Israeli tourist in Japan asked to sign declaration of non-involvement in war crimes
Foreign tourists move with their luggage at Kyoto station on April 16, 2025. - AFP JERUSALEM/ISTANBUL: An Israeli tourist was asked to sign a declaration affirming he had not committed war crimes during his military service before being allowed to check in at a hotel in Kyoto, Japan. The tourist said the incident occurred after he presented his Israeli passport at reception, when a hotel clerk handed him the form, stating that signing it was a prerequisite for accommodation, Anadolu Ajansi (AA) reported according to a report by Ynetnews on Saturday (April 26). The man, a former Navy reserves combat medic, initially refused but eventually signed the document after being informed that all Israeli and Russian guests were required to do so. The declaration, as quoted, required a pledge that the guest had not committed war crimes such as attacks on civilians, sexual violence, torture or any acts violating the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. It further included a commitment to uphold international humanitarian law and to abstain from any future engagement in war crimes. Israel's Ambassador to Japan, Gilad Cohen, sent a letter to Kyoto Governor Takatoshi Nishiwaki, protesting the hotel's action as "unacceptable.' The hotel manager defended the requirement, telling Ynetnews that it was deemed appropriate. "For us, war is a distant thing and we have never met people who kill women and children and bomb schools," the manager was quoted as saying. A similar case was reported at another hotel in Kyoto in June last year. - Bernama/Anadolu

US Boosts Israel's Arsenal with Thousands of Bombs Amid Escalating Gaza War
The United States is preparing to send a substantial shipment of munitions to 'Israel', further intensifying the ongoing war on Gaza. Reports indicate that the US has approved the transfer of over 3,000 powerful bombs to the Israeli military, coinciding with plans for a significant escalation of military operations in the region. According to sources cited by Ynetnews, an Israeli news outlet, the Israeli air force is set to receive these munitions in the coming weeks, aimed at enhancing their readiness for a major offensive led by the Israeli occupation army's Southern Command. In addition, more than 10,000 additional bombs are anticipated in the near future, replenishing Israel's military stockpiles as it continues its aggressive actions not only in Gaza but also in Lebanon and Syria. This latest shipment is part of a comprehensive arms package that includes MK-84 bombs, which are known for their destructive capability and have previously been linked to significant civilian casualties in Gaza. The transfer follows a similar shipment that was initially put on hold by the previous US administration but was resumed earlier this year. As the situation escalates, Israeli occupation military officials have announced plans to broaden their offensive on Gaza. Israel's Minister for Military Affairs, Israel Katz, confirmed that the military is preparing for a 'vigorous' expansion of its assault, which has already seen the capture of the 'Morag Corridor,' a strategic route connecting southern Gaza cities Rafah and Khan Younis. The Israeli occupation army has reported that Rafah, now completely surrounded, is the last refuge for over a million displaced Palestinians. The intensified genocidal campaign has come at a staggering human cost. Since March 18, at least 1,630 Palestinians have been killed and more than 4,300 wounded across the Palestinian territory due to relentless Israeli bombardments and ground incursions. Entire neighborhoods in Rafah and other southern areas have been flattened, with displaced civilians again forced to flee, this time with nowhere left to go. Across the entire territory, essential infrastructure has been decimated, exacerbating the already dire conditions for over two million Palestinians trapped under blockade.

Israeli fines Burger King $128,000 amid 'kosher' cheeseburger mislabeling
ALBAWABA - Popular fast food chain Burger King was recently accused by an Israeli individual in an action lawsuit of mislabeling its cheeseburgers as "kosher," and is expected to give thousands of meals to IDF soldiers as compensation. The meal vouchers will cost the corporation a whopping 480,000 NIS (approximately $128,000) and can be redeemed by both religious and non-religious IDF soldiers at any of Burger King's "kosher" chains, as reported by Ynetnews. (ELECTRONIC IMAGE) (Photo by MENAHEM KAHANA / AFP) This comes after a religious customer of Burger King filed a lawsuit back in 2022, claiming that they had eaten non-kosher food at one of its Israeli branches, specifically the Hod Hasharon branch. According to the complaint, the branch falsely presented its food as "kosher" at a mall's billboard despite losing its kosher certificate a year prior. It's claimed that the sign was only removed after the customer filed the lawsuit. The customer claims that they were drawn to the sign, but upon taking the first bite, they noticed that they were eating real cheese, which is prohibited in the Torah. According to the Torah, it's prohibited to mix cheese and meat. It's also claimed that it's forbidden to cook meat and milk together as well. The vouchers will be available for one year, and will start getting distributed to IDF soldiers within 45 days upon the court's approval. The plaintiff will receive $2,560 as compensation, while his legal team will collect thousands of shekels in fees.
