First hands-on photos of the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 shared by DCS
The Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 was announced yesterday and is already on sale in China. Digital Chat Station has posted some hands-on photos and thoughts on Xiaomi's latest flip foldable. Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 The phone's larger battery (5,165mAh, up from 4,780mAh on the original) promises longer battery life. The phone also supports wireless charging at 50W (more on that and accessories later). The Snapdragon 8 Elite has performance when needed but is also capable of running efficiently. Xiaomi Mix Flip 2: 4' cover and 6.86' inner displays The displays are the same size as last year – 4' cover display and 6.86' inner display. The crease on the inner display is very small, the best in the industry, reports DCS. As for the cover display, it was measured at 810 nits of brightness in sunlight mode, which results in good visibility outdoors. Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 Going back to wireless charging, Xiaomi offers magnetic cases that work with MagSafe compatible chargers and stands. Additionally, Xiaomi has built a portable photo printer. This CNY 700 ($100) add-on has a shutter key and can turn your digital shots into physical photos that you can share. A portable photo printer for the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 By the way, Xiaomi also unveiled a new photography kit for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra yesterday – no photo printer here, not even a detachable battery grip. On the plus side, it is pretty lightweight at just 42g and still adds a two-stage shutter key plus a dedicated video button. Source

Top 5 smartphones coming this July: Nothing, Samsung, Motorola and more
For smartphone enthusiasts, July is going to be one of the most action-packed months this year. From Nothing to Vivo, several smartphone manufacturers will be launching new budget and premium phones. From Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Z series to the highly anticipated Nothing Phone 3, here's a quick look at some of the best smartphones coming next month. Next month, Motorola might launch a new G series device. While the company is yet to share the name and model number of the smartphone, a Flipkart microsite suggests that it will most likely be the Moto G96. As for other specifications, leaks and rumours have suggested that the Moto G96 will most likely be powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 and offer up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The smartphone will come with Hello UI based on Android 15 out of the box and get 3 years of OS updates. It is expected to sport a 6.67-inch pOLED screen with a 144 Hz refresh rate and get a dual rear camera setup with a 50MP Sony LYT-700C main sensor alongside an 8MP ultrawide shooter. The microsite also shows off four colourways – with leaks hinting that it will be available in Ashleigh Blue, Cattleya Orchid (lavender), Dresden Blue and Greener Pasture. Moto G96 is expected to start from Rs 22,000, but we recommend you take this information with a grain of salt since things may change down the line. Nothing CEO Carl Pei has confirmed that it will be launching its first flagship – the Nothing Phone (3), on July 1. For its upcoming premium device, the company is ditching its iconic Glyph interface for what might be a dot matrix display on the back. As it turns out, the Nothing Phone 3 won't feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite but instead will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, which powers the likes of the iQOO Neo 10 and the recently unched Poco F7. The Nothing Phone (3) is said to come with a huge 6.77-inch 120Hz AMOLED screen and offer up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. On the back, we might see a triple camera setup that consists of a 50MP primary lens, but we don't have much information about the other lenses. Nothing has confirmed that the Phone (3) will be made from premium materials and have 'software that really levels things up.'As for the price, the Nothing Phone (3) will be priced somewhere around 800 pounds, which roughly translates to Rs 90,000. Samsung recently sent out invitations for a July 9 event in Brooklyn, New York, where the South Korean maker is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7. The company's upcoming book-style foldable, Galaxy Z Fold 7, is said to offer an 'Ultra' experience. Rumour also has it that the phone will have a larger 8.2-inch inner display, which, if true, will make it Samsung's largest foldable smartphone ever. On the hardware front, we expect to see the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, but recent rumours have hinted that Samsung might go with its newly launched Exynos 2500. On the back, it is expected to feature a 200MP primary camera, with the telephoto shooter and ultrawide sensor expected to stay the same as last year. Coming to the Galaxy Z Flip 7, Samsung might choose to go with a near bezel-less cover screen like the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra and pack in a 6.8-inch screen. Rumour also has it that the upcoming device will have a 50MP primary camera in addition to a 50MP ultrawide lens, come with One UI 8 based on Android 16 and have a 4,000mAh battery. Oppo is bringing its Reno 14 series to India on July 3. The upcoming smartphone(s) will be available on Amazon and Flipkart. Unlike its Chinese counterpart, the Indian version of the Reno 14 and the Reno 14 Pro will most likely be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8450 chipset and come with huge Silicon Carbon batteries. The Reno 14 Pro is said to sport a 6.59-inch AMOLED screen, whereas the Pro variant might be getting a larger 6.83-inch display. The Reno 14 is rumoured to sport a 50MP Sony IMX882 sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 50MP telephoto shooter, while the Reno 14 Pro will have a triple 50MP camera setup. If this is the same as the Chinese version, we might see a 6,000mAh battery on the Reno 14 and a slightly larger 6,200mAh battery on the Reno 14 Pro. Recently, Vivo unveiled its latest compact flagship smartphone – the X200 FE, in Taiwan. Following in OnePlus' footsteps, the company has now announced that its newest compact phone will soon be launched in India. While Vivo did not reveal the exact launch date, it is said to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chipset and offer IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance. The upcoming compact flagship will most likely be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset and get a huge 6,500mAh battery that supports 90W wired charging. On the back, we will see a Zeiss-tuned triple camera setup with a 50MP primary shooter, a 50MP telephoto lens and an 8MP ultrawide sensor. However, the biggest change might be in the software department, as Vivo might finally do away with FunTouch OS in favour of the feature-packed, aesthetically pleasing OriginOS.

I wish I could buy the second generation of my favourite foldable phone
One of my favourite foldable smartphones is the Xiaomi Mix Flip. Not only is it an excellent handset with a barely visible crease, but it also offers excellent value for money. So Xiaomi's launch of the Mix Flip 2 in China caught my attention. Even if I do have to just sit here, politely applauding from afar. With the Mix Flip 2, Xiaomi has gone and upgraded pretty much everything. It's packing Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which probably means this foldable runs smoother than you could ever need. The battery's a beefy 5165mAh – which is a big deal when most flip-style phones are still trying to pretend 4000mAh is enough. It also clocks in at under 200g and just 7.57mm when unfolded. What's even more annoying (in a good way) is the new 3.5 inch outer display. It supports over 500 apps now – not just the predictable ones either like your calendar or the clock. You can apparently book flights, order from Amazon, and even fiddle with photos without opening the phone. Since it's 2025, there are also some AI-powered pet lock screens that react when you poke them. Not exactly a must-have feature, but perhaps useful if you've ever wanted your phone to act like a Tamagotchi. The camera set-up looks pretty impressive as well – and not just for a foldable. It features a Light Fusion 800 sensor paired with Leica optics. Xiaomi's partnership with Leica has produced some surprisingly strong mobile shooters lately, so I wouldn't be shocked if the Mix Flip 2 punches above its weight in the photography department. It's available in White, Purple, Green, and a properly flashy Checkered Gold. You can spec this foldable all the way up to 16GB RAM and a ridiculous 1TB of storage. Pricing starts at 5999 RMB (approx $825/£650), with three configurations: 12GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB, and 16GB+1TB. All of them are currently exclusive to China. Xiaomi says there are no updates regarding global availability. Still, considering the first-gen Flip did eventually go global, I'm holding out hope that the sequel won't stay locked in China forever.

Xiaomi Mix Flip 2, a clamshell foldable smartphone, launched: Price, features and more
Xiaomi has officially unveiled the Mix Flip 2, its latest clamshell-style foldable smartphone, in the Chinese market. A successor to the original Mix Flip, the new model boasts several upgrades, including a more powerful processor, brighter displays, enhanced cameras, and improved battery life with wireless charging support. The Mix Flip 2 is powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage. It runs on Android 15, overlaid with Xiaomi's custom HyperOS 2 interface. A standout feature is its dual-display setup. On the outside, there's a 4.01-inch AMOLED screen protected by Dragon Crystal Glass 2.0, offering up to 3,200 nits of peak brightness and a 120Hz refresh rate. Inside, the phone opens to reveal a 6.86-inch AMOLED main display, also reaching 3,200 nits brightness, with 1.5K resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Photography enthusiasts will find the Leica-tuned dual rear camera system particularly appealing. The setup includes a 50MP Light Hunter 800 primary sensor with optical image stabilisation and a 24mm Leica Summilux lens, accompanied by a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 14mm focal length and autofocus. A 32MP front camera sits within the inner display for selfies and video calls. The Mix Flip 2 packs a 5,165mAh battery, a notable upgrade from its predecessor, and supports both 67W wired and 50W wireless charging. Xiaomi has also included a dual vapour chamber cooling system to manage heat during intensive use. Connectivity features include 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, NavIC, and multiple global positioning systems such as GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, and Beidou. A range of sensors, stereo dual speakers with Dolby Atmos, and an X-axis linear motor enhance the overall user experience. In terms of design, the device has a sturdy metal frame and hinge. When unfolded, it measures 166.89 x 73.8 x 7.57mm, and when closed, it shrinks down to 86.13 x 73.8 x 15.87mm, with a total weight of 199 grams. The Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 starts at CNY 5,999 (approximately ₹ 71,500) for the base model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The 12GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB variants are priced at CNY 6,499 (around ₹ 77,000) and CNY 7,299 (roughly ₹ 81,000), respectively. It is available in four colour options: Nebula Purple, Lattice Gold, Plum Green, and Shell White.

I was worried about the rumored prices for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 — but this new pricing leak makes a lot more sense
We're not expecting the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 to be particularly cheap. But these two phones could cost less than expected going by the latest pricing rumor. We've seen reporting of rumored higher prices for Samsung's new foldables. But the reliable WinFuture and Roland Quandt have made their own claims about the cost of the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, and fortunately these are less alarming. Get a free $50 Samsung credit when you register your interest in one of Samsung's new Galaxy Z phone launches. The site doesn't mention the Z Fold 7 or Z Flip 7 by name, but all signs point to this being what gets announced on July 9. Additionally, you'll get an enhanced trade-in credit when you trade-in your old phone. This offer is valid through July 8. The prices according to WinFuture are in the table below. These are apparently taken from European retailer sources. 256GB 512GB 1TB Galaxy Z Fold 7 €1,999 €2,119 €2,359 Galaxy Z Flip 7 €1,099 €1,219 n/a For comparison, here are the previously rumored prices: 256GB 512GB 1TB Galaxy Z Fold 7 €2,227 €2,309 Unspecified Galaxy Z Flip 7 Unspecified €1,425 Unspecified Finally, it's important to note that currently in Europe, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is sold at €1,999/€2,119/€2,359 depending on the memory spec, while the Galaxy Z Flip 6 sells for €1,199/€1,319. Going by the earlier pricing rumor, (which was based on Italian pricing, including its hefty 22% VAT rate), it would appear that Samsung was increasing the price of both of these foldable models over last year. But the newer leak instead suggests that Samsung is keeping its Z Fold pricing the same between generations, and is actually reducing the price of the Z Flip 7 compared to the Z Flip 6. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. We're inclined to take WinFuture's word over other sources when it comes to pricing. That's because of the site's reliable leaks, not just because we're desperate for good news about the price. WinFuture also has details on the pricing of the rumored Galaxy Watch 8, both the standard and Classic. It says that these smartwatches will be €40-50 more expensive than the Galaxy Watch 7 models they will replace. WinFuture suggests this is because of Samsung doubling the default internal storage to 64GB. Fortunately, the new Galaxy Watch Ultra model will apparently stay at the same price as the original — €699. A number of differences and upgrades have been tipped for the Galaxy Z Fold 7, including a larger but slimmer design with some new and returning color options, a 200MP main camera and a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset for enhanced performance. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 meanwhile is thought to be getting larger displays inside and out too, plus a larger battery and either an Exynos 2500 chip or a Snapdragon 8 Elite depending on the market where you buy it. We've also heard tips about a Galaxy Z Flip FE model launching at the same time. This foldable will supposedly offer an older design and lower specs than the Galaxy Z Flip 7, but in return will retail at a sub-$1,000 price. If you're interested in one of these phones, then you can currently claim a $50 discount on pre-orders when registering your interest with Samsung. If you want to know more, then check our Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 hubs for the latest rumors, or tune in for the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked show on July 9 where these phones should be revealed.
