Investors in Magna Prima Berhad (KLSE:MAGNA) have seen returns of 29% over the past three years

By buying an index fund, you can roughly match the market return with ease. But if you buy good businesses at attractive prices, your portfolio returns could exceed the average market return. Just take a look at Magna Prima Berhad (KLSE:MAGNA), which is up 29%, over three years, soundly beating the market return of 5.6% (not including dividends). Let's take a look at the underlying fundamentals over the longer term, and see if they've been consistent with shareholders returns. We've found 21 US stocks that are forecast to pay a dividend yield of over 6% next year. See the full list for free. Because Magna Prima Berhad made a loss in the last twelve months, we think the market is probably more focussed on revenue and revenue growth, at least for now. Shareholders of unprofitable companies usually desire strong revenue growth. That's because it's hard to be confident a company will be sustainable if revenue growth is negligible, and it never makes a profit. Over the last three years Magna Prima Berhad has grown its revenue at 66% annually. That's well above most pre-profit companies. While the compound gain of 9% per year over three years is pretty good, you might argue it doesn't fully reflect the strong revenue growth. So now might be the perfect time to put Magna Prima Berhad on your radar. A window of opportunity may reveal itself with time, if the business can trend to profitability. You can see below how earnings and revenue have changed over time (discover the exact values by clicking on the image). This free interactive report on Magna Prima Berhad's balance sheet strength is a great place to start, if you want to investigate the stock further. A Different Perspective We're pleased to report that Magna Prima Berhad shareholders have received a total shareholder return of 29% over one year. There's no doubt those recent returns are much better than the TSR loss of 4% per year over five years. We generally put more weight on the long term performance over the short term, but the recent improvement could hint at a (positive) inflection point within the business. I find it very interesting to look at share price over the long term as a proxy for business performance. But to truly gain insight, we need to consider other information, too. Case in point: We've spotted 1 warning sign for Magna Prima Berhad you should be aware of. 2 Delhi auto-rickshaw drivers held for beating to death a man over vehicle theft

The police arrested two men on Thursday in connection with the murder of a man who was allegedly thrashed to death last month for the theft of an auto-rickshaw in South West Delhi's R K Puram. The arrested have been identified as Sushil and Amit, both of whom are auto-rickshaw drivers, the police said. Earlier, the police had arrested three other auto-rickshaw drivers —Manjeet Chawla, Abhishek Shukla, Anil Kumar, and Aman — who were part of a gang that forcibly took the victim, Raj Kumar, to the Hanuman Mazdoor Camp in R K Puram and brutally assaulted him. Raj Kumar succumbed to his injuries at Safdarjung Hospital on June 2. According to the police, Shukla reported the theft of his auto-rickshaw from near Hanuman Mazdoor Camp at R K Puram police station on May 30. Two days later, Chawla, an acquaintance of Shukla, spotted the stolen vehicle being driven by a man later identified as Raj Kumar at a CNG station on Ring Road in Sarojini Nagar. 'When Raj Kumar tried to flee, Chawla, along with other auto-rickshaw drivers, managed to detain him. Chawla then informed Sushil, a cousin of the auto-rickshaw's owner, who arrived at the scene with Amit and some other men. The group took Raj Kumar to the Hanuman Mazdoor Camp, where he was allegedly beaten severely. After he lost consciousness, the victim was left at the spot,' said an officer. Later in the day, Raj Kumar's son was informed, and he shifted his father to Safdarjung Hospital. According to Amit Goel, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South West, the police arrested Manjeet Chawla, Abhishek Shukla, Anil Kumar, and Aman based on Raj Kumar's son's statement and CCTV footage. 'On the basis of the MLC (medico-legal case), information was received at RK Puram police station, and a case was registered under relevant sections of law against unknown persons. The arrested men revealed that Sushil and Amit were also involved in the crime, but both were absconding,' said the DCP. After Raj Kumar succumbed to injuries on June 2, the police added Section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Bharatitya Nayaya Sanhita (BNS) to the case and registered a second First Information Report (FIR) under sections 105 and 3(5) (common intention). The police team subsequently deployed informers, conducted technical and manual surveillance, and carried out field operations to trace the absconding accused, the officer said. On July 24, the police received a tip-off that the suspects were in RK Puram, and a trap was laid to nab Sushil and Amit. At Amit's instance, the stolen TSR was also recovered.

A partnership that turned sour, a revenge plot: Inside robbery at ex-NSG commandant's Delhi home

Days after a retired NSG commandant was robbed at gunpoint at his home in Chawri Bazaar, police said four people, including a jewellery businessman, were arrested in the case. According to police, the businessman, Mohammad Kaif, was allegedly miffed after the 86-year-old victim, Bhim Sen — now a diamond and gems artisan — ended their business partnership. The other accused were identified as Aloknath Mishra, 35; Sohail Malik, 23; and Waseem, 48; police said. The incident took place on July 19 when Sen was at his house — which also doubles up as his office — along with his son Sandeep, daughter-in-law Neelam, and grandson. 'A man knocked on the door and called out the name of a family member. As soon as the door was opened, three masked assailants, armed with weapons, forced their way inside,' a police officer had said earlier. When the grandson resisted, one of the masked men took out a gun and tied his hands before taping his mouth, the officer had said. The intruders then looted jewellery and precious stones worth Rs 50 lakh, while also taking $3,550. They locked the family in the kitchen before fleeing. DCP (North) Raja Banthia said, 'Through sustained surveillance and intelligence analysis, it was established that three individuals were involved in the crime. These individuals were observed regrouping near Chawri Bazar Metro Station — two approached through nearby bylanes, while the third arrived in a TSR (three-wheeled scooter rickshaw) after deboarding a Metro train at Rajiv Chowk. Metro data later confirmed that this person had boarded the train from Noida City Centre.' A team led by Sub-Inspector Prashant found the TSR driver. 'The driver confirmed that he had picked up the individual from Connaught Place. The team found that the accused took another train back to Noida City Centre Metro station. He got off and drove away on a scooter,' the DCP said. The scooter was registered in the name of a junior engineer with the New Delhi Municipal Council, who lives in Noida. The engineer told the police that her scooter was being used by her driver, Aloknath Mishra. A trap was laid, and Mishra was arrested on Tuesday. 'Mishra admitted that the robbery had been orchestrated by Kaif as an act of revenge. Kaif hired Mishra, Sohail, and Waseem to execute the plan. Kaif was then arrested from his residence near Jama Masjid and Sohail was arrested from Mustafabad. They admitted that the proceeds of the robbery were with Waseem,' DCP Banthia said. Investigation showed that Waseem fled to Moradabad after the robbery and then went to Sambhal. He then booked a hotel in Roorkee, where he stayed for five days. 'Waseem kept his phone switched off most of the time, switching it on only for a few minutes daily — and always from a location away from his actual place of stay to mislead police. He hid the robbed jewels in Roorkee and was last tracked to Mussoorie,' Banthia said. A trap was laid at Library Chowk in Mussoorie, and the accused was arrested on July 27. Police have recovered the majority of the robbed amount. A police officer said Kaif started doing business with Sen in 2023, and has known him for 20 years. 'Kaif felt that Sen was visiting foreign countries and taking over his clients for his own business. This caused a monetary dispute between the two and led to a fallout,' the officer said.
