WhatsApp Launches 'Remind Me' Feature to Organize Replies - Jordan News

WhatsApp Launches 'Remind Me' Feature to Organize Replies WhatsApp has announced the launch of a new feature aimed at enhancing productivity, called 'Remind Me.' The feature is designed to help users manage unread messages and respond to them more efficiently. اضافة اعلان This feature is currently available in the latest beta version of the app on Android (version v2.25.21.14). It allows users to set reminders for specific messages they may not be able to respond to immediately. The new feature reduces the likelihood of forgetting to reply to messages, such as birthday wishes or family event messages, making interactions more organized and timely. How Does the 'Remind Me' Feature Work in WhatsApp? According to information shared by WABetaInfo, the feature works as follows: The user selects a specific message within a chat. Then, they tap on the three-dot menu in the upper corner. Next, they choose the 'Remind Me' option. The user can then select a reminder interval: 2 hours, 8 hours, 24 hours, or set a custom time and date. Once the set time is reached, WhatsApp sends a notification reminding the user about the specific message. A small bell icon appears next to the message that has a reminder set. When the reminder time arrives, a notification appears highlighting the message and conversation, making it easy to return to without scrolling through all messages. Additional Features Coming Soon In addition to 'Remind Me,' WhatsApp is currently testing a new AI-powered tool called 'Quick Recap.' This feature is designed to provide a brief and fast overview of long conversations. The tool relies on Meta AI technologies and helps users grasp the content of conversations without having to read through every single message.

Struggling with low-light photos? WhatsApp's new night mode could be the fix you're looking for

WhatsApp seems to be working on a new feature that will make it easier to capture images in the dark by taking advantage of software-related enhancements. The feature was spotted in WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.25.22.2 and is likely to make its way to all users in the coming weeks. According to a report by WABetaInfo, some WhatsApp beta testers have started seeing a new night mode at the top of the camera screen on the app. The new feature is activated by clicking on a moon-like icon, and the effects kick in once an image is clicked in low-light scenarios. Night mode reportedly brings software-based improvements to the image by adjusting the exposure and reducing noise in dark environments, allowing the camera to capture more detail in the shadows without relying on external light sources. The feature could come in handy while capturing images in less-than-ideal lighting conditions. The report does caution that the new night mode may not be as effective in extremely low-light scenarios, where it may offer only modest improvements rather than producing a detailed image. Notably, WhatsApp does not activate the night mode automatically—users will have to manually tap on the icon in the camera to enable the feature for clicking more detailed images. The feature comes shortly after WhatsApp rolled out visual effects to its in-built camera app, bringing a dedicated filter button to apply an array of visual effects in real time before taking a picture or video. These filters were earlier restricted to WhatsApp video calls, allowing users to bring a little bit of fun to their conversations. Meanwhile, another recent WABetaInfo report stated that WhatsApp is working on a feature that will allow users to import profile pictures directly from Instagram or Facebook. The feature seems fairly simple: users will go to their profile settings, click on edit to change their profile picture, and see two new options—Instagram and Facebook. Currently, WhatsApp allows users to change their profile picture by either capturing a new one directly from the app, choosing it from the gallery, selecting an avatar, or generating an AI image. With the new feature, they'll also get the option to use their Instagram or Facebook profile picture as their display picture on the messaging app.

WhatsApp to Soon Let Users Import Profile Photos from Facebook and Instagram

In a move aimed at making user experience more seamless across its platforms, WhatsApp is reportedly testing a new feature that will allow Android users to import their profile pictures directly from Facebook or Instagram. This eliminates the need to download images manually from other platforms to use as a display picture on WhatsApp. According to WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo, this upcoming functionality is currently being tested through the WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.25.21.23. As per reports, users who have access to this version can already spot new options under the profile settings. In addition to the existing sources for setting a display photo — like camera, gallery, avatar, and Meta AI — two new options, Facebook and Instagram, have been added to the list. Until now, users who wanted to use a photo from their Facebook or Instagram profiles on WhatsApp had to go through a tedious process. This involved saving the image to their phone's gallery first and then uploading it manually to WhatsApp. The new feature aims to simplify this process and create a unified identity across Meta-owned platforms. The update is part of Meta's ongoing efforts to integrate its apps more closely. The feature works through Meta's Accounts Centre, a unified system that allows users to manage their profiles, logins, and content across Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Users who wish to import their profile photos from other platforms will first need to link their WhatsApp account with their Meta account via this centre. The functionality will be accessible directly from the profile section under WhatsApp settings. Users simply need to tap on their current profile picture and choose either Facebook or Instagram to import a new one. However, it's worth noting that the feature will not be enabled by default. Users will have to manually opt in by linking their accounts through the Accounts Centre. This approach ensures that users have control over their cross-platform presence. Even with tighter integration, WhatsApp will maintain its end-to-end encryption and other existing privacy measures. The platform has reassured users that their privacy will not be compromised and the import feature will only apply to profile photos, not chats or contact data. While this functionality is still under development, only a limited group of users enrolled in the Google Play Beta Programme currently have access to it. Meta has yet to announce a public rollout date, but the feature is expected to be part of a future update for Android users. By allowing easier profile syncing across apps, WhatsApp is inching closer toward a more interconnected and user-friendly experience within the Meta ecosystem — a move that many frequent users of all three platforms will likely welcome.

WhatsApp is testing a new feature for its Android users It will allow them to use their Facebook or Instagram profile photo on the messaging app The feature is currently being tested in a beta version WhatsApp is reportedly testing a new feature for Android users that will allow them to use their Facebook or Instagram profile photo on the messaging app without manually uploading it. The feature is currently being tested in a beta version and is expected to simplify the process of setting up a display picture for WhatsApp by connecting the app with other Meta platforms. As per details shared by WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo, the company is testing the feature in WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.25.21.23. With this version, users can reportedly see new options in the profile settings section of the app. Alongside the usual options like camera, gallery, avatar, and Meta AI, two new sources â€' Facebook and Instagram â€' are being added for profile photos. Until now, if someone wanted to use a photo from Facebook or Instagram as their WhatsApp DP, they had to first download the image from that platform and then upload it through the phone's gallery. This new feature could eliminate that extra step and make things faster for users who maintain the same identity across all Meta-owned platforms. The feature is said to be accessible from the profile section in the settings menu. Users will be able to tap on the existing profile photo and select either Facebook or Instagram to import a new one. However, to make use of this functionality, WhatsApp users will need to link their account with Meta's Accounts Centre. This is a system Meta introduced to make it easier for people to manage their presence across Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. The integration with Meta's Accounts Centre is not new. It already supports features like cross-posting stories or using a single login across multiple apps. Now, with the ability to import profile pictures, WhatsApp is moving another step closer to offering a more connected experience within Meta's ecosystem. However, it's important to note that this feature will not be turned on automatically. According to WABetaInfo, users will have the choice to link their accounts or keep them separate. The feature will be disabled by default, which means users can opt-in only if they want to. Also, despite this cross-platform syncing, WhatsApp will continue to offer the same level of privacy, including end-to-end encryption, and this change will not impact that in any way. As of now, this option is still in the development phase and has only been rolled out to select users who are part of the Google Play Beta programme. There is no confirmed timeline for when the feature will be available to the general public, but it is likely to be included in one of the upcoming updates. WhatsApp might soon let you import profile photos from Facebook and Instagram

Right now, if you want to upload a new profile photo on WhatsApp, you can click a new picture with your phone's camera, select one from your phone's gallery, or use the "AI images" feature. Last month, we heard that WhatsApp was working on letting users display a customized avatar alongside their profile photo, and now we learn that the Meta-owned company might soon let you import profile photos from your Facebook and Instagram accounts. This revelation comes from the folks at WABetaInfo, who shared a screenshot (included below) showing two new options in WhatsApp for Android's Profile menu for importing profile photos directly from Facebook and Instagram. Selecting Facebook or Instagram will allow users to import profile photos from the Facebook/Instagram account linked to WhatsApp. WABetaInfo reports that this feature is optional and turned off by default, and linking WhatsApp with Meta's Account Center for directly importing profile photos from Facebook/Instagram won't affect WhatsApp's privacy protections. This feature was spotted in beta version 2.25.21.23 of WhatsApp for Android and is currently available to some beta testers. However, it's unclear when exactly it will be available to all users of the stable version. Source
