Love Island's Cierra Ortega apologises for derogatory social media post
"What's been extremely, extremely difficult is the way people are approaching my family and my loved ones," she said. "They have had ICE [US Immigration and Customs Enforcement] called on them. My family doesn't feel safe in their own home. I'm receiving death threats."There's no need to fight hate with hate. I don't think that that's justice." Ortega said she was in agreement with the network's decision to remove her from the show and said she understands why viewers were upset. But she took issue with social media posts claiming that she did not delete the derogatory post or doubled down on using it. "I was apologetic and I educated, not only myself on the true meaning and history of the word, but also anyone around me."I think the backlash has obviously been very hard to deal with."Ortega's departure from the show, a spinoff of the popular UK reality series, follows that of fellow islander Yulissa Escobar, who left after videos of her using a racial slur on a podcast in 2021 re-emerged.What Love Island USA can learn from the UK show's own tragediesLove Island USA's Cierra leaves show after racism rowMs Escobar later apologised, saying on Instagram she used the offensive term "ignorantly, not fully understanding the weight, history, or pain behind it".She followed up her apology with a second post, saying she had received death threats and that she "came back to a warzone" after leaving the villa. This season of Love Island USA has been wildly popular and Peacock, NBC's streaming app that airs the show, said the series was ranking as the most streamed reality series. But its skyrocketing success has led to contestants being relentlessly cyberbullied on social media, so much so that the show aired a statement during a recent episode with a plea for viewers to halt the harassment.

Model Jessica Hart looks glum as she packs her belongings into a storage unit - after ugly split from her race car driver fiancé James Kirkham
Jessica Hart tried to go incognito in Los Angeles on Friday as she was spotted looking glum while moving some of her belongings into a storage facility. The model, 39, appeared to be moving out of the Hollywood Hills home she shared with her race car driver fiancé James Kirkham following their split earlier this year. She arrived at the site in the same $368,000 Mercedes-AMG G-Class she was spotted having a row with James in earlier this year. The blonde beauty wasn't afraid to get her hands dirty as she helped a mystery man unload his truck, which contained a various array of household items. Jess kept her outfit casual for the occasion, opting for form-fitting black tights and a matching tank top as she hid her face beneath a cap. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. At one point, she opted for a brown camo jacket and tucked her tresses behind a pair of designer glasses. She was also spotted taking a break to drink some water while her companion unloaded some heavier items from his car. But it wasn't long before Jess got back to work, carrying some large items of her own which she protected with bed sheets. Jess also loaded smaller items and boxes onto a large trolley to transport through the facility. It comes after news the Australian model's high-octane romance with her American race car driver fiancé seems to have well and truly burned out. Following an almighty row inside their $368,000 Mercedes-AMG G-Class earlier this year, Daily Mail Australia obtained photos showing the fallout. NASCAR speedster James, who shares two children with Jess, let himself into a luxury villa located a suburb away from the couple's Hollywood Hills home. A day earlier the Aussie Victoria's Secret stunner stepped out without her engagement ring, looking visibly distraught as she took a phone call. Jess almost married Greek shipping scion Stavros Niarchos III before bonding with tattooed single-father James over their shared love of fast cars in 2019. She accepted his proposal at her baby shower for their first child. Weeks later their daughter Baby-Rae Kirkham was born, and seven months after that, Jess revealed she was pregnant with son Glorious, born in February 2022. But since then the glamorous couple's six-year romance appears to have run out of fuel. The pair have unfollowed each other on Instagram, and had not been pictured together since the US Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, in October—until exclusive photos of their confrontation emerged. During the row, Jess looked visibly concerned during an intense phone conversation as she walked through a parking lot wearing a long sleeve Saint Michael tee and carrying a lavender bag by former Céline creative director Phoebe Philo. Her ringless finger was on display during the emotional conversation, and after hanging up was escorted to her own vehicle by a valet parking attendant. Jess then drove off without him, prompting him to run after the car. 'James caught up with Jessica's car and she stopped again and he got in the front passenger seat,' an eyewitness told us. 'They argued for another 20 minutes then James got out of the car again and ran towards the house.' While it's unclear what the couple was arguing about, a cursory glance of their Instagram accounts suggested their relationship could be in serious trouble. Jess and James no longer appear on each other's followers' lists, which either means they've unfollowed each other, or gone a step further and hit the block button. They have also been mysteriously absent from each other's Instagram grids in recent months. The couple first started dating in early 2019 after Jess joined Mercedes-Benz's AMG Academy, which helps to train motoring enthusiasts how to race, and was immediately drawn to the NASCAR star. Romance soon blossomed and they announced they were expecting their first child together in September 2020. Just a month later, James got down on one knee and proposed to the Victoria's Secret model at their baby shower. Weeks after that, they welcomed their daughter, Baby-Rae Kirkham, on November 17. Their child's name made headlines at the time. Jess explained it came from Jennifer Grey's character 'Baby' from the 1987 film Dirty Dancing. Her middle name, Rae, was a nod to Jessica's mother. Seven months later, the blonde revealed she was pregnant again and their son Glorious was born on February 2, 2022. Jessica, whose sister is model Ash Hart, was also a stepmother to James' nine-year-old daughter, Wren, from a previous relationship. Before meeting James, the Vogue cover girl had dated fellow Australian Nicolas Potts, with whom she appeared in the first season of the MTV reality show The City. She was also in a relationship with Stavros Niarchos III, the grandson of Stavros Niarchos, the Greek billionaire shipping tycoon best known for being the arch-rival of Aristotle Onassis, from 2011 to 2017.

Mike Tyson goads Jake Paul over $1MILLION bet after Katie Taylor beats Amanda Serrano in epic trilogy fight
MIKE TYSON warned Jake Paul he is coming for his $1MILLION winnings... and their dinner date. Last November, Tyson controversially came out of retirement aged 58 to face YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul. 3 He lost on points over eight shorter two minute rounds as 100 MILLION tuned in to watch on Netflix. On the undercard, over 50m watched Katie Taylor's rematch win over Amanda Serrano which came two years after her initial victory. Paul - who promotes Serrano - put $1m (£750,000) up in a wager against Tyson - who was backing Taylor. But Iron Mike insisted he must also be taken out for dinner by multimillionaire Paul if he won. And his bet paid off after Taylor closed out her trilogy series with a hat-trick of wins over her great rival Serrano. Tyson, now 59, immediately posted online: "Congrats to @KatieTaylor and @Serranosisters on the trilogy fight on Netflix. "@jakepaul see you at dinner to collect my million!" Taylor took a majority-decision and said: "I just want to thank Amanda Serrano as well, what an amazing fighter, we've made history here. 'I thought I boxed very smart, very well. She wasn't catching me with much. 'It was obviously very, very close. Just thank God my hand was raised. I planned to come in here and be disciplined and smart. 'I executed the game plan very well. Total respect for Amanda, what a warrior. I love you all, I love my country. Thank you so much.' Serrano, 36, said: 'We tried something different, it was all about working smarter, not harder. 'I tried to keep my distance because apparently it didn't worth the first two fights. So we tried to stick with the long punches and it just wasn't enough. 'I don't know, I have to go back and watch it. My team told me they think I won, I'm going to believe what they tell me. 'I was really trying to apply what they were telling me. I really want to support every single one of you for coming out and supporting me and women's boxing. 'What an amazing night for all of us women. I'm crying at the support, thanks to all of you. 'Thank you Jake Paul, you've changed my life. Thank you Netflix for showcasing us warriors. 'Thank you Katie Taylor for an incredible 30 rounds, it's been a true honour.' 3

TV tonight: who was the real Jayne Mansfield? Her daughter tells all
9pm, Sky Documentaries A touching, beautiful film that takes us back to Hollywood's golden age. TV actor Mariska Hargitay was only three years old when her 34-year-old mother Jayne Mansfield died. Deprived of any memories, she goes in search of the real Jayne – away from the sex symbol – via inherited belongings, home movies and never-before-seen photos, visiting the now demolished 'pink palace' and speaking with her siblings properly for the first time. Hollie Richardson 6pm, BBC Two The 1985 Live Aid concert was a whopping 16 hours long, but the anniversary package is a mere seven. The early acts underline how many mainstream white artists played, with Status Quo, Led Zeppelin and Phil Collins all turning out. The less often-seen backstage footage should be richer. Jack Seale 9pm, ITV2 There's much buzz around Love Island this summer. Sadly, it's centred entirely on the ratings hit that is the seventh US season, while the 12th series of its UK sibling trundles along with little fanfare, despite being hosted by Maya Jama. Still, there are worse ways to spend a Saturday night, aren't there? Right?! Hannah J Davies 9.40pm, BBC One Lee Mack's popular sitcom reaches its penultimate chapter, with the final ever episode airing next week. As they continue to muddle through post-kids life, Lee (Mack) and Lucy (Sally Bretton) become extras playing elves in TV series Dragon Castle. Cue the usual high-jinks. HR 10.40pm, ITV1 Differences between the UK and US legal systems are highlighted, as agents Anderson (Noah Emmerich) and Okoye (Angel Coulby) investigate the disappearance of the Oxford-student son of a high profile American (Uma Thurman). Namely, it's a pacing issue: 'I've been here for three days,' says Anderson. 'All I've seen you do is release people.' Ellen E Jones 11.45pm, ITV1 In this inspiring and sweet documentary, the nicest guy in football, Ian Wright, helps to launch the first ever girls' under-14 team at his Lewisham childhood club that he owes his career to. It's not just about finding 'the next big thing,' he says – it's simply to give girls the opportunity to play. HR Oppenheimer, out now, Netflix After its extraordinary theatrical run and silverware haul, it's safe to assume that everyone who wants to watch Oppenheimer has already watched it. But even after all the ballyhoo about seeing it on the big screen, Christopher Nolan's film loses very little impact on TV. It's still a total marvel, turning a bog-standard biopic into a puzzlebox of clashing timelines. It's still masterly to look at, transforming the planes of Cillian Murphy's face into grand topography. Best of all, we get to see what Robert Downey Jr looks like when he really puts his all into acting. A must watch. Stuart Heritage A Man Called Otto, 9pm, Channel 4 His days as the do-no-wrong king of Hollywood behind him, Tom Hanks has long since settled into a much more rewarding second act. He writes books. He's become a Wes Anderson day-player. And, more importantly, he gets to star in films like A Man Called Otto. Hanks plays a bitter old crank who plans to kill himself, only to be shaken out of his stupor when he begins to integrate with his neighbours. It's a hard role to pull off – lean too hard one way and you become repellant, lean too hard the other and you become unpleasantly sentimental – but Hanks gets it exactly right. SH Cycling:Tour de France, noon, TNT Sport 1 The eighth stage of the men's race. The ninth stage starts on Sunday from noon, with coverage continuing throughout the week. Tennis: Wimbledon 2025, 11am, BBC Two Penultimate day of this year's tournament, with the women's singles final. The men's singles final is on Sunday from 4pm on BBC One. Test Cricket: England v India, 2pm, Sky Sports Main Event The third day of the Third Test in the five-match series from Lord' play starts at 10.15am. International Rugby: Argentina v England, 8.30pm, Sky Sports Main Event The second test from estadio San Juan del Bicentenario.
