Magistrate Dzul Elmy Yunus issued a four-day remand order until July 5 for three men and a woman following an application by MACC in Kota Kinabalu yesterday. Kosmo quoted a source as saying that the suspects, in their 40s and 50s, were arrested between 6pm and 7pm on June 30 when they went to give their statements at the Sabah MACC office. 'All four suspects, two of whom are a former administrator and assistant administrator of a local oil company, are believed to have committed the offences from 2019 to 2023. MACC begins investigation into MyKiosk project
PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has launched an investigation into alleged corruption and irregularities involving the tender process of MyKiosk project under the Housing and Local Government Ministry. MACC Investigation Division senior director Datuk Zainul Darus said that the commission had launched a preliminary investigation into the matter following a complaint lodged by a political party. "The Governance Investigation Division has also commenced a parallel investigation into the project. "Apart from the ministry, which has submitted a full report on the tender process and award, several other involved parties have also provided documents related to the project," he said in a statement on Wednesday (July 2). Zainul said the MACC's investigation would focus on two key aspects: identifying any elements of corruption and irregularities in the tender process. "The investigation is being conducted under the provisions of the MACC Act 2009," he added. In May, the ministry submitted documents related to the MyKiosk Project to the MACC, demonstrating the ministry's commitment to transparency and integrity in the project. According to the ministry, all procurement and contractor appointments for MyKiosk were carried out by 133 local authorities via open quotation processes. – Bernama

MACC investigates alleged corruption in MyKiosk project
PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has initiated an investigation into alleged corruption and irregularities involving the MyKiosk project, following a complaint lodged by a political party. The complaint centres on the tender process managed by the Housing and Local Government Ministry for the construction of the kiosks. MACC Senior Investigation Director Datuk Zainul Darus said a preliminary inquiry had been carried out based on the information received, and another parallel investigation is being conducted by the Governance Investigation Division involving the MyKiosk project. "The ministry has submitted a complete report detailing the tender process and its award. "In addition, several other parties involved have also provided supporting documents related to the project," he said. Zainul said the investigation will focus on two key aspects, namely, identifying any elements of corruption or abuse during the tender process, and reviewing the entire governance mechanism to determine if there were breaches of regulations, procedures, or systemic weaknesses. He confirmed that the investigation is being conducted under the provisions of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009.
