US Embassy Amman warns its citizens of alcoholic beverage poisoning danger
Ammon News - The US Embassy in Amman warned its citizens of suspected methanol poisoning linked to locally produced alcoholic beverages.
In a statement issued Wednesday morning, is aware of recent media reports of suspected methanol poisoning linked to locally produced alcoholic beverages, resulting in a number of deaths and number of suffered serious illness.
The following alcoholic beverages have been identified as potentially compromised:
· GOLD GOOD Whisky
· RedSun VODKA
· 48 VODKA VOLGA
· GOLD & BROWN VODKA
· GOLD & BROWN Whisky
· Our mountain sweat
· Sarah's eye sweat
· Solaf Extra Sweat
· Jean George
· Rare sweat
· Gull sweat
Actions to Take:
Only buy alcoholic beverages from licensed liquor stores, bars, hotels, and markets
If the smell or taste seems wrong, do not drink the alcohol
Seek immediate medical attention by calling 911 if you or a traveling companion shows signs of methanol poisoning
