Aston Martin Reveals 2026 Vantage S With Shocking Performance

Return of the S Aston Martin is continuing the renewal of its two-decade tradition of applying the 'S' suffix to special, high-performance derivatives of core models with the return of the Aston Martin Vantage S Coupe and Roadster. The British automaker promises it's 'the most performance-focused Vantage in Aston Martin's sports car range.' The move follows the unveiling of the recently launched DBX S, which uses carbon fiber and magnesium to strip the DBX of as much weight as possible while adding the Valhalla supercar's 717-horsepower AMG-sourced, twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8. Aston Martin Vantage S — Source: Aston Martin The S stands for speed For Aston's newest S, its muscular twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 has been tuned to produce 671 horsepower, versus 656 horsepower for other Vantage models, while torque remains unchanged at 590 pound-feet of torque. Peak torque is available between 3,000 and 6,000 rpm through a rear-mounted eight-speed automatic transmission. Weighing in at 3,538 pounds, 346 pounds lighter than standard Vantages, this model hauls S, reaching 60 mph in 3.3 seconds on its way to a 202-mph top speed with the help of Launch Control. That's a 0.1-second improvement, according to Aston Martin. The powerplant features an 8.6 compression ratio, dual variable camshaft timing, and CNC-machined combustion chambers. Aston Martin Vantage S — Source: Aston Martin The Vantage S boasts numerous refinements, such as throttle pedal weight and responsiveness adjusted for the S and its configurable driving modes, to help satisfy the driver's need for speed. The automaker states that ride quality has been enhanced by reducing the rigidity of the rear spring and gearbox mount, as well as increasing the front-end responsiveness of its Bilstein DTX adjustable dampers. To increase response, enhance front-end grip under high lateral loadings, and accurately adjust the Vantage S's overall dynamic balance, the suspension's camber, toe, and caster settings have been adjusted, and the rear subframe is now attached directly to the body. Like any sports car with a performance upgrade, it's enhanced with an improved appearance. That means the Vantage S is distinguished by center-mounted hood blades finished in carbon fiber or gloss black to help optimize breathing. There are also brass-forged 'S' badges on the front fenders filled with red enamel, a full-width rear spoiler, new front air dam and front venturi vanes, and 21-inch Y-spoke wheels in satin black with red accents. Aston Martin Vantage S — Source: Aston Martin The upgrades continue inside, with a cabin fitted with the expected Alcantara, leather, and carbon fiber trim. The seats are embroidered with 'S' logos and Aston Martin wings embroidered onto the headrests. There's also an optional choice of a red or silver knurled metal drive mode rotary, color-matched to the seatbelt, contrast and headrest stitching, as well as full semi-aniline leather or semi-aniline leather and Alcantara cabin. Aston Martin Vantage S — Source: Aston Martin Final thoughts If the S suffix sounds familiar, that's for good reason. In the 1950s, the DB3S was Aston Martin's first post-war racing vehicle to finish second at Le Mans three times and to win a round of the World Sports Car Championship. At the 2004 Paris Motor Show, the Vanquish S was shown, reviving the S suffix and paving the way for the 2011 release of the V-8-powered Vantage S and the 2013 release of the V-12-powered Vantage S. The Rapide S and its more powerful engine became the only Rapide variant two years later, while the Vanquish S followed in 2016. The Vantage S was last produced in 2017. Buyers can order one now, with deliveries expected to begin in the fourth quarter. Pricing has not been announced. About the Author Larry Printz View Profile

Why the 2026 Vantage S Could Be the Ultimate Modern GT

Aston Martin comes back with a sharper, more exhilarating approach to its entry-point sporting car: the 2026 Vantage S. It will embark publicly at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed, but this limited production variant isn't merely one grade above—it's a declaration of intent. It unites aggressive styling, more potent power, and refined dynamics to deliver a driving experience that's more boisterous, more swift, and more passion-provoking than hitherto. Power With Precision: The Beating Heart of the Vantage S Centered in the 2026 Vantage S is a more potent 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, now churning out a behemoth 671 horsepower (against regular production variant's 656 hp) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) torque. This AMG-made monster sprints the coupe 0 to 100 km/h in a sizzling 3.3 seconds, reducing 0.1 second compared to its predecessor. Throttle mapping has also been re-mapped for more prompt response, which makes one feel in control of instant power when pressing down on the pedal. Road and Track Chassis Adjustments While there's more ponies in the Vantage S, Aston's technicians have not blinded themselves to subtlety. This variant relishes rigorous suspension re-calibration. Stiffening goes to the front for greater adhesion, and a touch of softening to the rear suspension for greater ride and high-speed stability. Hard mounting to the rear subframe comes coupled with softer transaxle bushings, which are better for agility and ride comfort. Camber, caster, and toe have all been re-tweaked, delivering more responsive steering feel, more stable straight-ahead handling, and more low-speed compliance. Aerodynamics and External Appearance Cosmetically, it subtly distinguishes itself from its base-model stablemate. It comes with a larger rear spoiler, but one that helps create up to 245 pounds of downforce at its 202-mph top speed. Hood vent blades and a big red 'S' badge on fenders are other visual cues. Optional 21-inch forged wheels with red accents give it undeniable presence. Up front, too, there's more aggressive, sporting race-inspired intakes and signature LED lighting. It's styling that hollers performance but eschews excess, redolent of that car's two-faced personality: brute power camouflaged by refined styling. Interior: Racing Soul Meets Luxury Aboard, the 2026 Vantage S interior unites time-honored British craftsmanship and motorsport-inspired looks. Alcantara and carbon fiber are included, plus bespoke 'S' badges and a red-accented option pack. Rear sport seats, in leather and Alcantara with Formula 1-style stitching, are comfy but grippy. Cockpit-style, high-performance feel comes courtesy of a slimmed-down, all-new steering wheel. A rethought infotainment interface helps give the car its modern feel, allowing drivers to customize their car's behavior and ambiance. Like every Aston Martin, unlimited possibilities for personalization mean customers are able to define everything from seat embroidery to inlays for their trim. Restricted Production and High Anticipation It could very well be one of their final gas-powered special editions since the marque shifts towards full electrification. Production will likely be low, which will only enhance its value to collectors and connoisseurs of unbridled, analog torque. Aston hasn't publicized official pricing yet, but that puts estimates in a range of about $216,000, about $16,000 more than the base price of the coupe. It will also have a Roadster model, which will start shipping later in 2025. Its Legacy Continues On 2026 Aston Martin Vantage S is not a mid-cycle refresh. It's a noisy, confident yell about why, deep down, we still crave that emotional wallop of a combustion engine wearing GT. When electric quietness becomes increasingly dominant, Vantage S roars proudly—while blending British sporting DNA with passion for the future of driving.

2026 Aston Martin Vantage S Revealed: More Power, But Softer Suspension

When new CEO Adrian Hallmark joined Aston Martin, he said he'd be pushing the brand to come out with more model variants. That brief led to the DBX S, and now this, the Vantage S, a hotter version of Aston's entry-level sports car, arriving about 18 months after the standard version. The headline is more oomph from its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8, 671 horsepower and 590 pound-feet, plus lots of detail changes throughout. Aston Martin says the Vantage S benefits from much calibration work. There are lots of suspension tweaks, with revisions to both the damper hardware and software for a bit more grip at the front and a softer rear. The rear subframe is now rigidly mounted to the body, but the mounts for the rear transaxle are 10% softer. Aston also tweaked camber, caster, and toe settings to compensate. The sum, the automaker says, is a car with more agility and steering feel, better low-speed ride, and more straight-line stability. Photo by: Aston Martin In standard form, the Vantage is an outrageously fast car. Aston Martin claimed 656 hp, but if you told this author the power figure actually started with a 7, he'd believe you. Naturally, Aston's increased the output from its AMG-built V-8, and claims a 0.1-second reduction in 0-60 MPH time, now down to 3.3 seconds. The company also tweaked the throttle mapping for better "feel and precision." There are a number of aerodynamic tweaks, most prominently a larger spoiler on the trunk lid. Aston Martin says the Vantage S develops 245 pounds of downforce at its 202-mph top speed. Other than the spoiler, there aren't a ton of major exterior changes to the Vantage S. Really, the only clue is the red "S" badge on the fenders and the blades in the hood vents. There's also a unique 21-inch forged wheel option, which features red accents. Photo by: Aston Martin Inside, there's all sorts of "S" stuff, standard carbon-fiber and Alcantara trim, "S" badges on the seats, and an optional package that brings with it more red accents. This being an Aston Martin, the interior is totally customizable, so you can choose how much you want to let your passengers know you got the special version. Aston Martin hasn't announced pricing yet, but you can presume it'll be a decent bit more money than the around $200,000 MSRP for the regular Vantage coupe. It's only showing the coupe for now, but the Vantage S is available in Roadster form. If you want one, you can order it now, and Aston is aiming for first deliveries in the last quarter of 2025. New Vantage S Makes Big Deal Out Of Small Changes Aston Martin is expanding the Vantage lineup with a new, even sportier model. Unveiled Tuesday, the Aston Martin Vantage S boasts more power and model-specific throttle and chassis tuning aimed at sharper responses. Slated to make its public debut at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed, it's available to order now in both coupe and convertible form at an undisclosed price, with deliveries starting in the fourth quarter. 0:08 / 0:09 Audi A5 replaces A4: So, what's changed? Watch More The new Vantage S follows the DBX S in Aston's new generation of 'S' models. Originating with the DB3S race car in 1953, the nomenclature has been used in the 21st century to denote upgraded versions of Aston road cars, including the 2004 Vanquish S, the 2015 Rapide S, and two previous versions of the Vantage S in 2011 and 2013. 670 HP Delivered More Urgently The latest Vantage S starts with a power boost for the twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8, sourced from Mercedes-AMG. It now makes 670 horsepower, an increase of 14 hp over the standard Vantage. Torque is unchanged at 590 lb-ft, and power is still sent to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transaxle. Aston also made calibration changes to the accelerator pedal weight and response in line with an 'S'-specific engine map, plus changes to the launch control. That shaves 0.1 second off the zero to 60 mph time, which is now 3.3 seconds, according to Aston. Top speed remains unchanged at 202 mph. On the chassis side, Aston claims changes to the tuning of the Vantage's adaptive dampers yield increased front-end feel and response. Rear-spring stiffness was also reduced to improve low-speed ride quality, while the transmission-mount stiffness was reduced by 10% to improve refinement. However, the rear subframe is also hard-mounted to the body to give the driver a more connected feel. Visual changes include two functional hood vents, which play an active role in extracting hot air from the engine compartment, according to Aston. Also functional is a new rear spoiler, which adds 97 pounds of downforce at the car's top speed, contributing to a 244-pound total. Additional changes to the underbody, including a new air dam and Venturi vanes, make up the rest of that total. The Vantage S also wears model-specific 21-inch wheels, but the best way to identify one will likely be the contingent of 'S' badges. Each is hand made from brass, with a red enamel coating and chrome plating to match the main Aston bonnet badge. Source: Aston Martin Source: Aston Martin The interior includes a mix of Alcantara and leather upholstery with carbon fiber trim that's typical of high-end performance cars, plus more 'S' logos. That includes a pair embroidered into the seats with what Aston claims are over 2,500 stitches. The Vantage S' late-2025 delivery timeline means it should also get the latest Apple CarPlay Ultra software. Updates like this, and the Vantage S model itself, will help keep Aston's lineup fresh between redesigns. About the Author Stephen Edelstein View Profile

671bhp, 590lb ft and 202mph: Aston Martin's new track star revealed

Aston Martin has revealed the Vantage S, the third-generation sports car's most track-focused incarnation to date. It is the first time the S suffix has adorned a Vantage since 2018, and the new model follows the recently revealed DBX S as Aston brings back the badge for its highest-performing models. While the 671bhp Vantage S is the most powerful series-production version of Aston's entry-level sports car yet (disregarding the extremely limited V12 Vantage of 2022), attention has been focused specifically on making it as quick as possible on track. To that end, engineers have worked to increase cornering speed and stability. Key to this is the fitment of a new ducktail spoiler, which has been tuned to push the overall downforce balance towards the front of the car. This is combined with new front and underbody aero to produce 111kg of downforce at top speed. Alongside this, Aston has reworked the 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 to deliver 671bhp while making the unchanged 590lb ft accessible higher up the rev range, where it is now produced between 3000rpm and 6000rpm. The car's power delivery software has also been modified, with the driveby-wire throttle tuned to be more responsive and allow for better feel. Combined, this delivers a launch control-enabled 0-60mph time of 3.3sec (0.1sec quicker than before) and a 0-124mph time of 10.1sec. Top speed is unchanged at 202mph. While the car is 15bhp more powerful than before, that 0-124mph time is more than a second slower than that of Ferrari's 631bhp Amalfi, the Italian car maker's new entrylevel, Vantage-rivalling replacement for the Roma. Vast aero additions aside, the Vantage S is marked out by S badging inside and out, special satin black 21in alloy wheels and new blade-shaped front air intakes.
