jewellery. The brand's makeup line, launched in 2020, was developed with artist Isamaya Ffrench and later overseen by Lucia Pica. Puig's portfolio includes brands like Rabanne, Charlotte Tilbury and Dries Van Noten. The Spanish group is positioning itself as a major player in high-end fragrance and beauty, segments that continue to perform well despite weakness in other areas of the luxury market. Learn more: Byredo's Ben Gorham on Propelling a Niche Brand to Global Success For 'The State of Fashion: Beauty' founder Ben Gorham breaks down Byredo's journey to its recent acquisition by luxury group Puig and how indie labels can flourish in a crowded market.

Boots shoppers snap up iconic Diesel fragrance with 1,600 five-star reviews now half price
"My husband has been wearing this on and off for years. He loves it, I love it, and it lasts long on him, which always helps." Boots shoppers are snapping up a long-lasting eau de toilette that's been slashed down to half price. Diesel Only The Brave Mens Eau de Toilette would usually cost £60 for a 30ml bottle, but has now dropped down to £30. The fragrance comes in an iconic fist shaped bottle that stands out on any dressing table or shelf. It has a bright opening with citrus notes of Amalfi lemon and mandarin before settling into a masculine heart of cedar, coriander and violet. The base is a well grounded blend of French labdanum, amber styrax, benzoin and leather. It's proven popular with fans of Le Male by Jean Paul Gaultier (£46 for 40ml), although Le Male is much sweeter. Rabanne's 1 Million (£57.99 for 50ml), which is quite spicy, is also a popular choice with fans of Only the Brave. It's brought in an average rating of 4.6 out of 5 from more than 2,000 reviews, with an impressive 1,888 of shoppers surveyed saying that they would recommend it. One shopper said: "Fantastic fragrance, three people have randomly complimented me on the tube when I've worn Only the Brave. Great brand and awesome smell - love it." Another was pleased, adding: "My husband has been wearing this on and off for years. He loves it, I love it, and it lasts long on him, which always helps. Great buy." Some shoppers have found it a little too overpowering, though, with one complaining: "It smells good after you let it air for a couple of hours. At first, it's too strong and makes me dizzy. After a couple of hours, it smells good. The aroma lasted the whole day. I really don't like very strong aroma perfumes." It's proven a popular option for dads and sons alike, with one writing: "Love this smell, wish it wasn't so pricey, normally buy it for my dad on father's day, he loves it too." Diesel Only The Brave is now available for £30.

No, a Tank Top Is Not Just a Tank Top
The humble white tank top is a classic layering garment—one of those staple pieces in your wardrobe that are constantly in the summer rotation. You can throw it on under a denim jacket or button-up shirt without virtually any thought. But that doesn't have to mean it's boring! Sure, it may not be as flashy as the latest It bag or a trendy scarf skirt, but if the 2025 spring runways are proof, a tank top can be more than just an undershirt. In fact, with the right styling and finishings (sequins! Prints!), it can even be an unexpected statement piece this season. Take all of the flashy tanks that popped up on the recent spring catwalks. At Rabanne, classic tank top silhouettes were covered in silvery chainmail—a signature material of the label. At Tory Burch, an equally-blingy approach was taken: The designer covered them in sparkly red or blue sequins. Instead of the customary white or black cotton, designers are rethinking the piece and making the case for it as more of an eye-catching focal point. Basic? More like the better 'B' word: Bold. Rabanne spring 2025 Photo: Umberto Fratini / Tory Burch spring 2025 Alessandro Viero / Celebrities and the street style set are on board with the summer approach. Back in February, remember when Timothée Chalamet hit the Berlin Film Festival in a pink Chrome Hearts tank top? He proved that with a fun color and designer logo plastered onto it, a tank can, in fact, be red carpet worthy. Ditto for South Korean model Hyun Ji Shin, who hit Fashion Month in a fringed tank top and wide-leg trousers—the street style photographers instantly went wild for the textured top.
