‘For every penny': Holly Valance, Nick Candy divorce gets messy

News.com.au17 hours ago
Ex-pop star Holly Valance has vowed to take her billionaire husband Nick Candy 'for every penny' following their split.
The Aussie, 42, has told friends that she feels like the injured party in the break-up from the 52-year-old because it was not on her terms.
It comes a week after The Sun revealed ex-Neighbours star Holly and British property magnate and Reform UK treasurer Nick had ended their 14-year marriage.
'Holly is incredibly upset. Her main concern is, and always will be, for their two daughters,' a source said.
'But when it comes to the divorce, she's made it clear she wants what she's owed and will take Nick for every penny. She insists that she is the injured party in this.'
It is understood the pair signed a pre-nuptial agreement before they tied in the knot in 2012 in a lavish £3 million ($6.2m) wedding.
The source added: 'It's been a very painful time for Holly and she has told friends that the split was not on her terms.
'Given the circumstances, it feels as if there could be some room to manoeuvre.
'Whatever the sum ends up being, it will be in the tens of millions of pounds.'
Holly, whose 2002 debut album produced three Top Ten hits, was this week seen for the first time since the news of the split broke.
She was not wearing her engagement or wedding ring when she got off a flight at London's Heathrow.
A spokesman for the couple confirmed they were divorcing, adding: 'This is a private matter. We won't be making any further comment.'
Last night a friend of Nick added: 'Nick is a very decent guy and he will always do right by Holly and their children.'
The pair were last photographed together in March going for lunch in London.
They met in 2009 and Nick proposed two years later in the Maldives.
They married in California in front of 300 guests, including Simon Cowell.
Holly found fame on Aussie TV soap Neighbours as Felicity 'Flick' Scully before launching her pop career.
Nick started his property business with brother Christian in the early 1990s while working in advertising.
They now have a vast portfolio, including One Hyde Park in central London, which alone is worth more than £1 billion ($A2.1bn).
Last year, Nick announced he had given up his Tory Party membership in favour of Reform and was appointed its treasurer in December.
Holly has also become an high-profile figure in right-wing politics — visiting Donald Trump in the US in 2022 with Nick and Reform leader Nigel Farage.

Brad Pitt's ‘biggest regret' revealed after settling ‘toxic' Angelina Jolie divorce: report

Brad Pitt has a new outlook on life following his divorce from Angelina Jolie. The F1 star, who recently opened up about life's 'struggles' during the latest episode of Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce's New Heights podcast, wants to move forward and put the past behind him. 'The divorce is something that had been controlling his life for so many years,' a source told Us Weekly of his split from the Maleficent star. 'He loved her and he knows he made mistakes.' 'It was such a divisive, toxic situation,' the insider added of their divorce that took eight years to finalise, per Page Six. Pitt and Jolie started dating in 2004. They tied the knot 10 years later, but the marriage only lasted two years. Throughout their 12-year romance, they expanded their family and now share six children together: Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 19, and 16-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox. Following the split, however, Pitt's relationship with his kids became strained as he and the Girl, Interrupted actress spent years fighting over custody. The events surrounding their split — like the 2016 plane incident and his battle with alcoholism — 'turned the kids against him.' However, Pitt 'doesn't blame [Jolie] for everything,' the insider said. Pitt also hopes to make things right with his kids. His 'biggest regret is he can't repair this,' the source revealed. 'The case is over but there are no winners.' 'To have that behind him is a relief. But on the other hand, it's been hard for him because he doesn't have a great relationship with his kids.' Since the split, Pitt, 61, has been working on his sobriety and it has reportedly changed his perspective on life. 'Ever since he stopped drinking, everything has changed,' the insider said. During a June appearance on Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast, Pitt told listeners that he went to AA meetings while 'pretty much on [his] knees' and needing to 'wake the f**k up.' The Golden Globe winner recalled, 'I was trying anything and everything, anything anyone threw at me. … It was a difficult time. I needed rebooting.' However, Jolie, 50, 'is still not in a place where she is going to forgive him or ever will,' the insider told Us Weekly in their report published on Thursday. The insider explained that Pitt, who is now in a serious relationship with Ines de Ramon, is 'relieved that this [divorce] is over.' Still, 'the lasting impact is something he's going to live with forever.' A rep for Pitt did not immediately respond to Page Six 's request for comment.

Carrie Bickmore sizzles in skimpy bikini while on holiday with Tommy Little

Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little have once again fuelled romance rumours after going on holiday together. The pair travelled to Hayman Island with some of their colleagues from the Carrie & Tommy radio show as Bickmore stripped down to a skimpy bikini. Bickmore celebrated the trip away by sharing some pictures of herself showing off her slim physique in a hot pink bikini. Carrie shared a reel of photos from the idyllic getaway, including one where she sizzles in a hot pink-patterned bikini. She also shared a snap of herself in a low-cut dress as she headed to dinner with Little and some of their other radio station colleagues. The celebrity duo have been at the centre of rumours that there's a romance between them for months, with fans believing their on-air back and forth is far too flirty to be platonic. Rumours began after Bickmore split from her second husband, Chris Walker, in January 2023. The pair were together for more than a decade and share two daughters, Evie and Adelaide. Little, who split from ex-girlfriend Natalie Kyriacou in 2021, addressed rumours of a romance between them back in March, denying that there's any kind of spark between them. 'There have been romance rumours about Carrie and I, but unfortunately, because Carrie is in my age bracket (my Tinder age bracket is legal to dead), but I'm not in Carrie's age bracket,' he said. 'She only likes much older, powerful men.' Meanwhile, the pair both recently appeared together on the finale of The Project. The Project's longest-serving host, Bickmore, was close to tears thanking everyone she crossed paths with over 13 years. She left the show to fully devote herself to fundraising efforts for brain cancer. 'It's been ten years since my Gold Logie speech, since I started Carrie's Beanies for brain cancer and I genuinely, I wanted to raise $1m. I would not have raised over $25m if it wasn't for you guys at home watching. So thank you so much.' Comedic regular Little also went on to explain his motivation for joining the show. 'The one thing that I did want to say is to the people back home; my time on the show – which I will be forever grateful for – was just trying to make you laugh.' 'People at home, if you'd often have days where you wouldn't have a laugh – that's all I wanted to give you and I understand that it is a privilege doing what we get to do.'

Madeline West: Former TV star reveals troubling ‘Barbie' complex as teen and concerns over AI's impact on kids

Actor and blogger Madeleine West has admitted her teenage obsession with becoming a real-life Barbie doll almost killed her, twice. The former Neighbours star has spoken out after manufacturer Mattel — the creator of Barbie — announced in June that it would be partnering with OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT. West fears it spells the end of playtime for kids as society knows it, sharing her thoughts in a column published to Kidspot. But before outlining her grave concerns about AI, she detailed her relationship with the doll. 'Thanks to AI, Barbie will soon be talking back. I for one am worried…,' she wrote. 'Because as a little girl, I wanted to be Barbie. Barbie epitomised what I thought it meant to be an empowered woman. She could be a doctor, a sports star, ballerina, anything and everything despite the fact that structurally Barbie couldn't stand on her size 3 feet or fit any organs into her negative size 0 body. Loading Instagram Post The 45-year-old mother, who gave birth to her seventh child in April, revealed the extent she'd go to pursue a Barbie-like physique in her younger years. 'She was all I wanted to be, and I got close. All it took was a fanatical addiction to fitness, fakery, and an eating disorder that almost killed me twice in my teens,' she said. 'By virtue of the suggestibility I suffered from living most of my life in the shadow cast by childhood abuse, I almost made the fantasy a reality.' However, West's worries went beyond simply the risk of kids succumbing to 'body dysmorphia'. She implored parents to see past potential marketing ploys promoting the benefits of AI in a child's early years. 'For me, the fact this initiative will see AI shaping and encouraging meaningful relationships between our kids and retail products without any clear, comprehensive guardrails is a red flag,' West said. She added, 'Mattel and others of its ilk owe parents genuine, informed consent. It owes children respect for their inner lives.' Unaware of the forthcoming developments to the company's products, followers of the star shared her despair. One labelled the news 'quite scary', while another thanked the TV star for her 'transparency' in revealing her struggles with body image. 'This is so frightening. I can't comprehend what this could do to belief systems in young children. I just hope it's very regulated and only positive and educational content can be shared,' a follower said.
