'Inclusion is a right:' Lebanon's first lady welcomes first employee with disability at presidential palace
Lebanon's First Lady, Nehmat Aoun, announced that, for the first time, a person with a disability has joined the presidential palace team, marking a milestone in promoting inclusion at the highest levels of government.
"Welcome, Ali," she said in a social media post.
She emphasized that this step is not just a hiring decision but the start of fully implementing Law 220/2000 and the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, both ratified by President Joseph Aoun on April 10, 2025.
These legal frameworks guarantee equal rights and opportunities for people with disabilities in all areas.
"Ali's presence at the palace serves as a daily reminder that inclusion is not a choice but a fundamental right for every individual," she further noted.
للمرة الأولى في القصر الجمهوري، ينضم إلينا شخص من ذوي الإعاقة إلى فريق العمل.
أهلاً وسهلاً بك يا علي.
