Chris Hughes hits out at 'disgusting' trolling of girlfriend JoJo Siwa

Metro5 days ago
It appears Chris Hughes is done biting his tongue against backlash to his relationship with JoJo Siwa.
The Love Island star, 32, and Dance Moms alum, 22, have been a hot topic of gossip since getting together after meeting on the latest series of Celebrity Big Brother.
Alas, sharing personal snaps galore from their getaways and giving the internet an intimate look into their romance has also led to trolling.
But Chris, who has already confessed to wanting to marry and settle down with JoJo after a month of dating, has had enough.
Taking to his Instagram Story this afternoon, the TV personality responded with a lengthy clapback after one commenter hit out at JoJo's music career.
Named James, the individual's bio says he works in music artist management. In his original comment, he made a sarcastic quip about JoJo's community consisting of '60 comments and 11 likes', adding: 'It's no wonder the last single performed how it did'.

Going to town with his reply, Chris wrote: 'I hate to be this person, but rn respectfully I don't care. Trolls can be trolls, do your thing, whatever, carry on. They'll always exist, they'll always run with whatever narrative they want to push, and jump on bandwagons for social validation, you're always going to have them.
'This is different though, this doesn't sit well with me and this is disturbing.'
He continued to say the man in question neither knows nor follows him or JoJo, yet 'comes out of his way to [Chris's] latest post, creates a thread of 100+ comments of hatred in a now deleted comment'.
'The thing I find really ugly is that, through gritted teeth, this person is a music industry professional. Not your average troll, someone who's worked with the likes of Modest, Global and so on, someone who has worked with artists and performers, understands the pressures, the industry, how rewarding and how tough it can be, yet feels completely comfortable to want to shame other people within their industry absolutely NEEDLESSLY, just off a couples Instagram post.'
'I find it disturbing because it's cowardly,' Chris blasted. 'It's unprofessional and it's rude and shock it's now deleted, and I knew it would be, just gross. He tried to justify it being fine because the post popped up on his explore page. That was his validation.'
Concluding his rant, Chris addresses 'James' directly, saying: 'I hope your fellow industry professionals don't unnecessarily target you one day for absolutely no reason and try to belittle or put down your work, and I meant that. It's not nice, it's not pretty and it's just not called for.'
In a declaration of his feelings for JoJo, he added: 'Do better, just don't come for my person in the way you have, unprovoked, on a professional scale or any other music artist for that matter. Thank you.'
Chris wasn't done there, though, as the ITV Racing host also shut down commenters branding him 'creepy' for sharing a 10-year age gap with JoJo.
The presenter posted a carousel of pics to his 2.2million followers over the weekend from his latest trip to the States to spend time with JoJo and her family.
His snaps showed the lovebirds cuddling up by the pool, kissing on dinner dates, playing golf and tennis, and larking around in a water fight alongside the caption: 'just everything 🤍 missing you🏌🏼‍♀️🫶🏼🏌🏽🎾🐕'
Taking issue with the post, however, a woman named Pauline wrote underneath: 'Does anybody else find this creepy'.
Not mincing his words, Chris replied: 'No Pauline, you're miserable, p**s off kindly'.
After she retorted with, 'lol we see how long it lasts', Chris added: 'Yeah again, you don't need to speak, you don't follow me, respectfully do one thank you.'
And it continued further, with a social media user named Liz seemingly accusing Chris of using JoJo for clout, writing: 'Mate sort yourself out. You would do anything for fame'.
Jumping to defend him, a Chris fan responded with: 'Oh Liz, imagine hating someone who's just living and happy. Misery aren't you.'
Liz replied: 'I don't hate anybody sweetheart I just live in the real world,' provoking Chris to reply with: 'The real world! online bullies are the real world apparently.'
Chris, who returned to the UK days ago to attend Jack P. Shepherd's wedding, recently professed that he 'can't keep his hands off' JoJo, as he gave his first interview on their romance.
Speaking to The Sun, he added that he tells the Karma hitmaker he loves her 'every day'.
'She's the last person I speak to at night and the first I speak to when I wake up,' he said. More Trending
'I can't explain it, but it's a safe love. It's like a natural high.'
As for JoJo, the feeling is clearly mutual, as she often refers to her boyfriend with the nickname 'my sweet Christopher'.
She also told The Guardian that they have a 'beautiful connection'.
'I'm absolutely head over heels for him, and he's the same way.'

Coronation Street star unexpectedly axed in shock exit as character 'killed off' without warning

A Coronation Street cast member announced their exit from the ITV soap and fans are convinced their character was killed off. A Coronation Street star has announced their departure from the ITV soap and it's already been broadcast. In a shocking turn of events, their character may have met their demise, after the actor's goodbye message left viewers convinced they were "brown bread". ‌ Logan Radcliffe returned to the ITV drama this week, receiving a visit from Carla Connor whilst behind bars. She was frantic for answers about what had happened to Becky Swain, the late wife of her girlfriend Lisa Swain. ‌ Lisa had been finding it difficult to progress and move forward, uncertain whether Becky was in danger prior to her death and why she died, whether by accident or otherwise, with Carla wanting to help, the Mirror reports. ‌ She went to see Logan who demanded £10,000 for any information he might have about Becky. He then accidentally revealed a name, Tia Wardley, though no context was provided. Regardless of who she is, it was enough to get Logan into hot water with a fellow inmate over a "mutual friend" he'd angered. He was told he had revealed too much, and with that his cell door was shut - making it obvious to viewers he was in serious danger. ‌ As the episode came to an end, actor Harry Lowbridge, who portrays Logan, went on Instagram to announce his departure from the programme - confirming his final scenes had now been shown. With that, fans are certain Logan is now dead. They suspect that whoever Tia was, genuine or not, he'd disclosed too much and an unknown individual had the cellmate punish him for running his mouth. ‌ Fans reckon it will be disclosed that Logan has been killed, murdered in his cell. The actor confirmed no additional scenes were planned when he shared on Instagram: "Farewell Logan. It's been a blast x." Following the post and the broadcast scenes, viewers took to social media to share their theories that the soap had just killed off a character without any prior warning. One viewer said: "So Logan is brown bread then?" ‌ Another viewer agreed, writing: "RIP Logan," as a third viewer stated; "So Logan gets killed off in prison then!" A further comment read; "Harry posting a goodbye? Has Logan been killed in prison?" The reactions continued pouring in with one fan penning: "Okay so when Logan is killed in prison then what?!" Whether Logan has died or remains alive is still to be disclosed despite the speculation, with viewers questioning if he might make a comeback at some stage and whether we'll discover who was behind the assault. Then there's the matter that Tia might or might not be connected to the plot. Why are individuals so frantic to keep the truth hidden as well? Everything will have to be revealed at some point.

My dad wants to propose to his young girlfriend — but she's flirting with me

Knowing your mum or dad is out on the dating scene can feel pretty weird— but this week's reader has even more reason to feel uncomfortable. This 21-year-old got in touch because his dad's girlfriend, who is just 29, keeps flirting with him. From inappropriate touches to flirty jokes, he thinks she's crossing a line —but should he tell his dad? Read the advice below and make sure to read last week's column, where one reader is starting to doubt his girlfriend's far-fetched stories. My brother and I were still quite small when our mum sadly died of cancer. Since then, Dad's been involved with a few women but after one moved in and it all ended in disaster, he has tried to keep his love life away from us. However, now that we're adults – my brother 19 and me 21 – he's decided that it's safe to be open about his 'lady friends'. About a year ago, he met a woman at the cycling club he goes to, and in the last six months or so he has started bringing her home. She is only 29, my dad 47, so she's nearer in age to me than him. I've got to be honest – she is fit in every sense of the word. Maybe if I met her in a bar I'd be attracted to her, but she's my father's girlfriend so there's nothing there. I don't look at her in a romantic way. X Factor icon Diana Vickers and Metro's dating expert Alice Giddings dive into your wildest sex, love, and dating dilemmas – every Tuesday. You can also join the fun on our WhatsApp Group Chat here – share your dilemmas and Diana and Alice may just give you a call. However, that feeling doesn't seem to be reciprocated. Every time we're alone together, she flirts with me – cracking inappropriate and suggestive jokes, putting her arms round me, rubbing up against me – to the extent that it's embarrassing. She even said recently that if she'd met me before Dad, she would definitely have picked me instead. My dad worships the ground she walks on, and thinks I'm just jealous if I say anything against her. Recently he has talked about popping the question, which is an awful prospect. I definitely don't want her as my step-mother or my dad's wife. Unfortunately, you have no control over the behaviour of your dad's girlfriend, but you do have control over how you respond to her. You really need to have an honest chat with this woman when your dad isn't around, and make it clear that you're not attracted to her – even if that involves a lie. She needs to know where the boundaries are, and that you're the offspring of her partner rather than a potential boyfriend. Tell her you'll speak to your father if her inappropriate behaviour continues. If she really is so thick skinned that she carries on flirting with you, you're going to have to tell your dad. He'll probably be annoyed at first, but I bet he'd rather know than not – especially if he's thinking of proposing. Don't lose your cool – just tell him in a calm, measured way, what has been happening. More Trending This woman is clearly one person to him and another to you, but from what you say, she's not the sort of woman he needs in his life. That said, there's nothing you can do other than tell the truth. After that, it's up to them to sort out. Laura is a counsellor and columnist. Got a sex and dating dilemma? This morning, the Strictly star told his followers on Facebook Live: 'I haven't felt this level headed for years, having been in a bad place or a relationship that is not healthy for me. It's now calm.' An insider told the MailOnline: 'Wynne and Liz broke off their engagement a few weeks ago. 'The pressure of his new business ventures took its toll and they had a big fallout. 'Initially, there was a belief they would get back together when the ill-feeling died down, as they had split before and managed to patch things up. 'But with Wynne actively trying to date again and going public describing the relationship as 'not healthy', it's safe to say they've split from good this time.' Wynne started his own radio show following his BBC axing for making a crude remark on the Strictly Live Tour launch event. He was dropped from the tour and his BBC Wales radio show was canned. He is also opening his own restaurant and winebar - 'Welsh House by Wynne' in Carmarthen, West Wales. Wynne popped the question to Liz on holiday in Morocco in June of this year, after she loyally stood by him amid his BBC fallout. Joy for Wynne Evans as he gets engaged after months of hell following Strictly drama He told fans at the time: "Big news… I got engaged! "This weekend in Morocco, somewhere between the couscous, the camels, and me limping around the souks like a man with no spatial awareness, I proposed to Liz — and she said yes! (No take-backs, I've checked.) "She's clever, she's kind, she's got excellent taste in men. Absolutely no idea how I pulled that off, but here we are! "Feeling very lucky, very happy, and just a tiny bit smug." Liz, 50, who runs her own successful events company in Cardiff, met the star at one of her do's in Wales. He asked her out for a coffee the next day, and they were together for 18 months before he proposed.
